I went for my consultation with Dr. Ferrari on March 19, 2001. The office staff was very friendly and efficient. Dr. Ferrari seemed quiet at first but when he started explaining the surgery and the risk...he was very nice and you can tell he is experienced and knows his business. I had a great deal of peace after talking with him. He allowed me to ask questions and went out of his way to answer them. I know that he will take great care of me. Blanca, his assistant has been wonderful about working with me to get all the test done and information ready for my insurance. Dr. Ferrari stresses aftercare and I know he has a great aftercare program. If you want a Dr. that knows what he's doing and that you can trust then don't hesitate to try Dr. Ferrari. I'm glad that I did and I am looking forward to having the proceedure done.
04/04/01...Met with the people at NeWeigh and Dr. Ferrari today. I went to my appointment having done a LOT of research and did not have a lot of questions. Dr. Ferrari was able to answer the ones that I did have. Our meeting was very short. Including the physical exam, the total time spent with him was less than a half hour. This was fine with me, though. I didn't need assurances or "hand-holding" so it was more on the analytical side. He certainly carries himself as though he knows what he is doing. Now, I begin the insurance approval waiting game. I have a few co-existing conditions which should prompt my insurance company to approve the procedure. So far, I have no reason not to refer people to Dr. Ferrari or to NeWeigh.
Dr. Ferrari was very pleasant. He came highly recommened and after one meeting with him I can see why. He has always been easy to talk to and seems concern.
Dr. Ferrari emphasizes after-care.
Risks of surgery: I was hospitalized twice after the surgery because the opening had closed. I was not eating enogh and on time. An endoscopy was done each time to dialate the hole. I was also dehydrated.
His bedside manner is good. He is an excellent surgeon.
Dr. Ferrari is a very quite man. However, he answers all your questions honestly and has always proven to be very supportive and positive. His office staff was very professional and kind mannered. Dr. Ferrari did stress how important aftercare would be after the surgery. Neweigh has been wonderful. I have learned more just sitting in the waiting room than anywhere else. Dr. Ferrair never really discussed the risks of surgery with me but, I was given written material on the risks of having the surgery. In closing I think Dr. Ferrari is an excellent doctor to rely on and his surgical competence and bedside manner were outstanding.
THAT THIS MAN KNOW WHAT HE IS DOING. AND IN THE FOLLOWING MEETING THAT I HAD WITH HIM I WAS IMPRESSED WITH HIS KNOWLEDGE. HIS OFFICE STAFF VERY CARING AND HELPFUL WITH AND QUESTION THAT I HAD AND STILL HAVE. THERE WAS NOT A THING THAT I DID NOT LIKE ABOUT HIM.ANY FUTURE PATIENTS OF HIS SHOULD DO THEIR HOMEWORK AND ASK HIM QUESTIONS. AFTERCARE IS VERY IMPORTANT AND HE EMPHASIZE THESE.HE DOES HAVE A STRUCTED AFTERCARE PROGRAM IT'S CALLED NEWEIGH. HE DOES ADDRESS ALL RISK FACTORS. I WOULD RATE HIM A 10+ ON A SCALE OF 1-10 . BOTH OF HIS SKILL WHERE GREAT!!! I JUST LOVE THE MAN BUT DON'T TELL MY HUSBAND
Dr. Ferrari was very patient with all my questions. I even asked him why he started doing bariatric surgery and got a 5 minute answer.
I am pleased with the help that NeWeigh has given me. I didn't have to do anything but fill out the paperwork, show up to a couple of appointments, and wait (that's the hard part).
I met my surgeon today. His name is Dr. Ferrari. My 1st impression of him was that he was very professional, experienced and knowledgeable. He make it a point in our interview to fully explain in detail how the surgery worked, drew me a picture to further help me to understand the procedure and gave me ample time to ask any questions I had, never rushing me or making me feel inadequate about the questions I asked. He kept emphasising over and over the necessity of eating several times a day (about 6) even if you are not hungry. He explained this was so important to maintain success, because starvation does not promote weight loss and can harm you in many ways by depriving the body of it's essential nutrients in order to function properly. He does have a very structured aftercare program and also emphasised it's importance in the weight loss being permanent. His staff was well informed and also answered any questions I had and made me feel secure by constantly telling me if I had any other questions to not hesitate to call them at any time. My surgeon also has 22 years experience in doing this surgery. I feel confident by choosing him, the choice I made was a good one.
my first impression of dr. ferrari was he was quite serious and very professional. my impression only changed for the better. he is very competent and very successful in his post op rate. i went through the neweigh office in houston and they were great in helping with all the paper work to my insurance company. i highly recommend both of these professionals. i would rate dr. ferrari a ten. he is quite but will answer anything you have to ask and he is very thorough. he met all my needs as a surgeon.

Dr. Ferrari's staff have been great. His admin. assistant called the day after I got home from the hospital to see how I was doing. I asked her a few questions at that time too. She just wanted to let me know that I could call 24 hrs. day if something was wrong.
The NuWeigh clinic staff are great too! They always return calls and answer all questions and are very patient.
