I have had my first consultation with Dr. Ferrari and liked him very much. He was very patient and wanted to make sure you didn't have any unanswered questions before he left. I saw him through NeWeigh and they have an excellent aftercare program.

My first impression Dr. Ferrari was that he was direct & professional. I saw him through NeWeigh and I had to wait about 1-1/2 hours to see him and visit was very brief. My only concern at the time was to find out about pain mgmt, and he told me I would be given a morphine pump. I was the first person to meet with him and he had an office full of people waiting to see him so I did not want to ask questions that I had already learned about on this site. Anyway I liked him and feel that I am in competant hands, though I am very worried about having surgery at Vista (my opinion only) from the things I have read here but I know that NeWeigh is a program funded through Vista. Sigh...He did not address the risks of surgery and I did tell him I had read up about surgery on this site.
POST OP: Dr Ferrari was great with a wonderful bedside manner and was so caring and used great skill. My incisions really did not hurt at all ever it was the gas that hurt but the incisions are so tiny that I know they will heal very nicely. 5 of the incisions are about 1/2 to 3/4 inch and the main one is about 1 inch. Thats it. I would highly recommend Carlos Ferrari to every single person researching WLS.

My first impression of Dr. Ferrari was that he was quiet but very nice. He was very patient with all of my questions and concerns. Which meant a lot to me, because most doctors I've seen don't want to spend a lot of time with their patients. The staff at Nuweigh are all wonderful people. It makes such a big difference that they have gone through this surgery and know everything you're going through. I haven't talked to his staff but once or twice, but they seem to be great.

Aftercare is stressed a lot at Nuweigh and I feel that they take very good care of you. Not only with Dr. appointments to make sure everything is going OK, but they also give you all the information you could need. After care instructions are very clear and precise.

He's a great surgeon..I wouldn't have gone to anyone else. I also found his bedside manner very good. Also, I cannot say enough about Vista Hospital. That is the best hostpital I have been in. The staff there really cares about you, and they take excellent care of you.

Dr.Ferrari is a very nice doctor and explained in great detail to me how the surgery would have a DRAMATIC change for the rest of my life and I really felt very comfortable in asking questions about the surgery He was recommened to me by a friend that had the surgery done and she is doing great. His staff is wonderful as well they are always willing to answer any questions no matter how crazy you might feel.I called the clinic several times a week when i would think of something and had to know the answer to.There has been nothing at this time that I dislike about my Doctor he has been very helpful.

Dr. Ferrari explained the Lap surgery to me in detail. He and the staff @ Neweigh were very helpful in my decision to have the surgery.

My impression is still the same.

I really only dealt with one person @ Neweigh and that was Leigh. She was awesome.

She helped me with all the test that I had to take before surgery was approved. Three days before my scheduled date of July 31, the surgery was postponed because the doctor felt I needed another test done. Leigh helped me with that. She was great through the whole 8 month process.

He (and the staff) will help you step by step in making your decision.

He stresses its importance to your recovery.

Oh, yes!

There are paplets that are given out about the risks of surgery and if you have any questions Dr. Ferrari will sit down and go over each of them with you.

On a scale of 1-10 a 10.

Both are important.

Iv'e been scheduled for surgery Oct 28th and I'm very excited. My initial visit with Dr. Ferrari was very informative, he took time to explain the procedure, testing and risks of the surgery. The testing was very helpful it made me aware of having sleep apnea. I have since got my cpac machine and I can not tell you how grest it is to get a good nights sleep. Everyone at Neweigh has been very helpful, too. I've heard nothing but good things about Dr. Ferrari and feel certain he will do a great job on me.

Dr. Ferrari was quiet, professional, to the point.

During my hospital stay, he visited me twice a day, including a quick turn around after he had left the hospital for the day to check in on me because of a high blood pressure problem.

His office staff is very efficient and friendly. Blanca answered all of my questions, and was very prompt in returning and/or relaying information to me by phone. When I went to the hospital (Cy-Fair) for my pre-op interview at the hospital, I showed them the paperwork they had given me and they were very impressed. They said none of the other doctors that they knew handed out such informational papers to the patients.

He does not "waste" time during your pre- and post- op visits. Come prepared with any questions. Otherwise, it is a quick check-up and conversation and he is on his way.

He and his staff are very passionate about aftercare. They emphasize the need for following the diet and guidelines of post-op.

The doctor explains the risks of surgery, as well as Blanca reviews them. Two brochures explaining the procedure and the doctor's qualifications are given at the time of the first visit.

I rate Dr. Ferrari as a very highly competent, and concerned physician. My confidence was built by his qualifications and talking to his patients who had this procedure done. His hospital visits, though brief, were to the point, concerning, and always with a smile.

Dr. Ferrari is very busy, yet he took the time to answer all of my questions and concerns. He is one of the surgeons for NeWeigh here in Houston. They are a wonderful group - very supportive (they have all had the surgery). They processed all of the necessary insurance paperwork and I was approved within 2 weeks! Amazing! I thought the approval process would take 30-60 days - at least! I did a lot of research before I chose NeWeigh and one of my main objectives was the quality of the aftercare program. NeWeigh and Dr. Ferrari do not do the "Wham-Bam-Thank you-Mam" kind of surgery, where they cut on you and set you loose. They have a very organized and successful aftercare program and support group. I want the whole package: Surgical competence, bedside manner and aftercare, and I believe I have found it all with Dr. Ferrari and NeWeigh. I suppose the one negative I have found so far is that I have to wait 6 weeks for surgery...I want it NOW!
