Dr Merriman and staff came highly recommended by a friend. I have been very pleased with the care I received before, during and after my surgery. Aftercare is most important to Dr Merriman and he tells his WLS patients that once you are his patient, you are his patient for life. Dr Merriman and his entire staff are very competent and very personable. I will definitely recommend him to anyone who is interested in pursuing WLS.

My first impression was that Dr. Merriman was very knowledgable and professional. His office staff is very cooperative and flexible when working with your needs. I instantly felt at ease and had complete confidence in Dr. Merriman when I went into surgery. I must also comment that he did a BEAUTIFUL job with my incisions and my scars are already not very noticeable just 1 month postop. I'm grateful to Dr. Merriman and his staff for giving me this opportunity.

My 1st Impression was that he is very knowledgeable and strait forward about the entire procedure.My Impression has not changed he and his entire staff have been right on about my entire experience. His Office has gone way beyond any medical staff I have ever been involved with. I am 4 weeks post op today 3-15-05 and I have never felt better. I do recommend this Surgeon and his staff Highly. Dr. Merriman and staff are all about the Patient before during and after surgery.Dr. Merriman went over the risks of having the surgery several times to make sure I understood them completely.On A scale of 1-10 I would rate Dr. Merriman and his entire Staff A 12. I would say Surgical Competence is better but having both is where this Team of Surgical Specialist rate.

DR. MERRIMAN IS REALLY GREAT.. HE WAS VERY NICE AND DOES NOT PUSH ANYONE INTO HAVING THIS DONE.. IT IS STRICTLY UP TO YOU.. HE WAS VERY GOOD IN THE HOSPITAL ALSO.. HIS OFFICE STAFF IS VERY HELPFUL.. I BELEIVE OVER HALF OF HIS STAFF HAS HAD THE SURGERY AND ARE A HUGE HELP TO ME.. HE IS VERY DRY BUT TO THE POINT.. HE IS VERY KNOWLEDGABLE AND I AM VERY GLAD FOR THAT.. HE IS VERY SUPPORTIVE OF YOU BUT HE DOES NOT WANT YOU TO FOCUS ON WEIGHTLOSS AS MUCH AS HE DOES THE WAY YOU CHANGE YOUR EATING HABITS.. HE IS MORE LENIENT THEN OTHER DRS ARE THAT I KNOW ON YOUR DIET AFTER SURGERY.. HE WANTS YOU ON LIQUIDS BUT HE DOES NOT CARE IF IT IS SOUP OR MASHED UP POTATOES AS LONG AS THEY ARE EASILY DIGESTIBLE.. I WOULD HAVE THE SURGERY OVER AND OVER AGAIN WITH HIM.. I LOVE HIM.. HE JUST GAVE ME THE BEGINNING OF MY NEW LIFE.. I WOULD SAY HIS SURGICAL COMPETENCE IS BETTER THAN BEDSIDE MANNER WHICH WAS FINE WITH ME..MY MOTHER HAD THIS SURGERY 7YRS AGO WITH ANOTHER DR HERE LOCALLY AND HE WAS MUCH BETTER WITH BEDSIDE MANNERS.. THAT IS THE ONLY MAJOR PROBLEM I HAD WITH DR MERRIMAN.. LISA

My first impression of Dr. Merriman was great. He really made me feel like I was his friend as well as his patient.
He was very thorough when answering all of my
questions and I believe in honesty no matter what
the results are. The staff is very sweet, helpful
and understanding. Most of all very patient.
There is nothing I feel bad about or dislike about
Dr. Merriman or his staff. I would recommend
him to anyone in need of major or minor surgery.

At this point all I have is an appointment scheduled for January 8th. I will post my thoughts about Dr. Merriman at that time. I can say his office staff is very nice and helpful.

Meet with Dr, Merriman today. Very perfessional man as well as personable. Knows when to be serious and when to joke. My husband and I were very comfortable with him and his knowledge on the surgery.

Dr. Merriman has a wonderful staff that goes well beyond to keep you happy and updated on things.

Linda called today to let me know that I had been approved by Cigna. She is wonderful and keeps you updated on every little thing. She has been an angel in this for me as well as the other people in Dr. Merriman's staff.

I am now post op and I can only say good things about Dr. Merriman. He is a wonderful caring Surgeon and believes in what he does. He is very strait forward and expects you do help yourself. He has a wonderful staff and has recently started a support group that meets monthly.

I have had previous experience with Dr. Merriman in 1996 he removed a paploma from my breast. I decided to visit him again because he was so caring with me during my breast surgery, even though it wasn't a major deal. His personnel are great, one of his nurses has even had the surgery herself, and she is really a wonderful asset to his program. And speaking of programs, Dr. Merriman is starting a new completely comprehensive program to help his patients before and after surgery that includes a dietician, physical therapist, counselor, etc. They will help me start an excersize program when I am healed and ready.I think it is going to be great. And best of all, he has begun performing the surgery with the laperascope! (I hope I spelled that right) He is the only doctor in our area that is utilizing the lap as of yet. I meet with him on May 3rd for more info...

Great no-nonsense surgeon - not very strict on what foods to eat. Outstanding staff.

I really like Dr. Merriman. He made me feel more comfortable about the surgery. He was helpful and honest. His staff has been really nice so far. The first time I went in everyone was so nice, even the other patients in the office. It was not one where you sit in silence and stare at each other. He explained that surgery was the first step. By far the largest but only the first. He really stressed health afterwards. That impressed me because I see so many who have had the surgery not taking care of themselves. He suggested seeing a nutritionist and told me about the new bariatric center. He made me really confident in the surgery. I have not yet had a bad experience with him nor his office. However, I have only been there once and only contacted them a few times. But so far it is going great.
