Between Dr Davidson and Dr. Classen (The two choice Bariatric surgeons in my area), Dr. Davidson was more \"my speed\". He's a little geeky (also \"my speed\"), but quietly confident. Am I laying it on a little thick?? Sorry. *snicker*rnHe had performed a previous surgery, and I felt comfortable with him.
My first impression of Dr. Davidson was he was very nice. My impression of him did not change it just got better. His office staff really cares about you, most of them have had the gastric by-pass them self, so they really understand what you are going through. There is nothing about him I don't like. Future patients should know that he really cares about his patients and he will do all he can to help them. He could emphasize aftercare a little more. But in the short time that I have been with him that has got allot better. Yes he does have a structured aftercare program and its getting better all the time, but its up to you as the patient to stick to the aftecare program. Its worth it. Yes he addresses the risks very well. I would rate Dr. Davidson a 9. Both are great, his surgical competence and his bedside manner is fabulous. If you are in the area and are thinking of having the gastric by-pass done and you have talked to doctors in Pinehurst Please go see Dr. Davidson before you make a choice. Then make a choice after you meet Dr. Davidson please.
My first impression of Dr. Davidson was great. I thought he was very concerned about me and I felt he wanted to make sure that I understood everything about the surgery. I felt like his staff is one of a kind. There are currently two nurses that work for him that have had the surgery also. I think this is good because they can relate to what you are going through. I highly recommend him to future patients because he has great bedside manners and he will make you feel as comfortable as possible. Dr. Davidson puts you on the right track and he tells you how important it is to maintain your appointments as well as take your vitamins and calcium for the rest of your life. Dr. Davidson does have and aftercare program, which is one week after surgery then three week and then two months and so on. On the day that you get your surgery date he will go over in detail everything that could happen as well as what is expected to happen. I rate Dr. Davidson a 10. I feel that surgical competence as well as beside manners are both needed when you take the risk of having this surgery.
My first impression was he was down to earth. Spoke in laymans terms. I saw him first at a seminar he requires any perspective patients to attend before he sees them in his office. Then when I saw him in his office he had great beside manner. Talking to you, not at you. He had been a nurse before he decided to become a physician. This probably has helped him communicate more easily one on one. Most informative on telkling about the procedure and what will happen post-op. Have been told he was one of the best laproscopic surgeons around. He has a dietician that comes to his office that you meet with pre operatively and then several months after surgery post operatively. They also have support groups that meet evey month. Some of their staff have had bariatric surgery. This is a plus because they have been through similar problems or situations. I believe competency if important but when you put is with a great bedside manner you have a great physician
'I LIVE IN NC AND AM SURROUNDED BY GREAT HOSPITALS AND SURGEONS. I WAS ORGINALLY ACCEPTED AT UNC CHAPEL HILL A GOOD 2 HR. DRIVE. AFTER THINKING ABOUT APPTS. FOLLOW UPS ETC. I CALLED DR. DAVIDSON IN FAYETTEVILLE 45 MINUTES AWAY. BOY AM I GLAD I DID. THIS IS HIS SPECIALTY AND HE HAS NUMEROUS SKINNY PATIENTS TO PROVE IT.rnrnTHE STAFF IS SO KIND
my first and last impression of dr davidson is that he is one of the most caring dr i have ever met, he is very skilled and intelligent but doesn't talk "down" to you. he explained all the risks and benefits of the surgery. his bedside manner is great, and i adore him. i can't think of anything i don't like about him. my husband is having the surgery feb 14 by dr davidson. his staff are also very well trained and pleasant. i think you can and should have both surgical competence and bedside manner and he does!
I LOVE THIS MAN!!!!!!!!!!! I am so glad I've waited 9 years to have this surgery. I finally have a surgeon I feel totally comfortable with having my life in his hands. He is one of the most knowledgeable people in the bypass business. He is a straight to the point man. Doesnt talk around words. He didnt play around and make the surgery seem like some magic tool, he made me understand that there is work involved, and the benefits of why I personally need it. I've been to other doctors that have made me feel like they are just looking for that bypass money. I had anything but this feeling with Dr. Davidson.... He is in the business of doing what a real DR. does.... Helping to save lives!!!!
Dr. Davidson is wonderful! He seems to be a quiet man and very caring. In my first appointment, he explained the surgery in great detail as well as the risks involved. The office staff overall is very friendly. The PA is also great. She has a very bubbly personality. I feel that Dr. Davidson is very competent. I had no reservations about him performing the surgery. I didn't get to see him but a couple of times after the surgery. I saw the PA more. However, I felt well taken care of.
