He was a man of very few words, but the information he gave was great. I felt very secure with him and Dr Sonpal doing the surgery.... YES 2 surgeons at St Vincents in Cleveland. The office staff is great. very on top of it. I felt very comfortable there. If you want to know more feel free to contact me.
I really liked him a lot on my first visit. He asked a lot of important questions and he gave me a lot of information and answered any questions that I had. I think he is a great surgeon. The office staff was wonderful. I had Chris helping me out and he is wonderful. Dr. Schreibers patient should know that he is #1 in his field. They have a wonderful aftercare program and support groups. I look forward and have great confidence in his ability.
Dr. Schreiber is a no nonsense professional. He is extremely well versed in the field and I was duly impressed with the candor he displayed. After some initial problems with the scheduling staff (due to a lack of help that has been corredted) the process has been very smooth. The fact that I was able to get the reports and send them to my patient rep via e-mail was very helpful in expiditing the process. I was impressed how the group worked seamlessly with my insurer to gain approval for the surgery. This process takes time, but it importatnt to realize that all parties working together, without animosity, can get the job doene in a reasonable time. It is now onward and upward with a December 1, 2003 tentative surgery date.
I thought my surgeon was amazing!! He isn't a warm, fuzzy guy, which is fine, and he is, I think, the best surgeon anywhere!!!!!
I think the CCBS program, overall, is great. I have to say that I researched it all for over a yr and have attended support group meetings since then, too. You can't go into this blindfolded. It's a tough thing, and a serious one.
My impression of Dr. Schreiber was that he is a very intelligent man.
I wasn't surprised by his personality from reading others posts and such.
He is no comic by any means but I would darn sure rather have a great surgeon than a comedian! LOL!
I feel very confident in my decision with going with him as a surgeon.
Dr. Schreiber is a straight forward surgeon who is willing to answer any questions and is a very caring surgeon. After my surgery, Dr. Schreiber checked on me everyday to see how I was doing. I felt that he was very easy going and just a nice gentleman overall. He answered all of my questions before surgery and told me all of my risk factors and gave me an insight about the surgery, too. His overall performance as a surgeon would be a 10 on a scale of 1-10, 10 being the best and 1 being the worst. He is rated one of the best surgeons in Ohio and is being honored this fall of 2003 in the Cleveland Magazine for being rated as one of the top 3 surgeons. I totally feel that Dr. Schreiber is the best bariatric surgeon out there and he is the best when it comes to surgical competence and bedside manner. I give him a 2 thumbs up and recommend him for anyone who is interested in an Open Roux-En-Y Gastric Bypass surgery. Also, his one staff member Chris Unsinger has been very kind throughout the whole process before and after surgery and has a wonderful patient to patient personality along with the skills to be very helpful and informative and motivating. She also gets a 2 thumbs up for being a wonderful staff member of Dr. Schreiber's.
I met with Dr. Schreiber over a year ago and found him to be professional, concerned about how I thought I would be able to handle everything afterwards and was a very no nonsense type of guy. While I didn't get the warm and fuzzy feeling, that's not what I was looking for. I want someone who is good and I believe he is that. His staff has been really great. They communicate through emails mainly, but that is just fine with me as I am a big email junkie.
dr schreiber was very knowledgable-i really liked him. not real warm but stright to the point. ive only met him once so far. the staff was great!!!! cant say enough about how wonderful they are. doctor talked alot about after care. they have lots of support in place for u. and lots of info for your after care. the doctor did address the risks of wls. i give my doctor so far a very high rating. surgital competence is most important to me but both are great.
I found Dr.Schreiber to be a very dignified individual, polite and very professional.
He was attentive to what I had to say and seemed to take a very detailed medical history from me. He answered my questions and made sure that I understood what takes place during the surgery, by having me explain how the procedure works and why it works. He put an emphasis on after care and explained the 60/40 formula for success. The Dr addressed the risks of surgery not just in an objective way but he also spoke about the risks that are related to my own set of medical problems, which impressed me.
The office staff was very polite and efficient. I appreciate the fact that I did not need a shoehorn to fit in the office chairs. Chris Unsinger was very pleasant and reassuring as she related that she was a former patient and was willing to share a part of her experience as a patient with me, even showing me her before picture. I was impressed by that. I was not real crazy about the florescent lighting in the office waiting room, I think incandescant lighting would give the office waiting room a more calming feeling upon entering, because the first trip to the office is a stressful event. All and all I left the office and the consult with Dr Schreiber feeling confident.
