Leo Davidson Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

I was greatly impressed with Dr. Davidson at the seminar. That is where I first met him. I felt like I knew him because of all that i had read on the website. His bedside manner is great. He hides no information; positive or negative. He is a straight shooter but very positive about WLS. He emphasizes aftercare very much and i feel that If I follow his instructions, I will have great success. I highly recommend Dr. Davidson to anyone in the Lumberton or Fayetteville area.

I was immediately impressed with Dr.Davidson. He is very experienced with RNY and has done the surgery many many times with few complications. Dr.Davidison is uncharacteristic of most surgeons in that he has a very warm and caring bedside manner. I had several difficulties in dealing with his office. There was a great deal of communication problems and no one person seemed to be driving the process of getting the testing done and the insurance approved. I had to call many many times with little response. Finally I e-mailed Dr.Davidson personally to his surgical website and I finally got through. The whole process took me 6 mos and this was solely due to the office problems. The people at the office are very nice, just disorganized. My actual insurance approval took 1 day! The office faxed in all my paper work and the insurance company faxed my authorization letter the next day. I would suggest that any future patient take charge of the process from the beginning and find out exactly what needs to be done and who is responsible to do. I have not had surgery yet, so I'm sure I will add more after the surgery.

My first impression was that he was a totally commeted individual and whould do what was in my best interest. He completely went through the whole process and then answered all my questions. His staff was also very professional and friendly. UPDATE AFTER SURGERY: Everything I had heard about Dr. Davidson and my impressions of him and his staff has only been re-enforced to the maximum. Dr. Davidson is a very, very capable surgeon. I had total confidence in him before the surgery, because of the several visits and my talks with other people who have had him perform surgery on them and form comments from hospital staff that have worked around him. I feel so luck to have had Dr. Davidson as my surgeon –Thanks Dr. Davidson

Very personable. Very professional. Doesn't judge, treats. I like him. The staff if very friendly. The waiting room is big, very serene. The wait for the Dr., like any other is a day to day basis, he's a busy man.

6/26/03 I work with Dr. Davidson in the OR at CFVMC and have a lot of respect for him. I feel that he is truly passionate about this surgery to a point his practice is leaning more and more towards bariatric surgery. His technical skills in the Lap RNY are excellent and he has the compliments of his peers. I think his numbers are around the 200 mark and he has very little incidence of complications. He is always willing to answer all of my questions and address my concerns. At present time, I am having to go through an exercise/nutritional program for 12 weeks. At the completion of that, Dr. Davidson will reapply for my surgery approval.

My first impression of Dr. Davidson was, of course, guarded. He was the doctor who conducted the seminar. He seemed very informative and was willing to answer all your questions. His office staff is incredible; handling all the paperwork, as well as handling my impatients.

My first impression of Dr. Davidosn was excellent. He has a kind sprit to him and he is the type of Dr. that confirms that you have made the right choice. The office staff is great they are very supportive and friendly. To be honest I have no dislikes about Dr. Davidson. You should know that he is an excelent Dr. to choose. After care is Stressed by him and his staff. They have GREAT support groups and an open door for any concerns or questions. Dr. Davidson was and is straight foward with me. Overall he is a 5 being the highest. I am peo op right now but my mother did have him for a gall blader removal and when I met him then he is still the same as he is right now EXCELLENT!!!!! Let me express somethign I am one to give negative commebts where they are due but at this point I have none to say about this Dr. of his staff, the only thing that I could say close to negative is that I had a long wait at one of my appointments but what Dr. have you gone to and they wait has ALWAYS been short. Well until later that is about it for me.

Dr Davidson, is a very caring man and very concerned for my health and my fears.
i was very impressed by him when he showed to a support group meeting just to see how we were doing.

