I recently moved to VA from Iowa. Not knowing what kind of surgeon I was going to end up with I was very nervous about meeting a new one. Dr. Elliott met with me and took the time to get to know me and asked several questions about my surgery and how I felt it was going. Not only was he very professional but he took the time to answer my questions and doesn't have the God complex.

I am glad I chose him as my new surgery provider.

Dr Elliott is an excellent surgeon that cares about us and reaching our realistic long terms goals. While he may, at first, come off as a dry humored and sometimes quiet physchican, anyone will quickly learn about his compassion in helping people with weightoss and the right desicision for each person. I personally feel he gets to know you as a person as makes his decisions based around you and the lifestyle you live.

Surgery day was fantastic, I was up and walking around just a few hours later and back to my normal self the next morning.

I think that if you are considering weight loss surgery seriously, you should schedule a seminar appointment with Dr Elliott to see if you guys can be a right match.

Dr. Elliott is professional. He isn't going to make you feel all warm and fuzzy. This was not an important aspect for me. It would have actually made me uncomfortable. So he was PERFECT for ME. That being said, I love this guy. He is thourough. He is more than competent. His staff is wonderful (THANKS MICHAELA, RONNIE AND PAM). He follows up with his patients. He tells you exactly what he expects from you. I would choose Dr. Elliott all over again. I have not had one problem since my surgery and don't anticipate having any. I didn't even need a drainage tube. He is a wonderful surgeon!

I went to the seminar with Dr. Elliott and from the first time and I was immediately impressed. Dr. Elliott and his staff are amazing. They are so supportive and I really believe they make in a difference in their patients success. I would recommend him to anyone who is even thinking about having weight loss surgery. I have known other people to have this surgery with other surgeons and they do not have nearly as much education and support as Dr. Elliott strives to provide his patients. I am thankful to have found Dr. Elliott!

When I first met Dr. Elliott, I thought he was amazing. He was caring and he didn't waste time getting right to the point. He told me what I needed to do to get the surgery and he stayed with me every step of the way. Over the past 2 years, my impression of him has fluctuated. Ther was a time, when I didn't think he cared anymore because I was suffering with an undiagnosed illness and he wanted to keep me focused and I did not think he cared about what I was going through. I know now, that the reason he was pushing me was to help me. I still believe that he is the very best gastric surgeon in Richmond. I have met with more than one. His office staff is just as amazing as he is. They are always there for you and incouraging you to succeed. Dr. Elliott has a lot of fans here. I recently went to my first support group and everyone there had their surgery done by him and stood by him 100%. Overall I would give Dr. Elliott a rating of a perfect 10 with his outstanding surgical competence and his warm bedside manner, he is truly a gift to all gastric patients.

I first met Dr. Elliott on my initial visit in September '09. At first he seems to be all business. He gets right to the point. I left the office visit wondering if I had chosen the right doctor. Well, let me tell you, there is no doubt in my mind that I chose the right doctor! Dr. Elliott was wonderful during my surgery and made sure I was pain free. He would not let me off the hook when it came to walking after the surgery. He called the nurse at 11:30 pm to check on me and to tell the nurse to make me walk! LOL. He won't stand for you having any complications!rnrnThe office staff is very nice. I had a few complications after the surgery and his staff called me at home to check on me and make sure I was o.k. I had a stricture and an ulcer after my surgery and Dr. Elliott was sympathetic to my pain and understood just how sick I was. He came in on his day off to preform a medical procedure. He wouldn't make me suffer over the weekend.rnrnI'm a person who is put at ease with humor and Dr. Elliott is not a humorous person. He is very serious about your care. After I got to understand this in him, I was so glad I chose him. I went into my surgery with peace of mind. I knew he was experienced and competent and that I was in capable hands.rnrnWith Richmond Surgical Specialists and Dr. Elliott, you are going to receive great care before and after surgery. Tools are given to you through classes and office instruction to help you be a success. Dr. Elliott recommends that you attend support groups and meet with a nutritionist.rnrnDr. Elliott and his staff made sure that I was very prepared for my surgery. It was mandatory that I attend a class before my surgery to help me understand the do's and don'ts before and after surgery. Dr. Elliott carefully and thoroughly explained the risks of surgery and how important it was to walk and hydrate after surgery. rnrnI would, without hesitation, rate Dr. Elliott a 10 out of 10! Don't let his, \"matter of fact\" personality put you off. Take comfort in the fact that you are going to be treated with respect and given top rate care with Dr. Elliott and Parham Doctors Hospital!

Having weight loss surgery was a huge decision that I didn't take lightly. One of the biggest considerations for me was with my busy travel schedule I needed to feel like the support from my surgeon and his office would be there for me while I frequently traveled cross-country. I can tell you that from the first time I met Dr. Elliot, I felt like I had the support of not only Dr. Elliot himself, but his entire staff. This support has only increased since my weight loss surgery in April of 2009. Michaela, Elise, Ronnie and the rest of Dr. Elliot's staff are incredible. I love the fact that I can communicate with them through email if need be and I never have to worry about them getting back to me! Dr. Elliot is a straight to the point, no-nonsense surgeon who I would recommend to anyone thinking about weight loss surgery.

My first impression of Dr. Elliott was he was straight to the point. It changed a little cause I never saw him laugh, but some doctors are different. His office staff is incredible I luv them. There's nothing I dislike about Dr. Elliott he is awesome. Future patients should listen to Dr. Elliott he knows whats best for each individual. He is stronge on aftercare and encourages you too stay on task. One of the reasons I choose Dr. Elliott was he has booklets he give you breaking down the things and tools you need for aftercare very detailed in his books. I rate Dr. Elliott a 100+. Both beside manner and surgical competence I prefer.
