My first impression of Dr. Villares was that of compassion, caring and kindness. There was never any pressure from him or any of his staff to have the surgery. Dr. Villares does the surgery laproscopic and open. Mine was done laproscopic and I had no complications and was back to work in 7 days. Dr. Villares has genuine concern for his patient and there overall care before, during and long after surgery. His staff also share his compassion and kindness. He takes the time to explain everything and there are seminars at the bridges center that he wants you to go to so that you are completely imformed about the dicission you are making. I have recommended him and his staff as well as the Bridges center to all who ask about the surgery. You will not find a better and more compotent surgeon in arizona.

I first met Dr Zahn at one of his orientations and he seemed to be very nice, honest and a bit humorus. Dr Zahn just seems to get pretty upset if things don't go the way he thinks they should. I was not impressed over a couple of comments he made when i went to see him in Nov. I didn't realize my blood sugars were so high so i had to postpond the surgury. This gave me time to think if i really wanted a Dr with a temper or not. I decided i really liked the staff at his office and would give Dr Villares a try.

I decieded to change my Dr to Dr Villares for personal reasons. He is Dr Zahn assosciate. He seems very young but seems to have a good bed side manner. So now i am having a laperscopic surgery

His staff was very nice, and very professional esp Nicole.

Dr. Villares seems to be a very direct and kind man. He took the time to answer my questions and treated me like a person, not just a patient. He explained the risks of this surgery with very real statistics, both personal and nationwide. His office staff (shared with Dr. Zahn) are just wonderful!

The aftercare is managed through their BRIDGES program at St. Lukes Hospital and is very very comprehensive, as are both the pre- and post- op classes.

About the only thing that I didn't like or had a problem with was possibly the waiting time that I spent in the exam room. And that's really just a personal thing, I hate waiting for a doctor to come see me with the door to the exam room closed.

There are so many great things to say about Dr. Villares. All of my Pre-op appts. went well, he took his time to answer all of my questions. Once I was post-op he came to check on my status right afer surgery. Then the following day while I was in the hospital he made sure all of my needs were being met. Once I came home I got a call from him 3 days post-op to make sure that I was still doing well. I couldn't have asked for a better doctor!!!

I love Dr Villares. Both he and his staff are excellent. I went to several Drs in the valley and found him to be the most knowledgeable and skilled. He is a part of the bridges center at st lukes and so there is already inplace all of the support you can want. He has a wonderful bedside manner and made sure that I got great care in the hospital.

Exceptional doctor. Extremely knowledgeable regarding WLS and his bedside manner was excellent. He Explained the surgery, risks and aftercare to me in great detail and took the time to answer all of my questions. No stone was left unturned. He is a doctor in the Bridges Surgical Weight Management Centre and their program is very complete with lots of support groups and training on how to eat, exercise, and deal with any and all psychological changes which may occur after the surgery. When I had my Upper GI done the morning after my surgery to check for leaks, Dr. Villares personally came to x-ray to check the test out while it was being done. After I was discharged from the hospital on a Tuesday, Dr. Villares called me at home on Friday to check on how I was feeling. He wanted to make sure I was okay before the weekend. There wasn't anything not to like about Dr. Villares. He is very professional, knowledgeable and personable. Dr. Villares is a certified laproscopic specialist and he went to one of the top two medical schools in the country and did his residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. I feel I was so blessed to find such a capable, caring surgeon.
