I had my first visit with Dr. Naaman after having had visited with two other doctors prior. Dr. Naaman was pretty up front to the point, but it was a short visit with him. He seemed to be a very nice man. I think I am going to like him. I went in for my first consult as well as my h.pylori test. I was negative. Yippee! Now I am waiting on my insurance approval. As of Thursday, 3-18 the doctors office had already sent everything over to the insurance company and was waiting on them for my approval. I am believing God for this surgery.

Well, on 3-26=04 I was denied. I appealed it and they recieved the appeal on May 25, 2004.

My appeal was approved on June 28, 2004 and I am scheduled for surgery on July 21, 2004. I am so excited I can't wait.

I am really looking forward to my journey through this weight loss adventure.

He was extremely professional and provided all the answers I sought regarding this surgery. The office staff have been outstanding. Dr. Naaman has been highly recommended by several doctors in the area as being an extremely competent surgeon.

I have not totally formulated a complete view of him since I have only met with him once.

I liked Dr Naaman from the start. But I saw him only 1 time before surgery. When I go to his office I only see his assistant. Dr. Naaman staff if helpful and they know thier stuff. He does stress walking. There is a support group. His office does not inform you of that. It is every Sunday, I've been told. He discusses with you the sugery and risks thay you take.

I really like Dr. Naaman. He made me feel very comfortable. He seems to be interested in the entire patients health not just the part in which he can make money from. His staff is usually friendly (we all have our bad days), and very knowledgable about the insurance aspect.

4/29/03- Today I had my first consultation with Dr. Naaman. I heard so many good things about him and his office staff. All the things people say about him and his staff are true. He seems like a very good doctor and answered all my questions thoroughly. Pam even elaborated more on what he said and that was great. After I met with Dr. Naaman I talked with Amanda. She seems really nice too. They sent me to the lab for bloodwork to test for bacteria in the stomach. The lab took 30 min. and was very crowded. However, this has nothing to do with Dr. Naaman and staff. Now I will play the waiting game for insurance approval. I've waited this long, what's another month or more? My overall rating for Dr. Naaman and staff was a 10. I didn't have anything negative happen to me thus far.

4/29/04-One month to the day that I saw Dr. Naaman the first time. Isn't that weird? Today for my pre-op I saw Julius, Dr. Naaman and Bernice. I have spoken to Bernice many times on the phone in the last year and finally got to meet her! She's is SO SO sweet! I hope they pay her well because she deserves it!

DR NAAMAN IS AN AWSOME DR. HE ALSO HAS AN AWSOME STAFF.I HAD BEEN TRYING TO HAVE A REVISION FOR OVER A YEAR WITH NEW WEIGH/DR FERRARI. I WAS TO THE POINT OF GIVING UP. MY INSURANCE WAS APPROVED YET THE HOSPITOL WHERE DR FERRARI PRACTICED DID NOT TAKE MY INSURANCE SO I WAS BACK TO SQUARE 1. MY BOSS TOLD ME ABOUT HERS. DR NAAMAN AND I WENT TO VISIT HIM, IT TOOK ABOUT 1 MONTH AND HE HAD THE PAPERWORK COMPLETED AND TURNED IN AND I GOT THE NEXT APPROVAL AND SET MY DATE WITH IN THAT NEXT WEEK. I WAS SOO EXCITED...
THEY GOT ME IN BEFORE THE END OF THE YEAR SO THAT I WOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY ANOTHER 500.00 DEDUCTIBLE. I HAD TO PAY 600.00 OUT OF MY POCKET AND DR. NAAMANS OFFICE WORKED A PAYMENT PLAN WITH ME. THEY LET ME PAY SO MUCH DOWN AND POST DATE CHECKS FOR 4 MONTHS. THEY WERE A LIFE SAVOR. BECOUSE AS A SINGLE MOM I WOULD HAVE NEVER CAME UP WITH THAT KIND OF MONEY AT ONCE.THEY REALLY HAVE HELPED ME. THEY HAVE GREAT AFTERCARE PROGRAM. I RECOMMMEND HIM TO EVERYONE. HE IS GREAT!!!! GOD BLESS HIM AND HIS STAFF!!!!!!!
MY 1ST DR HAD ME SCARED TO DO THE REVISION AND WHEN I TALKED WITH DR. NAAMAN I WAS NOT SCARED AT ALL AND IT WENT LIKE A BREEZE. HIS OFFICE STAFF ARE ALWAYS HELPFUL AND WORK WITH ME ON EVERYTHING.

I had called on a Thursday to get things started and the office was very busy. She took my name and number and said she would get back to me. That evening, I emailed them, thinking that would help. The following Tuesday I called again and the person who answered was extremely nice and apologetic. Here I go!
The office staff is wonderful. Didn't look down on you due to size.

Dr. Naaman was very calm, great eye to eye contact. Answered questions very clearly. Felt confident, as did my husband, that he is the right surgeon for me. I found him to be a compassionate doctor not necessarily showing it outwardly but inward. After seeing me, he wanted what was best for my weight loss recovery and changed his idea of what needed to be done. I am very grateful for him in that respect.

Will let you know more later.

It is now 15 months post-op and I can just now come on here to tell you about my experience with this surgeon. Due to complications with my Panniculectomy, we found it very difficult to communicate with him and made us feel inferior for asking. He had a wait and see attitude, which was to my detriment.

Need to have an advocate that is strong pulling for you. Thankfully I did.

We were told that Memorial Hermann Medical Center could handle the complications more effectively than they could at Memorial Hermann Memorial City Hospital.

I had 3 1/2 months of care at Memorial Hermann Medical Center. Excellent care and ended up with a fantastic doctor, Dr. Erik Wilson.

Depite the length of my hospital stay and the problems I had, I would do it again, but knowing what I do now. I will acknowlege the little red flags that I had with the original surgeon and not associate it with the fact that I had these "feelings" because of my size.

Things have changed! After all of my testing I was informed by my insurance company that they would not cover my surgery with Dr. Glorsky because he was out of network. I was really disappointed that the doctors office didn't know this from the very beginning. Honestly, I feel like I wasted $200 in doctor visits. Anyway, I have pursued Dr. Naaman because of several friends who have had great success with his help. After my first consultation with him, I feel very confident that he will do a superior job. He had a great sense of humor and nice smile. I felt that he was very confident in his abilities and informed me that he has performed over 1,000 of these surgeries.

I just had my first visit with Dr. Steven Glorsky. He was awesome and comes highly recommended by Dr. Michael Appel, Chief of Surgery at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital. He has told me to have a sleep study, upper GI, meet with a nutritionist and a psychologist before the surgery will be scheduled. Two of the appointments have been made for this weekend and I'm looking forward to the seminar on Dec. 2nd

Dr.Naaman is an excellent surgeon. If you are looking for a warm fuzzy doc then I don't think he is for you. But if you are looking for competence then you really can't find any better. His staff is friendly and the P.A., Julius, that actually does the majority of his patient care is wonderful. I would not say they have a very structured aftercare program but to me the most important thing was the competence of the surgeon.

I had my first consultation with Dr. Naaman today(12/11/2003). The staff seemed friendly and knowledgable and very understanding. I was alittle nervous at first, but, after meeting Dr. Naaman I felt more comfortable and confident about the surgery. He seems very confident and credible, which makes me feel alot better.

My sx. was 2/18/2004. I was released and than had to go back into for emergency sx. to help a intestinal blockage on the 22nd. I was totally terrified, but Dr. Naaman helped to see that I was in good hands. He's a man of little words, but he will take the best care and attention to you. Thank you very much Dr. Naaman. I would recommend this doc!
