Dr Hall is the best surgeon around. He cares about you and makes it a point to check in on you every day while in the hospital. He takes no chances with your life. I personally had complications and he did great with me. Made sure that the hospital staff took good care of me. His office staff is top notch. I would recommend him to anyone that is interested in the surgery. You will love him and his staff Carol and Jessie. They constantly keep in touch with me through email. Dr Hall covers the risks very closely and wants each of his patients to know all there is to know. They have a great after care program on the internet. I would rate him a 10-plus. I really have no negative thoughts about my experience or my doctor. Dr. Hall cares about his patients and is honest with each one of them.

Dr.Hall is a very competent doctor that knows what he is doing. He is also very matter-of-fact about and doesn't sugar coat anything...which I found to be quite refreshing. He really goes after all the pros and cons and lets you know exactly what you can expect. His staff is WONDERFUL especially Carol..she's just the sweetest thing ever along with Delores!

The surgeon that I chose was Dr. Hall in Lubbock, TX. My first impression was that he was a very quiet, serious man. He is very thorough and explains everything, including complications extremely well. During the consultation with the group, I found that he had a sense of humor. Overall, I think he is an excellent surgeon and a very nice man. The office staff (Carol) was wonderful, very kind and caring. I am also very impressed with the length of follow-up care which is 5 years. They want to hear from each patient on a monthly basis.

So far I havent met the doctor. But, from what i read he is top notch, no problems. The LOMN is awesome.

The first time i met him was brief, listening to lungs, asking me a few questions. He seemed pleasant enough.

Then the consult, he layed out mostly the negative about the surgeries.

The staff was pleasant and helpful.

Saw him everyday after the surgery in the hospital. They are very strict about not just laying around, moving.

I had a very uneventful surgery, he knows what he is doing.

I have not met Dr. Hall yet. My surgery is on Feb. 8, 2002, and I will meet him the day before. It's a little scary not knowing him first, but it sounds like he's a good doctor. Any comments are appreciated jf263@cox.net

Dr.Hall is an awesome doctor. He has a great sense of humor and is very adamant that his patients know all the pros and cons about the surgeries. His staff is great and makes you feel like family on day one!

I was very impressed with Dr. Hall from my first visit with him. As with most doctors, he does not mix words and is ready and able to discuss the positive and negative consequences of either the rny or the vbg surgery, including blood clots and death.

Having weight loss surgery is such a factual route to take, yet weight control is such an emotional issue. I think Dr. Hall did a good job of explaining the two different areas and gives his patients everything they need to know to make sure the two work together.

I would say his surgical competence is better than his bedside manner, and as my surgeon, I would not have it any other way!

As far as negatives, I did feel "rushed through" on the day of my testing ... almost like another number in line. There were 7 other people going through the process with me, which probably added to the chaotic atmosphere. He came to visit every day in the hospital and stressed that I was on my own to make sure I got enough exercise and followed the program. If you need to be babied to follow a program, I would not suggest this one.

Dr. Hall is a very intelligent man who takes a lot of time to explain the risks of the surgery. At one point I even asked him the benefits because he went on and on about the complications. He wants you to be sure that you are imformed. His staff is wonderful...especially Carol and they visit you in the hospital every day. Delores with Compass is wonderful too. Future patients should realize that he gives you almost NO reason to have the RNY surgery. He scares you out of it because of the complications he goes over. Also, if you want a LAP procedure this is NOT the DR. for you. His guidelines are very strict as to who can have the lap and who cannot. One girl that was scheduled the day after me was scheduled for a lap and he had to open her up in the surgery. My impression is that he feels the VBG is the safest surgery and he is most comfortable performing it as an open procedure. Overall, I felt very safe having a surgeon who has performed so many of these procedures. I would have preferred a lap procedure but I was so worried about dying that a scar was the least of my worries. His aftercare program is strict but it guarantees weight loss.

I have not met Dr. Hall yet. I have heard that he is a wonderful surgeon, and that the Compass program is a very good one. I will update after I meet him.

Dr Hall was probably the nicest, most sincere Doctor I have ever been to. He is definately the most thorough. I had to sit through a 4 hour talk of what to expect and the different types of procedures that could/would be done. When I left his office, I was confident that Dr. Hall was the right Dr for me.

The first people that you meet at his office are his 2 nurses Carole and Jessie. They are 2 of the nicest people. Both Dr Hall and his nurses visit every day that you are in the hospital, they answer every possible question that you may have.

I am 6 weeks post op and can honestly say that I would definately recomend Dr. Hall and his staff to anybody considering having bariatric surgery.
