Helmut Schreiber Bariatric Surgeon M.D.,F.A.C.S.

I went thinking I would meet with Dr. Schreiber, but forwarded to Dr. Sonpal instead.
The consultation seemed routine, I walked away bit overwhelmed, as things progressed so quickly.
I had no strong impressions one way or other with Dr. Sonpal.
I really did not expect to get approval from the insurance, and actually from the doc himself. Thought I would immediately be turned away secondary to my depression.
I do have to get psyche clearance, but have found out that the psyche clearance is pretty routine with all the patients.

I had my surgery on June 28, 1999 with Dr. Schreiber. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about him and his entire staff. I was very pleased with all of the information I was given and the risks involved with this procedure. His nurse Karen is wonderful, and so is Julie, the nurse at the hospital. I am very proud to say that I chose Dr. Schreiber and often refer him to others. Since Ive had the surgery I have had some very minor setbacks, but Dr. Schreiber and his staff have been there with me right along the way and provided nothing but the best medical care, advice and encouragement.

Since my first consultation in Columbus with the BTC, I have another reputable doctor in my area who performs the type of surgery I want to have. Dr. Schreiber will be my surgeon and so far the group consultation was good. Quite imformative, although I had pretty much done my homework on this matter.

So far, I have found his staff to be quite helpful, but again, I went to them with insurance approval in hand. My surgery is now scheduled for October 1, so I will be able to evaluate everything better after that. Much of what I learned about Dr. Schreiber has come from his former patients and I always think word of mouth is the best recommendation.

I understand the aftercare program is one of the best, so again, I will know more later on.

I definitely look forward to having this surgery behind me, so I can move onto my rebirth.

My surgeon was Dr. Sonpal who is working with Dr. Schreiber. He is a very nice and caring person. He also must be a very good surgeon because so far every thing is going well. My impression of the Dr. has not changed due to my not having my first check up yet.

His office staff is the best!!!! I must of drove Sondra (office staff person) nuts. I was calling almost every day to see if she had heard if my insurance went through!! She was so sweet and understanding, and never got upset with me!!!!

I feel each person will be able to make there own judement about the Dr. We are all diffrent personalities.

I will be able to give more info after I return for my check up.

I met with him for the first time on August 3. I think he's great. His staff was very nice.

HE SEEMED ALITTLE CLINICAL TO ME, I FELT LIKE HE WAS NOT VERY SUPPORTIVE OF MY SITUATION, SINCE MY INS.CO. LISTS WEIGHT CONTROL AND OBESITY AS AN EXCLUSION.THE OFFICE STAFF WERE VERY SUPPORTIVE AND KIND UNTIL I GOT MY REFUSAL, THEN THEY DISMISSED ME ON TOLD ME I WAS ON MY OWN.I HAVEN'T HAD A CHANCE TORATE ANYONE AS I'VE NOT BEEN BACK SINCE MY INS. REFUSAL
