Ihor Fedorak Bariatric Surgeon MD, FACS

My surgeon is Dr. Ihor Fedorak. He is in my opinion, the VERY BEST! When I first met him, my impression was an instant connection. He was warm, persona,l yet very professional at the same time. Dr. Fedorak spent over an hour with me and my husband. He started at the beginning and went through the whole process. He was so thorough that I didn’t have any questions by the time he finished. He told me several times that he could provide this amazing tool but that it would be hard work. He made sure that I knew this was not an “easy way out”, but that it was “a way out”. Dr. Fedorak does several surgeries each week. He is a master at his profession. I just want to let him know what a difference he has made in my life, for my life is forever changed. I am so thankful that he has chosen this for his profession, for this is obviously his true calling! I am so blessed!

First impression was great, he seems very caring and very thorough.

I said it before in \"my story\" but I'll say it again... Dr Fedorak ROCKS!!!! He was SO awesome!! From the moment I met him to every time I go for follow up. He's just fantastic!! He's thorough, he's very patient, he answers all stupid questions I have. He's just so good. He's very detailed, and understanding. I am SO happy he was my surgeon!!! I don't know how things would have been differently had I anyone else as my surgeon!!! Oh - and while I was in the hospital after surgery... he came to visit me EVERY day!!! I have NEVER had a surgeon who actually cared, or seemed like they cared.

My first impression of Dr. Fedorak was that he was a very down to earth person. He was very informative. He also gets my sense of humor.rnMost of the office staff is very friendly and helpful. As with all offices, you will have a couple of people that just aren't all the personable. But, small price to pay. I don't have to deal w/ them all that often.rnDr. Fedorak is firm on aftercare. He explained all the risks of the surgery up front. He gave me examples of some of the things that have happened to other patients (no names of course!). He was even up front, that yes, he did have a patient that died. However, she did not die as a result of the surgery itself. She had other complications afterwards.rnI would give Dr. Fedorak 5 stars!!

Today I met Dr. Fedorak for my initial consult - and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I arrived about 20 minutes early, yet I was immediately greeted in the office, and all the preliminaries were completed prior to being told to take a seat. Then, I waited less than 2 minutes before being called. Jody finished up the paperwork, explained the insurance and program process, weighed me, and took me to a patient room. Dr. Fedorak was prompt and my appointment began on time - which was a pleasant surprise.rnrnI was immediately put at ease by Dr. Fedorak's matter of fact discussion about obesity. I felt as if I were being treated for a valid medical issue throughout my appointment. I especially appreciated his willingness to discuss his own record of surgeries with me. One of Dr. Fedorak's last statements to me was that I should only choose to have surgery if it is spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically appropriate to me. rnrnJust me. Not what someone else thinks or feels. I walked away knowing that I do want surgery - and I want Dr. Fedorak to be the one conducting it.
