My first impression of Dr. Heydari was a good one. He and his staff are very friendly and informative. He is also very informative and very patient. I first met him in an informational meeting with a group of several people in it and he made sure all questions were completely answered. He was very thorough on the explanations on the risks of surgery. I can’t find anything negative to say about this doctor. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate him a 20. His after care and bedside manner are fantastic. He is so polite and very thorough with his patients. I would recomend his program to anyone wishing to have this surgery.

Dr Heydari is amazing! He is the number one reason I feel brave enough to go through with this. He was highly recommended to me by a friend who had her wls done by him. I was thrilled when I found out he was in my network. Even though I live an hour from his offices and the hospital, it was worth it to me to feel like I had the best surgeon taking care of me. Not only is he highly skilled, his demeanor is calming. His office staff is A-1. Kathy and Pam are just the BEST. They have a very thorough program to get you ready for the surgery and continues through to the aftercare. The support group meetings are awesome. I am truly blessed that God led me to this wonderful group.

Dr Heydari is awesome, very caring, very concerned and educational, also very handsome. He has an awesome bedside manor and always wears a smile. I had always wanted this surgery but because of other medical problems no surgeon would touch me. My impression of Dr Heydari has increased over time that he is an excellent surgeon. His staff is awesome, at 1st I had some concerns, I thought things were moving too slow. There were changes being made but it was because of the hospital as I found out later. But they were good changes. I can't think of anything that I don't like about Dr Heydari. There is an after care program, but because I am so far away I don't take advantage of it. I was fully aware of the risks of surgery, #1 in his office he went over everything and also in a group meeting. I went thru alot of stages preparing for the surgery knowing there was a big chance I would either not come out alive or that I would be hooked to a resperator for a long period of time and not able to come off. Neither thank god happened. My skilled surgeon had me off the resperator within hours and out of bed. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would give Dr Heydari a 10 in rating a surgeon. Plus he inturned under the dr who came up with the RNY and does laproscopic if at all possible.
Anyone considering this surgery and able to get to Woodstock, IL. I wouldn't have anyone else do surgery on me. With all my medical problems I was sure he would turn me down. But he didn't, he was concerned and very worried but took the chance and gave me a new life. I owe my life to this man.

Updates, and important surgery dates...By-pass was 11-30-2004, Baby 03-22-2006, Baby 10-26-2007, Gall-Bladder removed 03-27-2009, Abdominal Lysis of adhesions 09-27-2010, Abdominal surgery to remove a mass in my abdominal wall 12-20-2010, & Bowel-Obstruction 02-01-2011

Following bypass, I had 2 pregnancies. After that, I had to have my gall-bladder removed. Dr. Heydari performed that surgey also. I prefer to use no other surgeon than Dr. Heydari. I have had other surgeries that have had to be done and I always return to Dr. Heydari. My most recent experience was on 1-31-2011/ 02-01-2011.... I was having SEVERE abdominal pain and went to the ER to find out that I had a bowel obstruction....a few minutes following my diagnosis in walked Dr. Heydari in his "street clothes". He had come to the hospital just for me! Now, that is what I call a doctor who cares. He did my surgery and made extreme efforts to avoid doing an open wound incision. He succeeded and I know my recovery is easier because of his efforts! As MANY other patients have posted, Dr. Heydari is a surgeon who CARES about his patients and takes the time with each person...YES, you are a person and not just a number! He explains things in common terms that help you understand your health decisions and situations. I STRONGLY recommend Dr. Heydari for any surgery that you may need!

These are my personal opinions related to Dr. Heydari and staff, others may have different opinions so I suggest that you read them all:

Dr. Heydari is a caring surgeon. From the beginning I could tell that he was truly concerned about my health and my understanding of how serious this surgery would be.

My opinion of Dr. Heydari has only been strengthened as I have worked with him.

Future patients should know that he is not into the gastric-bypass business. He does this surgery for those who really need it and can approach it seriously.

Aftercare is a major concern and post op appointments are at 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months and 1 year.

Dr. Heydari went through a list of risks with me at my appointment and was readily prepared to address concerns.

Overall, I would rate Dr. Heydari as a 10! I would say he is extremely strong in surgical competence and his bedside manner is that of serious concern for the patient's well-being.

I only have nice things to say about Dr. Heydari. The first time I saw him was at a support meeting. He made us all understand the procedure and possible complications. My impression of him over the 4 months before surgery only got better. He had no trouble sitting and explaining things to you, so you would understand. His staff and hospital staff only had wonderful things to say about him also. After surgery while I was in the hospital he had called several times to check on me and visited me twice a day to make sure I was fine. I would recomend him, he is a wonderful man.

I haven't met with Dr. Heydari yet. He is the surgeon who does WLS that is in our HMO plan, so he is who I will go to. So far I've heard nothing but great things about him. I trust everything will go fine. :)
