George Eid Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Eid is a very experienced surgeon. My surgery was more difficult than the average RNY due to multiple adhesions and a severe hiatal hernia. He completed the surgery laparascopically and did a great job. He has great bedside manner. The whole experience was fast and easy. My first appt with him was in Sept 2012 and my surgery was January 3rd, 2013. They expedited everything very efficiently and accomodated my very specific situation. I had a very small window to have the surgery done and they were able to pull it off. The after care is great as well. Dr. Eid does have a dry sense of humor as previously mentioned, but I love it and he is great!!! I would not make any other choice if I had to do it over...

What can I say?? Dr. Eid performed my surgery through the VA in Pittsburgh and he was outstanding. He and the VA staff exceeded my expectations. He does have a dry sense of humor which is alright with me because as long as you know what you are doing, you are OK in my book.

He used the "spider" method on me and I could not be happier at almost 1 year out.

I would recommend him.

My Sixth Week Anniversary - I am so pleased with Dr. George Eid's team at Magee Women's Hospital in Pittsburgh. I was scheduled for my first fill today and I was so relieved that everything went so well.

When I decided to pursue weight loss surgery, I was convinced I wanted a female doctor since I figured that a woman would really get what being overweight felt like. Anyway, when i went to the seminar, Dr. Eid happened to be the doctor presenting. I felt comfortable with him instantly. He was kind, humorous, intelligent, and experienced. So, suffice to say I changed my mind about the female doctor thing. Anyway, when I got to meet him individually for our first appointment, I felt like I was in good hands. He explained everything and answered all of my questions. He took his time with me, and that was important. His staff is awesome. They have always been there for any questions that I have especially his physician assistant, Vicky. I had some acid reflux issues, and she was on top of it. I would definitely highly recommend Dr. Eid.

After attending WLS informational seminars at several other hospitals I met Dr. Eid. Immediately I knew that he would be my surgeon. His experience, reputation and overall personality impressed me right away. I couldn't have put myself in better hands. He doesn't pull any punches, is honest about everything from the beginning, and does not pressure you. He is very open and shows concern for his patients.rnrnIf i had to do it all over again, i would...but only with Dr. Eid.

My first impression of Dr Eid is that he is a wonderful, caring soul!!! He really put me at ease and answered all of my questions (even though he was running really late that day and could of blew us off). We will meet again after all of my preop testing is completed.

Dr Eid is a kind natured man. He is educated ,informative and takes times to answer and ask all questions. The staff is excellent as well.Im quite happy I choose Magee Hospital! :0)

My first impression: He is very knowledgeable in the bariatric surgery field. He has performed over 1000 such surgery's to date. The Pittsburgh VA Medical center has a zero mortality rate to date. rnrnAfter Surgery Comment: Dr. Eid is very skilled is his field and I stand by my first impression.
