Very impressed with Dr. Kaul. Nice and friendly and really listened to me and my concerns. Didn't rush me at all. My opinion is the same 1.5 years out. His staff is very nice but the beginning was a little rough as I was denied by my insurance carrier - BC/BS PPO. The woman in the office didn't seem to think anything of that and was hesitant on helping me appeal. I did win my appeal but solely by doing it on my own. There is a structured aftercare program so they can keep track of your blood work and progress. Dr. Kaul's surgical competence and beside manner are impecable.

Dr. Kaul has such a great sense of humor. It really put me at ease. He was very honest and kind. He has remained this way throughout the entire process. Thank God! He explained all the pros and cons. He was very upfront with me about the risks to me with and without the surgery. The office staff is great but very busy. I did have to be pro-active and follow up on things with a particular member of his staff. She was not as effecient as I would have hoped. I can't think of a thing I don't like about him. He really cares about what he is doing. He will tell you what you need to hear even if you don't want to hear it but he will do it with compassion. He is a big advocate of aftercare. He insists that it is the difference between those who succeed and those who don't. They have a support group at his practice, as well as an on staff registered dietician. I would rate Dr. Kaul a 10 out of 10. His competence and bedside manner are second to none.

My initial impression of Dr. Kaul was very positive. he was the speaker at my introductory seminary and patiently and thoroughly answered all of our questions. So far his staff has been very helpful, compassionate and understanding. More to come!

Very well spoken, felt like he actually cared about me and what he does. My impression of how great he was only strengthened over time. The office staff is great, very helpful with every aspect before, up to and during surgery (i just wish that there was a little more direction upon leaving the office once you finish up w/doctor), their dietician fantastic. I would and do highly recommend this group to anyone who will listen! Aftercare is extrememly important and the staff always reminds you of that, but on that note, even though the program is highly recommended, there does not seem to be a strict schedule in place. The risks were given matter-of-factly and emphasis was placed on them, but so were the risks of remaining obese. I would give Dr. Kaul a 10 out of 10, he is great! His competance surgically and bedside are fantastic!

I had to change surgeons due to my insurance. I have now attended the seminar done by Dr. Kaul and have my first appointment set up.

Please keep in mind that i've interviewed (6) surgeons and looked at (4) hospitals so when i tell you I like Dr. Kaul i really mean it. He's got a wonderful, calming way about him and a ready, easy smile, positive attitude and a he can laugh with me. I'll tell you more about him after the surgery~

I have completed all my pre-surgical testing and consults as of 3-8-06. I have had my initial visit with Dr. Kaul. So I will update this form in more detail once I get the insurance ok and surgery date. So this is it for now:
I was very comfortable with Dr. Kaul. He was very pleasant, compassionate and made me feel at ease.
The office staff is great. They made me feel like their only patient at the time. Very personal but straight forward.
I was given information about support groups in my area. After care was especially discussed with me.The risks were explained, although I've done a lot of research and have 1st hand experience with a daughter that went through it, it was reviewed completly with me.

I have meet with Dr. Kaul and he is very nice. He listens to what you have to say and he is also very compassionate about any worries. For my husband to like him, you know he has to be a fantastic doctor. I haven't had any issues with the office staff either. I have been going to see Rosie the nutritionist for the last 6 months and she is absolutley a sweetheart. All of the people in this office are very nice. I have no complaints at all.

I loved my surgeon!!!!!!!!!!!! He is one of the most compasionte, caring people I have ever met. His office is very good..If it wasnt fot them I would probably have never gotten the approval for the surgery. THe entire office has a very good follow up program w/ support groups and all. I have nothing but praise for the entire team.. I would reccommend him to anyone!!!
