Dr Vaughn was very thorough in explaining the procedure on our first visit to the BTC. He answered all of our questions and was very patient and understanding.

I brought my cousin Penny with me to my consultation with Dr.Vaughn. I am the type that thinks of questions to ask 3 hours later and Penny is a good "Devil's Advocate". We were both impressed with Dr.Vaughn. He answered all of the about 30 questions we had to ask. He told us about his background...where he's from,schools, and where he has worked. Dr.Vaughn was like talking to an old friend...very down to earth and personable. I feel totally comfortable with putting my life in his hands!He explained the risks and complications thoroughly. No complaints from me at this time!

My first impression of Dr. Vaughn was that he was easy going and very knowledgeable. The staff were all nice. The doctor answered all of my questions and addressed all of my concerns.

I went to Bleivdare Ill. yesterday to have my counseltion. went great!! I am so excited the surgeon I talked with was great answered all my questions he spent 2hrs and 45 minutes with me made me understand all that was going to happen and what to expect. His staff was wonderful answering and helping me to understand it all 2 of them had had the surgery and told me there story. But I met a lady there that had come in for her first visit she had weighted 253 lbs before her surgery and today was 1 yr and she was down to 125 was my mind made up then. Then dr. explained all of the risk the foods everything that I asked he explained in detail. I think this Dr has done a wonderful job in helping to get me started on the right track to a healthly me now just to get the insurance to cover and alow me to set up my pre-op will keep you posted

I got to meet with Dr. Vaughn on Tuesday January 7th, 2003. He seems very honest and knew all there was about the surgery good and bad. He was great with my husband and the questions he had. My husband is very worried about me having this surgery so if you get my understanding about his questions... The staff at BTC was very nice, i enjoying getting to meet with the counselor that had the surgery done already. She was very nice too and answered all my questions. I look forward to having Dr. Vaughn as my surgan, i am waiting on insurance !!!!!

I met Dr Vaughn initially at my consult appointment. He was very thorough, went over the steps of the procedure, over my health history making sure I was a good candidate for the surgery and what recovery/long term would be like. On the day of surgery I was his first patient and he was right on time, energetic for so early in the morning, and my surgery was over in 1 hour and 10 minutes. He came personally to ck on me in my hospital room the next two days, and then another surgeon came to answer any questions the last day. I was very pleased w/Dr Vaughn -- and my incision, which I was expecting to be quite long and ugly, is only 4 inches and 1-day out of the hospital (so 4 days post-op) is healing perfectly!!

I thought that he seemed to be a really nice man. I felt very comfortable in his company and felt that he really knew what he was talking about and he explained it to me in a fashion that was easy to understand.

This guy is VERY personable. He was very confident and presented himself as a caring friend as well as an educated doctor. I was very pleased with his detail, he talked to me for over an hour and answered every question and drew pictures to help illustrate his points. He was very helpful and I am looking forward to receiving his help again if needed. I did have some problems reaching him with additional questions that have arisen, I have left 2 messages so far and haven't had a response yet.
