'It is my pleasure to recommend Dr. Alexander Villares. He is an extremely talented and caring surgeon with up-to-date techniques. I had RNY surgery with another Phoenix surgeon on 5/27/03. Things went well for the first year and I lost over 110 pounds. I struggled over the next year and a half as I started picking up old habits. While I blame 80% of my weight regain on a return of poor eating habits

My first impression of Dr. Villares was one of great confidence. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about him and his staff. I felt like I was in great hands from day one and have been since my surgery in July. I feel like the success of weight loss surgery starts with your surgeon, Dr. Villares has given me the tools to succeed and I am doing just that. He really cares about his patients, before during and after. If you are considering surgery you must see Dr Villares, there is no one better!

I really like Dr. Villares. He is not the hand-holding type, but he is great and really took great care of me. He answered all of my questions and went above and beyond to calm the concerns of my husband and family too. If you want a doctor to hold your hand and be a "sap" then don't see Dr. Villares. If you want a skilled surgeon who will take care of you and will do everything possible to see that your surgery is a sucess, then he is the one for you. I knew from the onset what to and not to expect. His aftercare program is wonderful and he encourages you to attend support groups. He is very competent. His beside manner is a little cold, but his skill and knowledge made that ok with me.

Dr. Villares was very professional about the by-pass. He impresses me with his knowledge and answered all my questions and concerns. I would rate the Dr as a 10 on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the highest score. Office personnel were informative and made sure that all paperwork was properly completed, along with any needed medical reviews for insurance approval. I was approved on the first letter, and did not require a medically supervised diet.

Dr. V was amazing. He was kind and patient and really listened to my concerns. He made good eye contact and even drew pictures to show me exactly what to expect.

First impression was that Dr. Villares was extremely knowledgable and well trained in the latest techniques. CONFIDENT! After consulting with him I knew even more that I had made the right decision in choosing this surgeon. Office staff is kind, courteous and extremely efficient! Future patients should know that choosing Dr. Villares will be the best decision they can ever make when deciding to pursue surgery. Aftercare program at Good Samaritan Bariatric Center is very structured and staff is always available to my needs and questions. He presented the surgical risks to me with great care and eased my worries. I give Dr. Villares a big YES!! He has both surgical competence and a very caring bedside manner.

Dr. Villares is a very young Dr. but has a lot of experience. He seems to know what he is doing. When I went to see him he had just come from an emergency and seemed to be feeling very stressed, but after talking to him for a while he was willing to answer any question my husband and I had. He has a very friendly office staff, but I ask what needed to be done now and was just told go to the seminar and get a cardio clearance. Then was told I needed to have a phyic exam which was supposed to be covered in the seminar but was not. I now have an appointment Fri. for an angio-plasty before the heart Dr. will talk to me about clearance. Dr Villares didn't talk to me at all about aftercare. I think the Dr. has to be competant and have good bedside manner to make a good doc.

Dr. Villares is the most professional surgeon I've ever met. As a registered nurse, that's saying a lot. He's a bit of a perfectionist, which is a good thing if he's gonna be cutting on you. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone considering weight loss surgery. If I needed additional surgery for some reason, I would fly back to AZ from NC to see him again. He specializes in laporoscopic procedures and has a bedside manner that can't be beat. I spent one night in the hospital and went home the next evening. I've had absolutely no complications.

I met Dr. Villares at his seminar and I knew immediately that I wanted him to do my surgery. I was not disappointed after I had my face-to-face interview with him. He had a wonderful "bedside" manner, he took a lot of time to answer my questions and explain things to me. Soon after that I began working on a blood problem I have so that I could get the surgery and things got sidetracked for a few months. We are back on track now so I expect to have more interaction with Nicole at his office.
