My first impression about Dr.Dyer, was he look like a nice man and he meant business. When I had my consultation with him; he was very very explanatory, he broke down everything to me so when it was my turn to ask questions, there wasn't many I had to asked. He explained everything to a \"t\". His office staff were very nice and were always smiling and polite. My surgery is coming up in May and I wouldn't think twice not having it done, because i know both, Dr. Dyer and his staff will take good care of me!
I initially met Dr. Dyer at my pre-op consult. It was just before Christmas and I could tell it had been a long day, but he still took time to go over all of the information and answer all of my questions. Now, 6 weeks post-op, I would say he is extremely competent, caring, and very thorough. He and his staff have made sure I am comfortable and doing well in my progress. They have also been excellent with my family. It should be said Dr. Dyer is quiet and contemplative, but he will never hesitate to address your concerns. He makes sure you are on the aftercare program, and offers an excercise physiologist and nutritionist in office to assist you in following-through. Dr. Dyer and his staff are excellent, if I had it to chose over again I would not hesitate to again chose Dr. Dyer.
I was glad to finally meet Dr. Dyer. I had heard allot of good things about him. That is why I chose him. I have never had a major surgery like this before. Dr. Dyer did inform me of the risks involved with this type of surgery. I feel that I was well informed of the consequences, and the benefits. I felt confident in his care. rnrnI had some problems at first, but he was able to see me right away, and take the necessary percautions to be sure everything was good. It was my fault for the way I was feeling. I was not taking the medication he gave me to take. So once I started taking the prevacid, things got better. And since then everything is going well. rnrnIf I were to recomend Dr. Dyer, I would be confident in doing so. I feel he is one of the leading surgeons in his field. rnrn
Dr.Dyer is one of the best docters I've ever met. When I first met him, I knew from the start I wanted him as my doctor. His smile relaxes you and he spent an hour with me telling me the pros and cons of surgery. He left no questions un-answered and made me feel like I was in competant hands. His office staff are kind and caring, and very helpful, they are the best.He emphasizes after care, diet and exercise and lots of water. Him and his staff care, and most of all you feel cared for and that's important. He has a strict and structured aftercare program that allows you to reach your goals. He is some one I trust with my life, and for any one out ther looking for a great surgeon, Dr.Dyer is your man. He has a great bed side mannor and he doesn't make you feel like just another patient. Dr.Dyer saved my life and now I feel like I have a second chance at life. I like to thank Dr. Dyer and his staff from the bottem of my heart, God bless you all. Thank you,rn Sheila StinsonrnNashville, tn.
Dr. Olsen was a true professional. He informed me about everything I needed to know and some things I never even thought about. I am so glad that I will have Dr.Olsen for my surgeon if I get approved (God willing) because he made me feel so comfortable about the whole surgery all my doubts and fears were put to rest. I will be honored to have Dr. Olsen as a surgeon.
Dr Dyer, his staff, the staff of Centennial from the time you think about surgery until far beyond the completion of your surgery will make sure you are educated, comfortable and feeling great about yourself. Dr. Dyer is very straight forward and will not beat around the bush about important information. Everything about his program is structured and if you have a question about anything and I mean anything it will be answered. I am 21 and weighed 667 before surgery and a month after surgery I weighed 570... not just because of weight loss but because of a structured and complete before and aftercare process including proper diets and medicine and exercise regiment which is all supplied and overseen by Dr. Dyer and the wonderful staff. There are really no negative comments I can make, I had a hard time with one or two nurses during aftercare in my first week but I had not one problem out of the staff at the Tace building!
I had to meet with Dr. David Dyer prior to approval from my insurance company. Not only is he is a wonderful man, but he also shows to be very genuine in his role as a doctor. He was very kind, knowledgeable, and personable. He discussed with me all of the types of WLS and listened to my concerns and addressed them thoroughly. He talked to me about all the benefits and well as all the risks associated with WLS. Afterwards I chose to get the RNY pending approval from my insurance, due to my current medical needs, and what we both thought we work best for me. Dr. Dyer really emphasized aftercare and reviewed with me his offices' aftercare procedures. His office staff is wonderful. I have worked closely with Sherry in the financial office, and no matter how often I call, she is always helpful and friendly. Pending my approval, I look forward to working with Dr. Dyer and his staff, because as of right now, I feel I will be in very capable hands.
Dr. Dyer has an excellent program for follow-up after his bariatric surgery procedures. He has his patients sign a contract committing to follow-up with him and other counseling and support. That contract helps keep me committed to the aftercare program which has contributed greatly to my loss of 111 lbs in the past 4 months. I feel like a new and better person and look forward to continuing the progress under his direction.
9/14/2009--I am now at my goal, and I have lost a total of 212 lbs at my 1-year anniversary on 9/3/2009. I have not felt this good in so many years that I can't even remember. The transition from weight loss to maintaining is a little scary and exciting. I have always been able to lose weight, but I have never maintained my weight loss before even this long. Dr. Dyer's support and the support in the Weight Loss Program (from staff and dieticians) makes all the difference for me. Pre-op preparation and post-op support (both of which are stressed in this program) are making the difference in my life. I am not at all sure I would be alive today if I had not entered into this weight loss journey over the last year. Pre-op, I took 13 prescription medications (33 pills and 2-4 insulin injections) everyday. I am now taking one pill daily for a slightly elevated blood pressure and am being weaned off of that. It is beyond my comprehension, and I don't even know how to convey how grateful I am except to put it in writing.
