'I met with Dr. Fedorak for the first time today and I was extremely impressed. He spent over an hour on my consultation and he spent as much time asking questions and listening as he did talking. This was so refreshing because too many doctor's do not listen to their patients. He was very personable but also very professional and knowledgeable. He was very open and honest about the risks of the surgery and his practices results

Dr. Fedorak is the best!!! I found him to be reassuring, comforting, positive and supportive. Since my surgery 4 months ago, I have always found him to be one of my biggest fans. He is always happy for my success. The program at Penrose is top notch and one of the main reasons for the success is Dr. Fedorak. The presurgical care, the surgery itself and the post surgical care have been outstanding. I have never once felt that my concerns were silly or a waste of the staff's time.
My one negative, and this is minor, is that sometimes his office gets a bit backed up and that makes asking for advice difficult.
Overall, Dr. Fedorak is my idea of the perfect doctor.

I am extremly pleased with Dr. Fedorak. He is a wonderful surgeon. He is a very caring doctor and very patient and very understanding. When you go into see him you do not feel rushed and you feel like you can ask him absolutley anything. He has the best bedside manner in the world. I would reccommend him to anyone looking to have this surgery.

Well, I have only had my initial visit with him, but first of all, he seems genuine. The meeting wasn't a typical doctor's meeting. He was very thorough in helping me to understand the importance of being ready for the life-altering event. He is friendly, and what I have found out from his patients, his bed-side manner is awesome.

As for the office staff, his "front" woman is not friendly and really doesn't have what it takes to deal with the obese patients that go in there. We don't need to be treated special, but have a little heart and help us understand a little better what is going to be needed of us. In my case, she actually laughed while I was on the phone with her because I didn't understand something. She acted like I should already know it and made me feel like an imbecil .

Dr Fedorak impressed me with his warmth and sincerity. He talked to me privately about the possible complications, both physical and mental. I was assured that he see's performing this surgery as the most rewarding thing he is able to do for his patients. His office staff appeared efficient and competent. There appears to be a great aftercare program that includes seeing nutritionist for a year following surgery. This leads me to the thing I liked least about his office. Everyone must pay $750 up front for the nutritionist and the initial psych eval. I imagine they feel that once you've paid you will be more apt to follow up with the follow up. I'd rank him a 10 out of 10 so far. Pre bed side manner is excellent, his stats are excellent, we'll see about post op soon I hope.

My first impression of Dr Fedorak was that he was very caring and explained everything that i should know. He staff was very helpful and explained all the processes of getting approved. I believe that anyone thinking about WLS should research the surgery, and then when u see the Doctor ask as many questions as possible. This way you will feel much better about the doctor and have the confidence he is the one to start you on your journey. Every question I had for the doctor was answered very professionally.

I was pretty apprehensive going to meet Dr. Fedorak for the first time. I was pleasantly surprised! His calm and attentive demeanor immediately put me at ease. He was very thorough about what to expect from the surgery and what to expect afterwards. The office staff was helpful after they found out that the insurance covered this surgery. They wouldn't set an appointment until that though. I had to pay $517 up front for the intake process, since the insurance won't cover that. (bummer!) I didn't have any negative impressions about Dr. Fedorak. Future patients should write down any questions they have beforehand - I got into the exam room and completely went blank when he asked if there were any questions. The aftercare was emphasized as integral to the success of the surgery. The aftercare is provided by a department of the Penrose Wellness Center. He went over the risks associated with the surgery, but calmed my fears by telling me the percentages of problems that were associated with his practice. I would rate Dr. Fedorak very highly; he was very professional and thorough. His intake nurse (Barb) was very knowledgable in guiding me through the maze getting approval from the insurance company.

Dr. Fedorak spent over an hour at my first visit explaining the RNY procedure, it's benefits and risks and answering my questions and those of my husband. He was very pleasant and knowledgeable and struck me as a very compassionate person who is very passionate about his work. He was very honest about my co-morbidities and the risk factors for me as I have had difficulty with anesthesia and blod clots in the past, but was also very reassuring that he and the hospital team know how to deal with these things. He specializes in bariatric surgery and he does this procedure all the time. He is very professional and competant, but also very kind. The surgical coordinator for his group, Barb, is very helpful at first, but also very busy and hard to get ahold of. She is also kind of quick to say that she'll help with insurance issues, etc, but really isn't very helpful at all--I had a lot of trouble getting her to return my phone calls when they were concerning denials and appeals. The rest of the office staff is always very helpful and friendly. Aftercare includes nutritionist visits, cardio and weight training if you want it, & regular Dr. visits and bloodwork. I felt very at ease with Dr. Fedorak and would highly recommend him or any of his associates for those considering RNY surgery. I want a competent surgeon working on me--fortunately, Dr. Fedorak is both competent and has a good bedside manner.
