My firist impression of Dr. Dyer is that he was a professional, and that he was confident in his ability to help me. It took 2 years for my insurance company to finally say yes to Lap-Band Surgery, and it was a new day for me! Finally, after years of being overweight, I would now have a tool to help me stay on track. Dr. Dyer's staff is exceptional and with the help of his staff on staying on top of my insurance problems, I feel they were awesome at their job of helping me get my surgery approved. I will be honest....for me, the surgery was not bad. For me, it was not eating solid food for 7 days before surgery and 7 days after surgery. But I believe that this helped me get even more mentally prepared for the changes in my diet. Dr. Dyer was supportive of me before I went back in to surgery and was concerned for my well being. I felt very safe in his care. I would highly recommend him as a surgeon. I will never be able to thank him enough for helping me change my life. He will give you all the information that you need to go over if you are wanting to have surgery and is willing to answer any questions that you have. He stressed to me the importance of my aftercare, taking my vitamins, drinking my fluids, exercising and eating my protein that is needed everyday. THANK YOU Dr. Dyer for helping me to become a healthy young lady!

After surgery, I thought I had an emergency. It turned out to be nothing, but it was on a weekend and Dr. Dyer's answering service promptly paged him to call my home. He did so with utmost concern and even chatted for a moment about my feelings. I actually look forward to visiting him in the office. His staff is knowledgeable and have been able to answer all of my questions. Dr. Dyer is a new best friend for life, and I feel like he feels the same about me!

rnAs far as I am concerned, Dr. Dyer is simply the best WLS surgeon in the nation. His skill as a surgeon and his willingness to listen made this experience almost a non-event. I cannot thank him enough for such a positive experience.rnrnMy first impression of Dr. Dyer was his kindness, professionalism and straight forward manner of communication. Although he was sick with a cold, he did not cut short my information session. He did not talk down, and welcomed questions. rnrnDuring my physical examination, he discovered a very large ventral hernia resulting from a previous abdominal surgical procedure. He stated that WLS would likely have to be done as an open procedure and that a repair of the hernia would most likely have to take place at that same time in order to prevent the possibility of intestinal blockages, etc. rnrnWhile waiting for my surgery date, I called Dr. Dyer with a number of questions. As before, he took the time to answer my questions and did not try to down play the seriousness of the surgery. rnrnOn the day of surgery, December 10, 2008, Dr. Dyer laparascopically viewed the ventral hernia and determined that the hernia surgery could safely wait until after I had lost weight. My WLS surgery was done laparascopically and in all honesty, I keep waiting for the nausea, pain, and other complications experienced by my two sisters when they had WLS performed by two different surgeons in Atlanta. I expected to be in terrible pain, have infections of wound sites, and not able to eat or drink, but did not experience any of those complications. rnrnOn Christmas day, I had my first blended food. Following instructions to make the meal last 30 minutes, I enjoyed shaved turkey chopped and chopped green beans without any problems.rnrnDr. Dyer’s staff is excellent. They provide excellent customer service even to patients requiring changes in scheduling and other unexpected needs. rnrnDr. Dyer stresses aftercare and follow-up visits include visits with the dietitian and exercise physiologist, as well as, reminders of group meetings.rn

My first impression of Dr. Dyer was that he was very kind and professional, interseted in what I thought and felt was best for me. That feeling continues now.rn The staff was very helpful, I had my surgery scheduled and had another medical problem come up, called their office, they rescheduled to better suit me, and there was no charge, and they seemed happy to help.rn Aftercare is very important, He and his staff want you to have great success. Aftercare is easy to obtain with everything available on site, and meetings in several off sites and counties.rn Surgical competence and Bedside manner were wonderful. No complaints at all.rn I had surgery on the 18 of Dec, 2008. I have done wonderful, no problems at all, great pain control, although the pain was never very bad, i'm not sore anymore, and having no problem with allowed foods. But I am doing exactly what He said do. I have lost 15 pounds and feel fine. Thank you Dr. Dyer and staff

I had Lap RNY completed by Dr.Dyer on June 30, 2009. Dr. Dyer has always taken the time to answer any quetsions and calm any of my fears that I've had. He is very compassionate and caring and this was exactly what I wanted in a surgeon. Overall, I think that Dr. Dyer is a fantastic surgeon and I high recommend him to anyone considering any type of weight loss surgery.

