I was given Dr. Schreiber's name from a co-worker who had the operation. He chose not to go with Dr. Schreiber because of his long wainting list and opted to have his surgery done in Columbus. I hate driving so I decided to try Dr. Schreiber. Boy am I gald. He and his staff are very professional in their approach to making the patient feel comfortable and well informed before the surgery. All questions were answered in a timely manner and all phone calls returned within the same day. I would recomend Dr. Schreiber and his staff to anyone considering this type of weight loss program.
Only had to waite 3 weeks from the time I made the appt. until I got to meet with him. He was great. He explained every-thing in great detail. He was easy to talk to and answered all my questions. I was very happy with him and his staff is great. They have alot to deal with and they handled it great. Thanks to all of you! Surg. date MAy 6, 2002. Hope to be moved up as everybody does! Thanks Tina
I felt he was very reassuring and confident with the surg. I came away with all the trust and confident in him and his staff. I cont. to direct my freinds to him for the surgery and will talk to anyone who will listen, about him. I feel that the information they go over prepares you for what is about to happen. I really didn't have a problem with the staff, however I was some what discourage with the wait of the appointments. I directed atleast 3 friends to the center and all 3 of them had thier appointment date move up, some by 3 months. I ended up waiting for 10 monthes from the time I first called to the surgery day.
My first impression was that I liked Dr. Schreiber. I had read that he was not friendly or had bad bedside manners. I found him very informative, serious and friendly. He is very caring and shows much concern for his patients. I was his last appointment and originally I was suppose to have my consultation with Dr. Sonpal, but he had an emergency. I waited an hour or the alternative was to come back another day, but I chose to wait and see Dr. Schreiber. I was most impressed that he did not rush and actually I was the first to go and he took his time and that says alot to me. I prefer Surgical competence over bedside manners. I felt very good about my meeting with the Doctor and rate him very professional.
Dr. Schribber seemed quiet, He asked me if I had any questions. I work a great deal and my visit fell in the middle of a very busy season so I did not even have one question for him. No time to think = no questions.
Well it really hasn't since I have only had time to see him at our initial visit and right before surgery, and then he had to go out of town. A Dr. Patterson covered for him and she was very sweet and informative.
The office staff is great, You see I have one of these quarks called MH (Malignant Hypethermia) spelled wrong. When I had my pre admission test I told them they said they would inform the anesthesia department. OOPS I checked a week before my surgery with Julie and she promply got a hold of the department to go over all details. Julie is very sweet and very thorough.
Don't know. He's good very strong aftercare instructions. Good program. said it should be a last resort after all diets fail I tried many many diets in 36 years. I can't coment on his bedside manner as he was out of town. However my surgery is healing nicely so he gets a +++++ there.
I anticipated a cold, clinical, God-complex personality. Instead, I met a man who seemed to truly care about the people he was treating. I didn't feel like a number, and walked out of Dr. Schreiber's office calm and confident I had made the right choice. The staff was helpful, but I personally found it rather difficult to get a few things resolved. My guess is that is due to the growing popularity not only of the procedure itself, but of this particular practice. Once they expand staff to accomodate, I think there will be fewer "administrative slip ups". Again, this is only my personal opinion. Aftercare is highly emphasized and they offer lots of opportunity to share your fears and experiences. CCBS has a great website, and I've referred to it often in the past several months. Dr. Schreiber was very honest with me in terms of risk. I know that being obese made surgery a risk. I was very confident, however, that this man had it under control. And here I am to tell the tale! Thank you God, Dr. Schreiber, Rhoda Zika, and everyone at Cleveland Center for Bariatric Surgery.
