Dr.Heydari is a wonderful surgeon-he explains things very well and in a way that you can understand- showing diagrams,drawing pictures etc..and his bedside manner is great!

my 1st impression was wonderful i was very nervous and he made me feel at ease his staff has been wonderful. i am just in the initial phase of all of this so i havent had many visits.he seems to understand exactly what you are feeling and he listens to what you have to say. he was very complete with his explanation of surgery and his nurse and nutritionist made everything very clear and understandable


i had my surgery on 8/4 i was very scared dr hydari and his nurse kathy made me feel at ease they have been very kind through all of this process. everything was explained very clearly to me after surgery on what to do when i came home

they both came to see me often in the hospital and listen to me when i had something to saythey both care very much about how you feel and try to make things as easy as possible



i am 2 months posy op now and my surgeon and his staff are wonderful they have been so patient wth me

I met with Dr. Amir Heydari on 7/15/03 and he does do the surgery Laproscopicaly. I took my mother with me for moral support but also so she understood the "big" change my life wil undertake....Dr. was very nice and had diagrams showing the proceedure and he did look at my stomach and said that I seem to carry my weigh in my mid section and that would make me a good candidate.

He told me he wanted me to rate this surgery on a scale of 1 to 10 10 being the most major and 1 being not so major and I said it was a 10.
He also wanted me to have a psych exam and I told him I did that already..I am just waiting to hear from Sandy as to what I need as far a my insurance is concerned.

8/12/03 I spoke with Sandy and she said that per Aetna that I need one more consultation with the Dietician so I am meeting with my dietician on 9/2/03 and after Sandy gets the final consultation they will forward all my information to Aetna and mark her calendar for 2 weeks after that date and we should here from AETNA by that time.

Dr. Heydari has been great. I had surgery on July 28th 2003 and I am feeling great. I have had zero complications and I owe a lot of that to Dr. Heydari. He was very informative pre-op. I met with him for an hour and he was very realistic and open aboutr the procedure and the risks. Post op , he has been great as well. He always answers all of my questions and I never feel like he is rushing me. He is also awesome about keeping his appointments on time. Everytime I have been to his office, I have NEVER had to wait more than five minutes before I could see him. At one appointment, he was running late, so his receptionist called and asked if I could come in a half hour later because he was stuck in surgery. I would highly recommend him to anyone considering having this surgery.

I've heard great things about DR. Heydari and am looking forward to meeting him on August 5, 2003. Will update then.

He was very concerned for the patient the patient is who looks out for. I had Dr. Hedari for 2 previous surgeories, Appendix and hernia. He was GREAT!!! I feel very comfortable having him do the surgeory. The staff was friendly. I asked him all my questions point blank and he answered them all. Risks were covered.

MY FIRST IMPRESSION OF DR HEYDARI WAS A GOOD ONE. I LIKE HOW HE INTRODUCED HIMSELF AND SAY DOWN AND LISTENED TO WHAT I HAD TO SAY ANSWERED ALL MY QUESTIONS AND THEN EXPLAIN EVERYTHING IN FULL DETAIL.WENT OVER ALL THE RISK OF THE SURGERY. ON A SCALE OF 1-10 I WOULD RATE DR HEYDARI A 10 HE IS THE BEST!!!

KATHY IS THE BOMB AND THE NIMC STAFF IS THE BEST !!!!!!!!!
DR WAS IN TO SEE ME EVERY DAY THAT I WAS THERE AND SO WAS KATHY.HE EXPLAINED EVERYTHING IN FULL DETAIL FOR ME ON EVEYTHING.....EXCEPT THE NASTY TASTE OF THE UPPER GI MED I HAD TO DRINK AFTER SURGERY (NASTY).I WOULD RECOMMEND DR HEYDARI TO EVERYONE WHO WISHES TO HAVE THIS SURGERY AND WOULD RECOMMEND THE STAFF AT NIMC AND OF COURSE KATHY CAUSE SHE IS THE BEST.
IF I HAD TO RATE DR AGAIIN I WOULD RATE HIS ON SCALE OF 1-10 HE WOULD BE SO ABOVE A 10 CAUSE HE IS THE BEST.

I met with Dr Heydari and his assistant, Sandy. They were absolutely terrific. I had been approved for surgery thru BTC, but my insurance company did not inform me that BTC was "out of network" and two days before my surgery, thank goodness, BTC informed me that my out of pocket expense would be $5500.00 PLUS.
At that time I had to cancel the surgery and regroup.
Via three references from Dr. Heydari's patients from this website, I made and appointment to see him. His assistant Sandy was so professional! And he is terrific. I would rate this doctor and his staff at a 10! He went over all the plus and negatives of the surgery. He answered all my questions about his qualifications.
My paperwork at his office was complete and NIMC was on phone with me within two days of my appointment to schedule the required tests. Dr. Heydari's surgical bariatric nurse was on the phone as well within 72 hours.
So, my surgery date is now set. I am very happy with this surgeon and his staff thus far.

Dr. Heydari is a very good surgeon. He has made my dream come true. He has the best bed-side manner. He held my hand and talk to me before surgery. He office staff is great. Sandy went beyond the call of duty to answer all the questions i had.

I am a surgical technologist, and had worked with Dr. Heydari previously on many occasions. I feel that he is one of the most caring, compassionate surgeons I have ever met. He covered everything completely with me, even though I had actually assisted him on a couple of the Roux-en-y procedures. I also developed complications post-op and he was in contact with me everyday to make sure that everything was going well. He addressed the possibilities of complications prior to the surgery so it wasn't that much of a shock. His staff are very professional and very helpful.

Overall, I'd recommend Dr. Heydari to any and everyone. He is the best. His bedsidemanner and surgical competence are top notch.