His staff is very helpful and if they dont know the answer, they will find it .no question is a dumb question

I fell people should know Dr Davidson is truely concerned about his patients and is a great choice and even though his work is done and my work is starting. He is there for us evey step of the way

Doctor Davidson and his staff were very upfront in the pros and cons of this operation and this was a life long process and not a over night fix

i HAD MY FIRST CONSULTATION ON OCT 31 WITH DR DAVIDSON AND FELT VERY CONFIDENT WITH HIM HE IS VERY INFORMATIVE AND DOES NOT SUGAR COST ANYTHING.
NOW LET ME UPDATE YOU ON WHAT IS CURRENTLY GOING ON. I KNOW THAT ALOT OF PEOPLE HAVE TAKEN INTEREST IN THE SURGERY. MY FRUSTRATION IS IN THE FACT THAT I TURNED IN ALL OF MY PAPERWORK OVER A MONTH AGO, AND HAVE HAD ALL OF THE PREOP TESTING DONE AND I STILL DO NOT HAVE A DATE. I CALLED THE DR'S ASSISTANT THE WEEK BEFORE X-MAS AND SHE STATED THAT SHE HAD SENT ALL THE INFO T THE INSURANCE SPECAILIST IN THE OFFICE TO BE PREPARED AND MAILED OUT. IT IS NOW A MONTH LATER AND I CALLED ON THE 20TH OF JAN AND THEY STATED THAT THEY HAD NOT SENT MY PACKET OUT TO MY INSURANCE COMPANY. THE PROBLEM I HAVE IS THAT I CONSTANTLEY CALLED AND HAVE BEEN AS NICE AS CAN BE AND PATIENT BUT THEY HAVE NOT BEEN RETURNING MY CALLS AND I AM GETTING FRUSTRATED NOW. I DO FEEL THAT DR DAVIDSON IS A GREAT DOC BUT I FEEL THAT THE SUPPORT STAFF THAT HANDLE THE INSURANCE IS LACKING SOMETHING. I AM NOT THE FIRST PERSON WHO HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM. I AM STILL WILLING TO HAVE THE SURGERY WITH HIM BUT I JUST WISH THAT SOMEONE WOULD GIVE ME SOME ANSWERS. I HAVE A FREIND AT WORK THAT WENT TO THE SAME SURGEON AND SHE DID NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM. SHE SAID I HAVE TO KEEP CALLING THEM. I GUESS I WILL....

I found a doctor in Fayetteville NC by the name of Dr Davidson he is at Village Surgical not far from the main hospital. He is very personable and seems to be a people person. They do have you go to a seminar before the surgery for educational purposes and they are very knowledgeable and very much want to educate each patient. I am very happy that I found him in my hometown. I found him witht he help of a co worker that went to him and another patient of his that worte me from my posting ont he web site. I have to go through all the testing. But i got a referal and am well on my way finally.

i love Dr Grant and his staff but I recently found out about a Dr in the city where I live that has had EXCELLENT comments and have afriend at work that has been to the same Dr. His name is Dr Leo Davidson. So I am goinfg to check him out before I decide also if anyone knows of a primary care Dr that is open to surgery let me know I live in Fayetteville NC THANKS

Updates 10 October 2002

JUST THOUGHT THAT I WOULD UPDATE/DECIDED TO TRY FIND A DOCTOR LOCALLY IN FAYETTEVILE AND WITH THE HELP OF SEVERAL PEOPLE FROM THE WEB SITE I DECIDED TO TRY DR DAVIDSON/WENT TO HIS SEMINAR THE OTHER NIGHT AND THE INFORMATIN HE GAVE WAS GREAT A LOT OF PEOPLE CAME I WAS AMAZED/ SO FARE HE SEEMS GREAT I HAVE GO MY FIRST CONSULTATION ON 31 OCT LETS HOPE ALL GOES WELL!!!

He is very personable and very easy to talk to he has a wonderful staff Dr Mcmahon amd his interist Dr Knowles. They really are taking the time to educate all of us in the proceedure.
Staff is GREAT so far/ Has the best insurance specialist named Beth Millard she handles everything.
Be prepared for them to tell you all the negitive and positive things with surgery/they do not surgar coat anything and are upfront about everything.
Stated how IMPORTANT after care is that they are in the long term and that we will be "FAMILY" for the rest of out lives
the entire program is VERY structured
scale from 1 to 10/10 being the best i would give the entire staff a 10 right now i am just in the begining but i feel very positive about the staff

Well, I went to see his educational seminar and he seemed really "with it" and sorta cold about the whole process but when I saw him for my consultation he was much more inviting and wanted to answer all of my questions. As far as the office staff, MELINDA has some serious issues that I feel she should work on . . .but other than that, it has been an enjoyable experience so far . . .I will update as I get further along.
