Indukumar Sonpal Bariatric Surgeon M.D.,F.A.C.S.

My first impression of Dr. Sonpal was slightly jaded by the fact that I was so nervous about meeting with a surgeon in this program at CCBS. Dr. Sonpal put me at ease very quickly with his sense of humor followed by his genuine interest in my medical history and my decision to have gastric bypass surgery.

Dr. Sonpal was like a Angel ....He gave me my life back . Very polite and understanging of my needs. Excellent Surgeon. His office staff was great I felt very comfortable with everyone I can in contact with.
The least thing I didnt like about my surgeon is he is soooo skinny. ha ha ha

St. Vincents was a teaching hospital , I was advised in Pre testing what to eat during the whole time of my recovery period . what not to eat and what exerise program to be on . what vitamins I should take . Everything.
I would rate the whole experience as OUTSTANDING , From Dr. Sonpal to all his staff and the nurses were wonderful.

The only thing I could say negative is sometimes it takes the nurses a little time to answer the buzzer ...There are alot of patients. These are just my personal impressions.

I will always be grateful to Dr. Sonpal for the new life I was given as of Nov. 28th, 2001. I am thanful for his talents that allowed me to lose 145 lbs. I am 15 lbs. from goal. Before I had the surgery it was a chore just moving around and I am amazed every day of the way my life has changed. Thank you Dr. Sonpal! I think Dr. Sonpal and the CCBS staff and doctors are the BEST!

I met with Dr I.M. Sonpal on 6/23/03. I found him to be very friendlly and helpful. He went over my history and then gave me the oppertunity to ask any questions. I have heard many good things about Dr. Sonpal and he lives up to all that I have heard. I know he is one of the best surgeons in the state and possiblly the country. For this I am trusting him with my life.

I met with Dr. Sonpal on June 16th and was totally impressed with him. I found him to be very warm and very funny!! Now that I've met him, I am much more at ease about this process. He answered my "list" of written questions I had brought with me! He seems to be confident that this will go well, so I guess I do too!
The office staff, especially Melissa and Diane, are great...BUT they are always busy. Sometimes it feels rushed, but it's not something they can help, they're just that overwhelmed with more people like me!

I really liked him. He's humerous yet he answers your questions seriously. I feel he is up front and very helpful.

I met with Dr. I.M. Sonpal for the first time on March 14, 2003. I found him to be very kind and easy going. I felt very comfortable with him and am very happy I made the decisiion to see him. He went through my history and asked me some general questions. He also wanted to make sure I was sure about having this surgery. I know I am going to be in good hands with him.

I have met with Dr. Sonpal one time in a consult. He was very patient and answered all my questions. He is easy to understand and is very knowledgable.

My consultation was to take place a week prior to when it actually did on January 20, 2003. I was to meet with Dr. Schrieber, but his office called to change my appt. Dr. Schrieber was to report for jury duty that week and if I still wanted to meet with him would not be able to get into see him for another month...or could meet with another one of the surgeons. I chose to meet with Dr. sonpal. I did not want to wait another month. I waited a month already. Dr. Sonpal was a very nice, knoweledgeable doctor. I liked him from the moment I met him. He asked questions of me and asked if I had any. I did not have many questions since most questions were answered during the seminar I attended the month before. The staff that I came in contact with during my appointment were very nice. I did not wait long if at all to go back and fill out paperwork and be weighed. After which again hardley a wait went back to meet with the doctor. I was in and out in a very timely matter, but not rushed. All in all would recommend this doctor to anyone concidering having WLS. Dr. Sonpal was very professional and has a good sense of humor. I feel very comfortable in my choice.

*I thought he was actually very funny. He made you feel very at ease instantly.
