Dr. Davidson is the best, both in surgical competency and bedside manner. All the people I have met (including hospital staff) say he is the best I could have picked. His office staff is very helpful; they know exactly what to do to get the job done. I was amazed at how quickly everything progressed. I went to the seminar in June and my surgery was 9-6-05. He has a great aftercare program -- support group every month, access to them by phone or email at anytime, and a class with the nutritionist about 3 weeks postop. He is a kind and caring man who really knows his stuff. He lays it on the line about what you will need to do, the risks, and how WLS is not magic.
I was refered to Dr. Leo Davidson in 2001 for an emergency Gall Bladder surgery. He is by far the easiest Dr. to talk to. He is patient and is very willing t answer your questions and to explain if you don't understand. I had no idea then of Gastric Bypass and he shared some information with me then and told me that I would be a good candidate if I ever chose to have the surgery. I had no insurane at the time and so I put it on the back burner. Years past, I finally got some insurance and immediately made an appointment with Dr. Davidson in December 2004. He has been so supportive through all of this. He made me realize that this would save my life and that I deserved it. WOW that might not sound like much to you but it meant EVERYTHING to me.Dr. Davidson and his staff have taken me under their wing and I have not one time felt like they didn't have time for me. They have such a good team. If I had to go back and do this all over I would not change a thing. I have not found fault in anything they have done. I get quick responses, honest answers, and wonderful support with after care. If they are not 100 % sure of something they will find out. Please don't look any further the best place to go when considering Gastric Bypass is Dr. Leo Davidson and his staff at Village Surgical Associates.
I had been to another surgeon in the area and there is no comparison to the professional setup at Village Surgical Associates. I have chosen Dr. Davidson to do my surgery. He comes well recommended and his record speaks for itself. His staff has been great. He has WLS patients as part of his staff and this is a great benefit. Donna is great. I went in with all my tests completed and she has jumped right on in to get me approved asap. This means alot since I have been going through this process since March. I hope to have a date by mid-June. I would like to be a bit smaller by the end of the summer so I can enjoy a little of the warm weather. My husband is also scheduling a vacation for us late summer and I really want to be in better spirits. My son, who is 3, needs me to all the mom I can be. I appreciate the urgency that Donna and Dr. Davidson have placed on my case. It is like my family's whole life is on hold until we know a date. I feel that VSA is the best option for anyone in the area and if willing to travel.
Dr. Davidson is a bit geeky. I bet he got picked on in school. But hey, I LIKE geeky. It means he was studying instead of getting high. LOL. His staff is wonderful. Most of them are former bariatric patients themselves.
My PCP told me that Dr. Davidson is the best laporoscopic surgeon in this state. I have heard that from others as well.
I really have nothing but good things to say. Dr. Davidson and the folks at Village Surgical have undertaken to run a top-notch program. That they have had such an overwhelming number of good outcomes is a testament to their achievement of that goal.
All I can say is that Dr. Davidson and the staff at Village Surgical ROCK!!!!! Dr. Davidson is a quiet type of man but he was able to answer every question I had for him(including if I was allowed to wear makeup in the hospital lol) He is not the type of person to use 10 words when 1 will do but he is very knowledgable and even put my parents at ease. I would highly recommend him for this procedure. Village Surgical also has a support group and I am looking forward to attending a meeting.
My first impression was from a group meeting he has once a month. He did not seem to hold anything back good or bad about the operation and what life would be after.
One on one he is a nice guy and straight forward which I like.
Office staff was good like any office setup they work hard and with a lot of patients, so it goes best if you stay on top the process and make sure all the i's or dotted and the t's are crossed I was able to get insurance approval in 7 days after testing.
The whole staff and the Doctors are all about after care. Many of the staff are or have been patients so they really know the score and how it works.
As for as the Risk every surgery has risk Dr. Davidson let me know what they where and made sure I knew them. I was 415 at one point a year ago I only know that because I had Kidney Stone and had to have a Operation my scale at home could not weight me. I have only lost about 13 LB on my own 85% of all men 400+lbs do not live to 50 years old. So for me the math is easy live 8 to 10 more years and not do half the thing I would like to in life or take the risk adn live 15+ years and do the traveling and the camping and all the other things me and wife would like to do.
Over all right now I would rate him 95%, I am more worried about surgical competence than any this else I would like him to get more office staff for the number of patients he has.
I also hope to play a role in the support group I would like to see them more than onces a month.
He is very knowledgable concerning bariatrics. He is kind and compassionate.
Office staff are nice, and are very helpful in setting up all appt for workup evaluations. He only wants the best results for all patients. If you do not do what he says then you may not have the results that you want or you may not have your surgery if he sees that you do not have your heart in losing weight. He goes over all the risks of the surgery very carefully to make sure the patient understands all risks, and then the patients can ask questions. He is the only surgeon that I will let do my surgery. I feel that he is very competent and he has an excellent bedside manner.
My first impression of Dr. Davidson was though he was somewhat soft-spoken, he was professional and forth-coming with information and answering questions. His office staff is great - Donna is a terrific lady! Village Surgical sponsors a support group that welcomed me and answered questions, provided info, and related personal stories. These folks are quite an inspiration!
Very professional and technical approach.
Friendly and genuinely concerned about my success and long term health.
Knowledgable and extremely freindly.
Assumes patient knows the right questions to ask sometimes.
Honest and up front about your present and long term health. (The Best)
We are in partnership where we each have our part to do to be successful.
I've been to two different support groups and Dr. Davidson's SG & staff were the best.
That 1% die from the operation but I needed to weigh all aspects of surgery & obesity and decide what is wright for me. His bedside manner is good but genuine; however, surgical competence is great. Overall I would give Dr. Davidson an A
The first time I met him was at the seminar I attended. I liked him immediately. When they called me, I asked to have him as my surgeon.
I had several appointments and liked him more all the time. He was always straight with me, even when I didn't want to admit it.(He don't sugar coat it)
Everyone at his office is very friendly and helpful.
He took care of a problem I had been having with my legs for over 3 yrs and got it under control.
HE is very informational, and tells you like it is, but also is very nice and caring too.
HE did a great job on my surgery. I had complications due to my health, but he took charge, and I came though surgery great.
I think he is a great surgeon and guy.
I think both are great!
