I have only seen Dr. Simon once, at my first apt. He was very nice and very informative. He answered all my questions and was upfront about everything with wls. He performed wls on two of my sisters and did a wonderful job. I have the upmost confidence in him to do the same for me. He is highly recommended for this type of surgery. I am sure I am in good hands. I would reccomend him to anyone who is shopping for a surgeon for wls.

I am a "high anxiety" person who experiences bouts with panic attacks, especially when I have to go to the doctor's office! From the moment he walked in the door, Dr. Simon had me at ease and I never experienced any anxiety. He's a straight-shooting person with complete confidence in his staff. He recently broke his foot and I appreciate his ability to laugh at himself. He's human and compassionate. I'm happy to be under his care.

MY FIRST IMPRESSION OF DR. SIMON WAS THAT HE WAS IN A RUSH. BUT AS MY APPOINTMENTS BECAME CLOSER TO MY SURGERY DATE, THEN HE TOOK ALL THE TIME I NEEDED AT MY APPOINTMENTS TO ANSWER ALL OF MY QUESTIONS THAT WERE OF CONCERN TO ME. ALL OF DR. SIMONS OFFICE STAFF ARE VERY PLEASANT TO WORK WITH. DR. SIMON WAS VERY PLEASANT THE DAY OF SURGERY, OCT.25TH 2004. I WAS VERY NERVOUS AND KNEW THAT THERE WAS NO TURNING BACK. THAT MORNING I STILL REMEMBER A VERY WARM, KIND SMILE ON HIS FACE AND HE STILL REASSURED ME OF THE SURGURY. I CHOOSE TO HAVE THR RNY. AFTER LENTHTY THOUGHT OVER THE PROCEDURE, IWENT THROUGH WITH IT. DR. SIMON AND HIS STAFF WERE INCREDIBLE POST-OP. ANYTHING I NEEDED THEY WERE RIGHT THERE. I COULD NOT BEING TO EXPLAIN THE KINDNESS AND APPRECIATION I HAVE FOR THEM AND THE WAY THEY CHANGED MY LIFE!!!!! OVERALL I WOULD GIVE HIM A 10! EXCELLENT BEDSIDE MANNERS, AND COMPETENCE.

I actually have known Dr. Simon from a previous surgery (laparoscopic adrenalectomy) he performed on me 8 years ago. He was an awesome surgeon then, and I must say my opinion of him has not changed. He really tells you like it is, and pulls not punches. He will answer all of your questions honestly and without reservation. I know from personal past experience that he has a great bedside manner. He cares very much about his patients, and they are his number one priority. It can seem at times like he is rushed, but this is his personality, he really does take his time with you. The program at the bariatric center is very structured and he requires his patients to lose at least 5% of their weight prior to submitting their paperwork to insurance. This not only helps with the surgery, but also shows committment to the program and its lifestyle changes. They have quite an extensive aftercare program as well. It does take quite some time to get an appointment with this group. Also, as with any doctor's office, you could wait some time to see the doctor when you do have an appointment. Overall, I would rate Dr. Simon very high. From past experience both his surgical competence and his bedside manner were great, hopefully this has not changed.

Professional,
He actually cares about his patients, i saw him, not his underlings, all weekend of my stay, I had open surgey on a friday AM and was home by Monday AM. He can be brutally honest, whether you like it or not,but there is now ther way....... he is wonderf ull as is his staff and i owe them my life for if i had not done this then i may have been in a grave situatuation (health wise) or have passed by now. Everything was clearly explained to me the good and the bad and i would recommend him to any one who was curious even....... his staff and the wonderful nurses (3rd shift) were great through what was to be the beginning of a new life for me and my family......... the only problem was waiting 6 months for the surgery..............

I knew Dr. Simon from my lap choli after my daughter was born. He is very personalble and straight forward. He does not sugar coat anything and talks to you on your level. They have an extensive organized staff all in one office. They have the secretary, the LPN, RPA, Dietician, and muliple MD's to choose from. MY decision for Dr. Simon was not hard at all. The hardest was commiting to the surgery just because of fear of the unknown. It's a whole program with support groups and a succesion of appointments before you even have surgery to make sure you are changing your eating behavior before sugery. There are multiple surgeon's in the area. I could have had the surgery done SOONER some where else. TRUEFULLY if Dr. Simon wasn't doing the surgery I would NOT have the surgery done.

I first met Dr. Simon in May 2004. He was very nice and easy to talk to. I had an appointment every month thereafter and he just got nicer. He had a way of making me feel really at ease. His office staff is awesome. They know anything and everything there is to know about bariatric surgery. I had surgery on Sept. 7 2004 an d Dr. Simon was great. I had a lap Roux n y so I was only in the hospital two days. He was so nice every time I saw him. He addressed any concerns I had and did anything he could do to make sure I was comfortable. He also has other doctors who work with him. They are also great. I would recommend Dr. Simon to anyone. I drive 4 hours one way to every appointment and it is so worth it.

Dr. Simon entered the room with a big smile a firm handshake and making a joke. I knew I would be at ease with him. He went through the procedure and was very positive about my choice to have this done. He was honest about the possibility of me have to have an open RNY done due to the reflux surgery I had 3 yrs ago.
He was very up beat and his whole staff was the same and very helpful. He is willing to answer any questions and invites family to come and ask questions as well.
This was my first visit so I am limited to answering any more about him but will post more as my journey progresses.

My first visit was with Dr. Paul Cunningham ,he said I would be a good canidate for a Lap. So now I will have a visit with Dr. Howard simon

Dr. Simon is really nice , very direct and to the point. Honest about what could happen. He tried to talk me out of it, he laid the risk right out on the table to me.

The office staff is great. They are really super women and they have all your best interest in mind. Thye put alot of effort into you. You have to show then you are up to the challenge.

I would recommend Dr. Simon and his staff to anyone, they are goos people.
