This surgeon is extremely knowledgeable and very compassionate. He spent over an hour with me explaining the procedure, risks, complications, expectations, etc. He answered all of my questions with great patience, and made me feel very at ease. I even asked if he is religious, and he disclosed that he is a born again Christian that prays before and after every surgery he performs. He is the answer to my prayers!
Very nice man, apprachable and made me feel safe. The staff was wonderful. He is all about follow up and makes all risk very clean cut and know to you up front. He ranks a 8 out of all the doctors I've delt with. I honestly have nothing bad to say about him. He has great bedside manner had long conversations with my concerned parents and always had a smile on his face even during early morning hospital visits.
And he's cute!
I love Dr. Christopher!!! He is the best doctor.....He explained everything to me before the surgery, and it was a breeze...I had it done laparoscopically, and had virtually no pain......I would recommend him to anyone....He is a dear friend, and a fantastic doctor, who definitly knows what he is doing..........
Thanks for everything Dr. Tim.......I have lost 64lbs, and had my surgery on September 13, 2004...

My first impression of him was how well he listened to me and how much he cared.I was so nurvus when I went to see him that my blood pressure was high. However, after talking to him I felt a lot better about the surgery.I trust him with my life because he also trusts in god and he belives that god will be there to guide his hand through all of this. Dr. Christopher is grest!!!!!!!!!!
Dr. Christopher looks much younger than he is and it throws you off a little at first. He's extremely nice and friendly which puts you at ease. He gives plenty of good information and he's an excellent surgeon. Other doctors described him as a perfectionist. He did my surgery and my husbands and everything went great. He also did the surgery for two of my friends and they're doing great, too. I've had a lot of doctors over the years and a lot of surgeries. I give him my highest recommendation.
He is a wonderful person, doctor and friend.
His office staff was nice everytime I have ever had to go to him.
Listen closely to everything he says, cause if he tells you something to do, then you need to do it.
The follow up care is very important.
He lets you know up front that they are risk in all surgerys, but also lets you know the good parts about the surgerys affect on a person too.
He is a GREAT doctor and I would recommend him to anyone!!!!
I was very impressed with Dr. Christopher. My impression of him has only gotten better. His staff was wonderful and very supportive. I don't know of anything I like least about him. He has been very good to me. I think his future patients should know he is very through and very caring. He did stress that I would have to walk and exercise to get the most benefits from this surgery. He didn't put me on a specific aftercare. I do exercise and I walk 6 days a week. He stressed the risks of the surgery. He also stressed the risks of not having the surgery. I would rate him a 10. I think he is the best all around. I have nothing but great things to say about Dr. Christopher.
My first meeting with Dr Tim Christopher in Alabaster was on Oct. 15, 2004. My first impression was of his staff. They greeted me with such warmth. The next amazing thing was that I didn't have to wait but about 5 minutes. I must say before going on that I moved to Alabama in April of this year and I have been through all of this before and was denied by Cigna. I have now met all their requirements and I am good to go again. So this visit I was so prepared. When Dr Christopher walked in the room I thought Lord he is so young. My only fear at this time was that he would say being 51 yrs old that I was to old, but instead he pulled up a stool and listened to me so attentively. He realized very quickly how much I knew about gastric by-pass. After trying for two years to have this surgery I should. He drew pictures on the board of just how he would do the surgery and the risks. I must say then the table turned and I interviewed him. I explained to him I have a choice in the doctor I would use. I told him that I even checked to see if he really was a member of the AMA. I also explained to him that the last time I was denied that the surgeon or my PCP had the right to call directly to the doctor at Cigna to try and overturn his ruling. Well guess what never would do that. I need a doctor who fight for me and I feel I have found the right one. He is compassionate, a great listener, and very intelligent. By the time my meeting with him was coming to a close I felt such a connection to him and one of trusting my life with him. I knew then that all my research paid off and I would highly recommend him to anyone.
Dr. Christopher was very easy to talk to, almost comfortable to talk with.
I feel the same, 9 months later, if not even more comfortable.
His office staff were very friendly, professional, and informative.
He's so cute, I hated to find out he was married! (ha!)
He feels after care to be very important, but will work with you. I live 2 1/2 hours away. So I can do phone visits every 3 months. It's very structured aftercare.
He's very Straight forward, matter-of-fact like when addressing the risks of this procedure.
He's professional, yet personable: on a scale of 1-10, a 9 3/4. (He's Married)
Both competant and a good bedside manner, of course both are GREAT!
