2-20-03 I have not met with Dr. Naaman yet. I had to change doctors because the hospital Dr. Ferrari uses no long accepts my insurance. Dr. Naaman has been recommended to me by several people so I am going to give him a try.
6-9-03 I am now 10 days post op and I am very pleased with Dr. Naaman and his staff. They have been wonderful to me. Any questions I had they answered (even if it was stupid). Which made me feel really good. Dr. Naaman is very persitant when it comes to walking. He will not due the surgery unless he knows for sure you are going to do your walking everyday. It is very important for the aftercare. Amanda and Juluis are also wonderful. They have been a great help to me. I would rate them a 10. Thanks guys for giving me a new life.

I really liked Dr. Naaman. He was kind and straight to the point. The ladies in his office were also great. Very informative and helpful visit. My husband was with me for my first consult and he thought very highly of Dr. Naaman and his staff also.

My first impression was that he was very calm and very helpful regarding the surgery. After looking at my records, he determined that I will need to see a GI in order to rule out any issues with my liver. His staff was very professional. Amanda who handles the insurance as well as the surgery scheduling was awesome. Pat, who is one of his RN's was also very friendly. Hopefully in the next visit, I will meet with his PA. They want you to know everyone in their office so that no one is a stranger to you. Overall, this is a great office and staff. I know that I am in good hands with them.

My experience with Dr. Naaman and his staff was great! All my questions and concerns were addressed. I'm looking forward to seeing them all again soon at my pre-op appointment!

My first impression of Dr. Naaman was that, who ever said he had a rotten bed side manner did not meet the same man I met. I have just had my first appointment today Feb.18 2003. He answered all of my questions and was a very nice man. Smiled a lot!! Staff was also wonderful... all in all was a very good experience...

Post Sugery comments reflect my first meeting. This man and his staff are very caring people. His work is wonderful and I will say once again since I have now met him at my bedside twice... he has a wonderful bedside manner! :-) My only problem was with the dude that knocked me out for surgery... kinda rude... and 6 days later my bottom lip is still completly numb because it was not moved out of the way when they intubated me... (probably spelled wrong) it was crushed between the tube going into my mouth and my teeth... OUCH But since that has nothing to do with Dr. Naaman... why did I type it... well I hope some day he'll read this and not use that dude again... :-)

On January 8, 2003 I attended the pre-op orientation of WLS doctor. It was a Power Point presentation with drawings to help you understand how the procedure is done. The meeting lasted about 2 1/2 hours including the question and answer period at the end. The meeting made me feel confident in my surgeon, anxious for the surgery.

March 3, 2003-After waiting for a month for my first appointment, and driving for two hours I arrived for my appointment and the nurse said he no longer takes my Aetna Insurance. What a bummer!

March 11,2003 I have an appointment with Dr. Adam Naaman. It's hard to know how to feel. I don't won't to be disappointed again so I'm scared to get excited.

March 12, 2003- I had my appointment with Dr Naaman. Staff was friendly but busy. I understand were they are coming from. Dr.'s comments are short and to the point. He knows what he is looking for. I have done my research and feel confident with him. Very short visit and I'm on my way home.

March 14, 2003- Letter sent to Aetna for approval of the surgery.

March 21,2003- Called Aetna, no letter has been noted in my file. The rep. stated no mention of the letter will be noted until the surgery has been approved or denided.

March 27. 2003- Called Aetna, same as before no mention of the letter was noted in my file.

Dr. Naaman and his staff are awesome people. Dr. Naaman is very direct and to the point. His diet restrictions are very different than the norm. He requires 6 weeks liquids. Makes sense to me to give the new inards time to heal properly.

He want you walking 15 minutes a day when you get home from the hospital and then up to 30 minutes asap.

I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a competent surgeon with an efficient staff.

Met Dr. Naaman on 3/18/03. First impression is that he is very quiet, pretty patient with your questions, and is aware that most GBP patients are fully aware of what they're going for. I will say that his staff is SPECTACULAR. His nurse, Pam, is a scream -- funny, smart and very down to earth. It's just so nice to meet a medical office staff that actually enjoys their job and are knowledgeable. He doesn't have a support group or anything like that available, but he does follow you for about 2-3 years, depending on when you hit your goal. He addressed all of my issues and concerns very well and put most of my fears to rest. I don't expect him to have great bedside manner, but frankly, I'm not looking for a personality -- I'm looking for the best, most skilled surgeon available, and I think I've found him.

Dr. Naaman has excellant credientials and seems to be very knowledgable. Looking at this website, he and 1 other Dr. in the Houston area appear to do the majority of the gastric bypass surgeries. Dr. Naaman has been doing gastric bypass surgeries for ~ 2 1/2 years. I was told he has done over 500 laproscopic surgeries and over 800 gastric bypass surgeries in all. Overall, I think he is probably an excellant surgeon.
