Alexander Villares Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.

When I met Dr Villares I asked him why he chose to be a Bariatric surgeon and he said that when he started doing surgeries he was mostly trying to remove cancer from his patience bodies. He started doing bariatric surgery because there was more HOPE of a fullfilling life for his patience. That's my first impression of our dear Dr Villares. When you meet him he's laidback and yet very knowledgable and confident. You just feel confident in him and in your choice to share in the HOPE he believes in. His office staff was great too. Happy to help and easy to like!

I met Dr. Villares for the first time at an informational seminar. My initial reactions was 'wow this guy is really young'. Once I got past that and really listened to him, he seemed so knowledgeable and very skilled at what he does. He answered every question without hesitation and made me feel extremely confident in his abilities as a surgeon. I also liked how he stressed the support groups and aftercare. When I met with him during my initial consultation, he was very professional and continued to impress me with his knowledge. I feel very safe in his hands. Nicole at his office was great too! She made me feel at ease and answered all my questions as well. She didn't even complain when I called her many times with questions I forgot to ask while I was in the office.

Dr. Villares was awesome. He explained 5 different types of surgery that are available, the pros and cons of each. He then proceeded to ask which one I wanted and following my answer gave me his suggestion. We both agreed on the VSG. I never heard of it until my consultation with him on 6/4/07.rnrnHe went into great detail by drawing pictures of each surgery (before and after of the stomach) and explained all the risks related and the weight loss process with each.rnrnI can't honestly say I had one area that I did not like. I found the office staff to be friendly and very helpful. I had to call back and ask for prices and they faxed me at work within 20 minutes!rnrnThe Dr. still encouraged me to attend his seminar that I am scheduled for next week. My consultation with his was to follow the seminar, but he had an opening and his office called and scheduled me sooner. He told me the seminar gives most of the info he just discussed, but he still wanted me to attend it.rnrnI would have to say the only negative thing would be overkill. If you are a person who doesn't like too much detail, then you will have to tell Dr. Villares to shut up!!rnrnPersonally, when someone is removing and reshaping my internal organ, I want details. Call me crazy.rnrnI will give more info about his bedside manner following my surgery in September, 2007.

This guy is awesome! He was very personable and his staff explianed everything to me. When he came in for the post op visit at the hospital he let me make the decide if I wanted to go home or not. He took the time to make sure I was in good shape and I went home from an RNY in one day.

Dr. Villares is amazing as is his entire staff. He answered all my husband's and my questions. He made me feel relaxed and valued as a person, not a number on his list of surgeries. He is confident, kind, and extremely knowledgeable. We did ask about the risk of the surgery. He answered honestly and made me feel so much more relaxed about the procedure. I feel confident that I will be in \"good hands\".

I really liked my Doctor upon my first inital meeting. He was really interested in how I ate and asking me how I felt about things. He wanted to know what my goal weight would be and what I felt would be the best surgury for me. I am compleatly faithfull in my surgeon and I dont doubt him at all. I think that he is a 10 and I would go see him again.

My first visit with Dr. Villares was a very positivie one. Not only is he incredibly professional, knowledgable, curtious, and understanding he also has a great sense of humor that will instantly put anyone at ease. I was incredibly nervous about having the surgery and while Dr. Villares didn't try to minimize the dangers involved he did manage to put my mind at ease. Even in the operating room while under slight sedation I asked him one last time \"How bad is this going to hurt? Worse than a c-section?\" and he took my hand in his and told me that I was going to be fine. He monitored my progress regularly at the hospital and after I got home. The staff at the bariatric center called and asked how I was feeling and made sure I was comfortable with the changes I needed to make in my diet. Next week will be my one year anniversary. I've gone from 270 pounds to 163 pounds. I couldn't be happier. I saw Dr. Villares just today for a follow up and he is helping me to find a good plastic surgeon for a little nip and tuck. I would recommend Dr. Villares to all my friends and family over and over again. Best wishes to you all who are interested, I hope you find all the success that I have.

Dr. Villares and the staff at Good Samaritan Bariatrics are top notch! The seminar was informative and all of my questions were answered. The office staff, especially Nicole, are great. I felt so welcome and comfortable. Dr. Villares is soft spoken and friendly. At our consultation, he made my husband feel at ease with the procedure by answering all of his questions. He spent alot of time with us and was not rushed in the least. He is so knowlegable and it is obvious he loves what he does. There is a very comprehensive after care program offered at Good Samartan Bariatrics. I had a full understanding of the risks of surgery from researching on OH, and Dr. Villares confirmed my understanding. I have no worries and know I am in good hands. I have done aot of research and would hihly recommend Dr. Villares and his wonderful staff.

My first impression of Dr. Villares was how pleasent, professional and personable he is. He answered all my questions and looked me in the eyes and didn't rush me through anything. His staff is great and know what to do for you and will walk you the process. I had my surgery on Jan 15th and it's now the end of April and I've lost 71lbs! Thank you Dr. V!!

I attended three seminars put on by three different surgeons, and Dr. Villares' seminar was the the one I was most impressed by. He came across as a very intelligent and competent surgeon and a very patient and kind type of person. One of the other seminars (different surgeon) I attended I was very put off by, the surgeon seemed more like a used car salesman than a surgeon. I felt he was very flippant in his answers and tried to inject humor at inapporiate times during the seminar. rnrnMy first consult with Dr. Villares confirmed the good feeling I got about him at his seminar. He took his time in answering my questions and asking me questions regarding my eating habits and the type of surgery I was interested in. Since there are so many different types of bariatric surgery (he performs many different types), and there are definite reasons why one person may benefit from one surgery over another, I felt that he addressed my personal lifestyle and concerns without making it seem like \"one size fits all\". I left feeling totally comfortable with my decision to have RNY and very reassured that he supported my decision. I feel very confident in choosing Dr. Villares.
