When I had my first visit with Dr. Schreiber I found him very interesting, He really wasn't much of a talker, I did the majority of the talking, I think I did that because I was very nervous, But all in all I found him to be very nice, but he got you outta there quickly ,, The office staff was pretty friendly, never really had a issue with them..

My first impression of Dr. Schreiber was that he was not only thorough in his explanation but he was very interested in my concerns and questions. He also adamantly pointed out that if there were any other way possible for me to motivate myself to lose the weight that I should do it because as with any surgery, there are legitimate risks along with the benefits. This, I liked, because he was not pushing surgery on me. I was very impressed. He not only put me at ease with his calm demeanor but seemed to sense my apprehension about asking questions, so much so, that I felt he was very willing to put things in terms I could understand without making me feel awkward. He was a true professional.

I have only seen the Dr. once so for at my inital consultation. He is very assertive, and quite matter of fact about the surgery and it's details. He is upfront about the longterm implication's and what kind of life syle change you can expect. He is well staffed with very compassionate and efficent people. He gives very detailed instrucions, has two year post surgery follow up plan.

I really was relieved once seeing the surgeon. I thought I was going to get to meet Dr. Schrieber, but I met with Dr. Sonopal, and I was put at ease. He has a great beside manner. and made me feel very comfortable. I did not have that many questions for him. Because of this wonderful website. But he was through and answered the ones I did have and explained how things are going to work from that day on. Overall, I would recommend him to anyone interested in this procedure.

Dr. Schreiber has a very straight forward, no frills approach. some may think his bedside manner is lacking but i wasn't looking for a friend. He is an excellent surgeon.
the office staff has been as helpful as i could expect.
i would advise others to not be as lazy as i am and get as much information as possible prior to the surgery. while the doctor was open for questions, i was too ignorant to know what to ask. as a result, some things occurred during my stay that were unexpected and i wish i had done more homework pre-surgery.
i am not sure what you mean by "structured aftercare program" except to say that there are written and video instructions for your 1st couple of months at home. i had 2 follow up visits so far (at 2 weeks and 4 weeks) and don't have to see them for 5 months.
The risks were addressed but again i wish i had done more homework to get a better understanding of exactly what those were.
Dr. Shreiber is a very competent surgeon and was very open to my questions and thorough with his responses.

I am still so impressed with my Doctor. Dr. Schrieber and his staff have been a wonderful support to me and I really appreciate that. I would continue to highly recommend him for this surgery.

At this time I've got mixed feelings regarding my surgeon and his office. I got the impression that I was not "seen" by the Dr. but was processed instead. Realizing that my date is 3-4 months out BUT have not received one iota of information regarding support pre-op preparation, post-op care, etc. - very dissapointing so far.

when i first went to see dr.schreiber, iwas with my best friend...and i had an appointment the following week..but he saw me at the same time..i was really impressed with that..his office staff is the greatest, and i felt so at ease it was a nice feeling..he went into the surgery and told us all about it, and answered all of our questions...he addressed everything so well that i had no doubts or hesitations...even though i only meet the doctor once i felt totally comfortable and at ease with him and feel that he is a compatient and knowledgeable person in his field..i have been to other doctors and i have to say that dr.schrieber, is by far the best in my opionion.....

First impression: was very down to busness.
Second visit he wanted to have me see another
physician to get scoped, to rule out any problems
lems I might have. I was sent to Dr. John Mar
shall, out of St. Vincents Hospital. I very
skilled physician who painlessly scoped me and
gave me great news that I was ok. I feel very
good about Dr. Schreiber,he was more worried about
my health and my future, to just jump into surgery
The thing I liked least about the doctor, nothing.
I will let you know about the aftercare program
as I go. Risk of surgery were addressed in a
preconsultation lecture and a hand out book written
by Dr. Schreiber were given to everyone. I would
rate Dr. Schreiber as a 10, his staff is a 10.
Being a nurse I put more improtance on surgical
competency, which I have been doing my home work
on and checking Dr. Schreiber out, I've talked
with other physicians, his patients, and I've
checked medical records. His manner was very
down to earth and caring.
As far as anything negative about my dealings
with Dr. Schreiber, I had to wait six months to
see him.
