Gary Harrington Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

He did a friend of mine a few years ago but I have not able to locate him. I heard he is now in Virginia? Does anyone have his new office number? I would like to schedule a meeting

Dr. Harrington is very prefessional and patient and tells your like it is. I would strongly suggest that Dr. Harrington be added to your list of possible surgeons to consider if your having surgery in the DC Metro area.

Dr. Harrington's first impression on me was that he was very professional, has a calm almost \"gentle\" manner. His bedside manner is great! He asked alot of questions which made me more comfortable in his abilities. If you have a doctor that doesn't ask alot of questions, then you should be nervous. I work for a doctor myself, so I know what to expect. Dr. Harrington definitely exceeded my expectations. The office staff is very friendly - which is a plus. They actually sound sincere and are very helpful. Aftercare is very big in Dr. Harrington's practice and they have support groups lined up for you to attend. I haven't had my surgery yet, but I am learning all of his processes as I go. I would definitely recommend Dr. Harrington to anyone, especially since I have had to bascially \"investigate\" whom to see in my area. Of all the hospitals, I felt more comfortable with Dr. Harrington.

Dr. Harrington is kind surgeon. My impression has never changed about him. He was my mother's surgeon when she had the gastric bypass, so I trust him and know he is a great surgeon.he just moved offices so it is hard for me to describe them because of the big move but I can say they are friendly. I love everything about dr. harrington and his staff.He looks very serious and like he is going to be mean but he isn't.He emphasizes a lot about aftercare.Yes, He does have a strict aftercare but that is good.He addressed the risk wonderfully and made sure my husband and I understood all of them.Rating 1-10 I would rate him an 11. Both are great.

My first impression of Dr. Harrington was his quiet calm demeanor. Very charismatic, yet very confident and knowledgeable. I still see him this way and after being a patient for 4 years nothing has changed. rnrnFor those about to move forward and take the step to see Dr. Harrington, DO IT! HE WILL HELP YOU CHANGE YOUR LIFE. Again very, calm, knowledgeable, and patient, patient, patient with you. rnrnI can say aftercare, he was very attentive and still is after 4 years, you as the patient must adhere! He would tell you Ive been quite stubborn thru the years and dont want to listen, but he never gave up on me!rnrnSurgery made me nervous and anxious. I remember the day of surgery his very words were if you arent nervous or scared there is something else wrong with you. ITS SURGERY, ITS NORMAL to feel this way. He tried to make my husband and I both feel more at ease, confident that although there are definitely risks he would do his best to take care of me. He is an excellent surgeon, a very caring human being and would do and help no matter what. I am so very greatful to my friends who referred me to his office and that I had the pleasure of having him help transform me and get my life back.

When I first listened to Dr. Harrington at a Pre-op Meeting, my first impression of him is that he is very calm, very thorough and very understanding of the problems obese people face. He explained the surgery and everything surrounding the surgery in a very thorough manner. My impression changed over time in that I became even more positive that he is very capable and that he is the surgeon for me; also because he is so patient and answered and still answers all my questions. He also addressed the issue of risks and I appreciated that part as well because we all know this is not perfect, but just a tool as Dr. Harrington emphasizes. Through his words I have learned that the rest is up to me. I rate him at A1, top of the line. I am thoroughly satisfied up to this point with him and his aftercare. You ask, which is better, I must say surgical competence for sure, but he also has a great bedside manner and therefore I have to say both are great!rnrnAt this point, I do not have anything negative to say about Dr. Harrington and I hope I never do. So far I am satisfied with him and his staff.rnrnTo a person facing the issues we have to deal with, I am still very happy I made this choice and chose this doctor.

I switched from another doctor, and I am glad that I did. The staff are great, very knowledgable, easy to work with, and with empathy. Dr. Harrington is very skilled at what he does. Everything went very smoothly; I had none of the issues that we read about. everything has progressed very well. rnrnHe works out of Holly Cross Hospital, and Holly Cross has a very well organized program which is utilized by Kaiser (Dr. Cantor). Therefore, They have a large program, and a large support group program which meets twice a month. The support group members are nice, and its an invaluable resource. rnrnDr. Harrington's is smooth as silk.

my first impression about doctor Harrington, He cares and understand his patients, i love Dr. harrington he is good doctor, He has a very good office and staff, there was not one thing that i could find wrong with him, furture patients need to know that Dr. Harrington is the best doctor i know, aftercare is great when i had my panniculectomy done he came to my room 2 twice and call me when i was home just to make sure everything was okay, because i had mrsa on my stomach doctor Harrington told me that either the mrsa will go away or i will still have mrsa but either i had to have an IV placed in my arms for the rest of my life or try surgery and i had surgery sept 2007 mrsa is now gone. Dr Harrington is very, wonderful doctor, he really care about his patients, he understand what the patients is going through and when you have a doctor that has all those qualitys you have the best.

When I first say Dr. Harrington, I thought, WOW, he's Handsome! That's what I want to see before I go to sleep in the OR...LOL! After he began talking about the RNY procedure, I thought, he is something special. He was very calm, patient with the group, answered all of our questions, and he even remembered a family member of mine who HIGHLY referred me to him. I am so happy that he is my Doctor. I cant tell you how important it is to have a Doctor that you like and TRUST. I've heard nothing but GREAT things about him. My cousin had NO complications after her surgery with Dr. Harrington. I thank GOD for sending him in my life. I'm looking forward to my surgery on 1/31/08. I'll be sure to report back in February after my surgery. Cheers!!

Dr. Harrington during the first visit showed to be a doctor who's caring and concerned about his patients and their welfare. He answers all your questions and he lays out the risk as well, but once I left the office I was confident that I had picked the right surgeon. His staff is incrediable, they are there to answer your every question and always returns your calls if you have questions. If I had to do this all over again Dr. Harrington would be whom I would go to hands down. When anyone ask me about this surgery, I know with confidence that I have know problem in giving Dr. Harrington's name, he's the best!!!
