Dr. Kaul is AWESOME, plain and simple. He is a very knowledgable, skilled surgeon. He is personable, compassionate and concerned. He's a little soft spoken, but I always genuinely enjoy talking with him and like him as a person. I am very happy that Dr. Kaul was my surgeon and I would recommend him highly to anybody looking into bariatric surgery.

My first Impression of Dr. Kaul was that he was very personable. His staff is great, I actually met Liz at a Gastric Bypass Seminar previously and have spoken on the phone to Phyllis several times. The one thing that sticks in my mind most about Dr. Cerabona & Dr. Kaul is that they are very and I stress very informative, my nutritionist was surprised at how informed I was prior to meeting with her.

My first impression of Dr. Kaul was that he acted like I was his only patient that day and was willing to answer any questions I had. I have also seen Dr. Cerabona and I would say the same thing. They were both wonderful.
The office staff is very friendly and nice, however, it is very, very busy there and it is sometimes a long wait to see the doctor.
Both doctors had great bedside manners. They both performed the surgery and were very comforting and attentive.

I originally went to Dr. Singh in Albany, NY ...he was very condescending and requires a 10% weight loss. I then went to Dr. Cerebona in Valhalla, NY. Dr. Cerebona is fine..but his office staff of one was very bad. I was even warned by the one of the Dr's I went to for preop to "watch out for her". She never answers the phone...I always got voicemail..and she never returned my calls. Also, she scheduled my surgery for 8/29 and cancelled one week prior as the surgeon was going to be on vacation. My surgery was rescheduled for 10/17.

As luck/fate would have it, I ended up getting a call asking if I could have my surgery one week early...and ended up with Dr. Kaul. He was EXCELLENT. I had previous scars/adhesions...but he still did it lap even though it took him 5 hours. My leak test was fine..in fact..she said it looked better than they normally did..there was not even swelling. He had a great bedside manner too. Also, he has a competant office staff! I would highly recommend him.

Please note: when you get out of surgery...you are in ICU with excellent nursing care. I was there for 24 hours. Once I got into a room...I was not well taken care of at all. Noone helped me walk around...noone helped me in the bathroom, etc. Also, the food they gave us was full of sugar!!