I first met Dr. Dyer at one of his groups seminars. I found help very professional and matter of fact in his approach to his pratice. During the process which involved the 6 months diet asked for by my Insurance I was in touch with his staff. When we finally finish the jump thru the hoop for insurance and my doctor faxed over the information needed his staff moved quickly. My doctor had left out some info, they called that day and we made the corrections. I had an answer on insurance within 5 days. I went for my office visit on Oct. 30th, started my liquid diet on Nov. 4th and had surgery on Nov. 19th.rnThe surgery went well and stayed within the time frame presented in our meeting. The method of care having one RN that met my needs was wonderful. I had competent nurses that kept my wife , who is a nurse also, informed of my care plan and any changes that took place. I had a problem with high BP for a couple of days, which was due to pain and was something I was afraid of before surgery.rnOn my next visit back to Dr. Dyer he cotinued to address the aftercare and nutritional needs for my sucess. This was reinforced by visits with his staff to cover every area of my after care. I know that the surgery is a tool and combined with the other treatment efforts provided by Dr. Dyer and his staff I will succeed. Dr. Dyer is a competent and concerned physician. He is a matter of fact person so he will stress the process of following the plan as the means of how well you will do.

I have been trying to get my surgery for about 5 years. I already had Dr. Dyer choosen, before the approval was well in sight. rnFor me it had gotten to the point of not being able to breathe. Even to do simple tasks (ie, shower, laundry and so on) . This for me was not only WLS - it is a LE (life extension).rnrnJust wanna simply say \"thank you.\" Thank you, Dr. Dyer to you and you helpful and wonderful staff. rnrnI had my RNY performed on 11/25/2008 at Cent. Women's Hospital. Everyone and I mean everyone was wonderful. I have never been so well taken care of before. Dr. Dyer's post oprnaftercare was wonderfull as well. Especially, since I was there til 11/28/2008 (Yes - the day after thanksgiving.) WOW ! rnrnAgain, I wanna thank you Dr. Dyer and your staff for giving me another chance at the rest of my life. rnrnHappy Holidays, rnrnKarina Williamson

Friendly, easy to discuss process with Dr. DyerrnVery thorough with possible complications of surgery & what procedure would be done to try to solve the complication. Office staff was friendly and supportive. He is very dedicated, rnworked long & hard to do surgery laproscopicrnwhich turned out to be 8 hours on me due to scarring from earlier surgeries. He emphasizes that you need to do what he says for the best result after surgery. There are a rnnutritionist, exercise physiologist, office staff-allrnvery supportive & willing to answer questions.rnYou have an owner's manual to gastric bypassrnwhich is very well designed and informative.rnOver & over he addresses the patient's risk for the surgery, possible solutions to complications, & how surgery could improve your life. How would I rate him---well, I traveled 435 miles round trip to have him as my surgeon. A friend who had the surgery with Dr. Dyer recommended him highly. He was all the friend had told me. As for the surgical competence, it is great. Most surgeons probably wouldn't have stayed with me 8 hours so I wouldn't have to have the full rnregular open incision with longer recuperation time. As for bedside manner, he would sit down with you and spend some time with you asking questions about how things were going.rnHis time with me prior to surgery, the outcomernof the surgery, bedside manner, and follow up visits have all been handled in a caring manner.

Dr Dyer is a really great surgeon. My first impression was OMG he is so straight by the book and point blank (During the seminar and at the beginning of first office visit). I was afraid he was not going to be someone I would be able to communicate with openly. However, my first pre-op office visit he was so imformative and knowledgeable. He took time to ensure I was comfortable with my decision and understood everything that I was about to undertake. Dr Dyer was very honest with me about the risks of the surgery and what I could expect following the surgery. This was the point I realized how much I respected the straight forward no sugar coating approach, and gained a trust that he would be honest with me either good or bad. Dr Dyer's staff are nice and friendly, they have been open and honest and easy to talk to during my experience. Dr Dyer puts a large emphasis on aftercare and even makes it a part of every follow up appointment. I thought 7 years about this surgery and believe that after the soreness and first few weeks of post op stiffness reside this will have been one of the best decisions I have made.
