Very professional: Explained the procedures, what to expect, and possible consequences very well: Office staff was very supporting: Dieticians (I had three during my during my process were all very nice and extremely helpful(I lost 65 pounds prior to surgery):Bedside manner was very professional and not very personal which was fine with me because surgical competence was more important to me than bedside manner: Dr. Lane's physician's assistant, Amy Beidenbach, was very nice and most of my follow-up appointments were with Amy. Overall, it was a very good experience since I lost my desired weight and have so much more energy.
Dr. Brian Lane came from the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. I know that he has performed well over 1,000 WLS. I was also informed that he and his assistant, Amy have never lost a patient due to the surgery itself or complications from the surgery. rnDr. Lane as well as Amy are very clear and honest about the surgery and everything it entails. rnDr. Lane also takes extra precautions to prevent some of the more common and potentially life threatening complications from the surgery. rnThey have also been very informative of the before and after care requirements and suggestions. rnThey informed me of the potential life threatening risks from having surgery such as leaks and pulmonary embolisms. He has also taken the extra step in making sure that all the I's are dotted and T's crossed.rnEven though I haven't had the surgery yet I would strongly recommend Dr. Lane and his team for this surgery.
Dr. Lane and his physician's assistant Amy are the best. I couldn't ask for two more qualified people. Dr. Lane takes time to answer all of my questions, and he came to see me twice when I was recovering in the hospital. He is knowledgable about the latest WLS information. He is interested in long-term studies of patients, which is wonderful. I recommend him without hesitation. I'm so fortunate to live in Bowling Green two miles from the Center for Weight Loss Sugery!
When I went in to meet Dr. Lane and his assistant Physician Amy I was very pleased his office staff was nice and treated me like a person not a blob. All the seats were wide enough to fit me with no emabarrasing chair sticking incodents. You all know what I am saying. When I finally met Dr. Lane I was very pleased at the amount of knowledge he knew. I was amazed by how long he has done the surgery and how successful he was. I was even more impressed when he told me that he doesn't accept every joe off the street. You have to go through extensive testing and analysis before Dr. Lane and Amy will see you again in there office. They will refuse to do a surgery that they feel will put you at greater risk later on. I would strongly recommend him to anyone. When I went and did my research on him the only negative comment I could find was that his bed side manner could be better however that was one person out of thousands. Maybe she cought him on a bad day. All in all DR. LANE is the MAN!!
i had ds surgery april 9, 2007. dr. lane is the successor to dr. hess who created the ds surgery. dr. lane performed mine laproscopically. The wood county hospital in bowling green is in process of the certification as a center of excellence. i was extremely impressed with dr. lane , his surgical nurse, his internist and the rest of his staff. dr. lane seems to be calm , exacting ,and precise- just what i wanted in a surgeon. my surgery went extremely well with no leaks , infection clots, or other complications. he kept me in the hospital for three days post surgery and visited every day. i am now almost two months post-op and am down 60 pounds. my sleep apnea, incipient diabetes, and high blood pressure have all disappeared. so the answer is i think dr. lane and wood county hospital are fabulous. idid have a problem with one nurse who was a ditz.
I just wish he would have stayed with Barix in Ypsilanti, MI. Is the best surgeon ever, at least I think so.rnrnHe left to teach the laproscopic procedure out state. rnWe miss him very much, but anyone who knew him or will get to know him will understand my feelings about him being the best. rnDr. Lane would listen to your questions and answer them so you could understand. My impression of him was that he was a warm and caring surgeon. rnAs far as a structured after surgery program, YES. Through Barix (Bariatric Treatment Center) in Ypsilanti and throughout Michigan with support groups.rnHe explained that there are risks with this surgery as any other. I wasn't uncomfortable with the risks of surgery, I was killing myself with being over weight. rnI feel he was a great surgeon. Always professional but compassionate too. You say not to rate him at 100% so I'll have to say 99.99%.rnHis bedside and surgical competence were great.
'Dr. Brian Lane has a lot of experience and compassion he brings to the table. He never made me feel alone or distant from his part in the surgery and that was comforting. His manner is top notch and his accessibility (after my surgery) was impressive. He is a very intelligent well-trained surgeon. His best quality is a natural instinct as a surgeon which is a rare thing. I cannot think of anything negative to say about him except I wish I had more time to talk to him about other things because he is an interesting complex person. He does emphasize aftercare and exercise (rightly so) and I feel totally at ease in his and his staff's care. He addressed the risks of this surgery and my complications as I would expect--with the intelligence and command of someone who is at the top of his profession. You get the whole package with Dr. Lane--bedside manner
Dr. Lane has done a wonderful job giving me my life back. He spent 7 hours in the OR with me removing the lap band and completing the RNY. He is a very nice man, good bedside manner. He is a very busy man, trying to start a new practice. I would recommned him if you are in the Northwest Ohio area. He does take private pay.
