Dr. Ferrari and his staff are SOOO NICE! I can't believe how well and have fast everything has gone! Dr. Ferrari is very to the point but answers all of your questions.
I got approval for the surgery in 3 weeks with CIGNA/PPO.

I have only met with Dr. Ferrari once and I won't met with him again till Aug. 30th but I was very impressed by the first meeting. He wass very personable and explained everything in a very understandable way. He made it very clear that the surgery was only a tool and I had to do the work. That shows me he cares about the patient and not the pay. He answered all my questions and told me to feel free to call at anytime with any further questions. You have to agree to attend aftercare and they send you home with a folder of very helpful information. Overall, it was a good experiance and I would rate him and the staff very high.

Initially, I didn't care for him and I almost went to another physician. But I had already canceled my first surgery(bands) to have the roux en y done instead. I was anxious to proceed so I decided to stay with him. Currently, I think that he really cares about his patients. He takes the time to answer your questions and seems genuinely concerned. His office staff was very helpful with explaining the procedure and what to expect. Several of his staff members have had the surgery so they were VERY informative in what to expect. He has an excellent aftercare program that he expects you to attend. Unfortunately, with my large family and working full-time, I am unable to attend. His office is over 30 miles downtown and takes a large chunk out of my day. Dr ferrari went over the surgery in detail and allowed any questions that you could possibly have. I rate his surgical competence much higher that his bedside manner. But once again I stress, he definitely seems to cares about his patients.

Doctor Ferrari was nice and very helpful. I like the fact he took his time with everyone. It did take all day for the visit. Everyone in the office was helpful with all my questions. The aftercare was very important to the visit. He has a aftercare plan and expects you to do all of it for you own good. I will and more after my Operation.

My first impression what that he was a very confident, classy doctor who took his job very seriously, almost to the point where he might seem cold.

I was the last consult of an extrememly long day, but I could tell her was trying to be as thourough as possible. He told me what he wanted me to know, and then sat back as I through questions at him. He could probably tell that I was nervous, but it didn't keep him from making the answers short and sweet.

He seemed amused that I had a list of questions from the internet.

Future patients should also have a list of questions, because once in his presence you may feel so relaxed or so tense that you'll forget what you wanted to say.

There is a structured aftercare program of meetings and newsletters. Ourconversation was short because I already knew what kind of surgery I wanted and the risks of it (roux en y). He does a proximal.

I would rate him as an 8 overall. I am quite sensitive to bedside manner, but I would rather have a good surgeon that only cracks a smile once in a while, than a joker who isn't up to par, just because I felt at ease.

The office staff was gentle, yet hurried, the lobby was big person friendly as were the halls. The scale was digital and I was offered a drink. I chose apple juice. Overall a good experience. My first consult was about 1 1/2 hours. I only spent about 20 of it with Dr. Ferrari, the rest was answering questions and filling out paperwork.

Cool.

I met with Dr. Ferarri for my consultation. He seemed very personable. He answered all of ny questions. We discussed the fact that I crave sugar and he suggested a Roux-En-Y surgery, which is the surgery I was also interested in. He explained the surgery and drew a diagram. He told me he agreed that I needed the surgery and ordered labwork and echocardiogram. Dr. Ferarri sees patients at NewWeigh. They were all very friendly. I will be in an aftercare program provided by NewWeigh. You must sign an agreement to go to meetings, weekly for the 1st. month and then monthly after that. Dr. Ferarri went over the risks and benefits of surgery, which I was already aware of. I feel surgical competence is much more important than bedside manner, but if a surgeons bedside manner is to bad it is hard to deal with them. I found Dr. Ferarri to be very kind and friendly, as well as, informative. My only complaint so far is that New Weigh has been a little slow in getting my papers to my insurance company, but I am also very anxious to get approval so I am sure this has some bearing on my feelings that they are a little slow.

When i first met him I thought boy is he quiet, and I am very talkative. By the end of the appointment we were both laughing and joking. He was very serious about this surgery and follow up care. He told me I can cut you open and fix your stomach but you have to take care of the rest. I told him to be blunt with me I didn't want to go in with my eyes closed and boy he gave me the low down on everything. Now the girls a Neweight...Kudos to Lee, Carla, Paula, they are a wonderful bunch of women and they are his back bone. They keep it all together and keep you informed and help you all the way. I would tell anyone to go see him in the blink of an eye BUTm you have to talk to him and ask questions, if he thinks you already know it he won't tell you. You have to interact with him and he will be there every step of the way.

My first impression of Dr. Ferrari was that he did not look like a doctor to me, he looked more like a regular friendly guy. But when he spoke to me I knew that he knew what he was doing. He is very articulate and informative. His office staff at NeWeigh is outstanding so far. They have helped me every step and have taken charge of the insurance matters for me. Dr. Ferrari emphasizes aftercare in order to maintain weight loss goals. The aftercare program is so organized. there are weekly, monthly and yearly activities. As far as informing me about the risk of surgery, Dr. Ferrari was very informative and showed me diagrams and pictures of exactly what he would be doing to me during surgery. I will be having my surgery on monday. I will get back with you about the rest.

Dr Ferrari was very confident and helpful the first time I met him. In the hospital after surgery, he was very caring, answering all my questions. He has continued to be that way over the past 2 years. I saw Dr. Ferrari for the first time at the Neweigh Office. Neweigh processes the insurance for Dr. Ferrari and he sees his bariatriac paatients at this office. Most of the staff had gone through surgery already and helped me out tremendously. Dr Ferrari definately believes in aftercare and a structured support system. During my initial consultation he did explain all the risks and beneifts of bariatric surgery. He went over all the complications that could arise. I think that DR Ferrari is an excellent surgeon and a very caring Doctor. My experience with bariatric surgery was great.
