I really liked Dr. Saber when I meet him at the initial consult. He was \"funny\" in a way. I have a great relationship with my PCP and he reminded me of him. He was very informative and I can't say enough about PAT his nurse. She is always willing to talk and answer any questions. I have all the faith in the both of them to get me through this time of my life safely. Along with the lord.
That Dr. Sabar looked very young. Still the same. His nurse Pat is very caring and a very nice lady.Nothing. That Dr. Sabar is a very good doctor and he takes his time on things if you need then repeated. He emphasizes aftercare a lot so that you will not have any problems. yes he does. He address the risks of surgery. Dr. Sabar is a very excellent doctor and I would recommend him to anyone who is thinking about doing the surgery. Both are great.rnrnnothing negative to say about Dr. Sabar
My Mom and I went to Dr. Saber's seminar at Borgess Hospital. I was very impressed with his presentation of the surgery itself and I decided right then and there that I was going to GO FOR IT! He put me through extensive testing prior to surgery which I thought was great. After all of the test results were in, my surgery date was set and everything came off without a hitch. Having this surgery was the best gift I could have ever given myself. I've lost 60 in 10 weeks which still amazes me! I feel great and have so much more energy. Hats off to Dr. Saber and Pat for giving me renewed vitality and a whole new positive outlook on life!
Dr. Saber and his staff are amazing! He is a very good surgeon and was very thorough in preparing me for the surgery. His nurse Pat is wonderful. She is always willing to help and is full of encouragement each time I see her. I am so glad that I had the surgery and that Dr. Saber preformed it. I knew I was in great hands!

I liked him! He clarified his credentials and experience which really alleviated some of my concerns.
My appointment was at 3:15 and I finally got into a room around 4 and saw the doctor finally at 5 pm. I like him anyhow. To be fair, the lateness was due to the fact that he had an emergency surgery. That said.....
Although it was very late in the day when he finally got to me, he never made me feel rushed.
He did a physical exam and found two hernias that another surgeon didn't find because he didn't examine me.
His PA told me that Saber's humor was limited (I had asked) but I found otherwise. He was professional and detailed yet warm and charming. I liked his bedside manner ... it wasn't too much or too little, it was just enough. He was very thorough and insistant about calling him if I needed anything.

Post Surgery
Dr. Saber is W O N D E R F U L! My surgery turned out to be complicated yet this genius of a surgeon managed to complete my surgery LAP and not have to switch to open. He is exceptionally attentive and once when we had to phone him, he was there at the hospital within an hour! Superb care, an excellent excellent surgeon. And I have to tell you, when he pulled my drains I cried like a baby! I was so terrified because of an experience 20+ years ago and this man was so so gentle, so skilled and PATIENT with me! When he pulled my drains I DID NOT FEEL IT!

My first impression was "wow he looks so young" I wondered about his experience and if I'd be in good hands. Over time I got to know more about him read some of the testimonials of other patients and grew comfort in that. His staff = Pat and she was and still is awesome, I can't say enough about her. If you choose this route Dr Saber is the way to go he is caring and always willing to be there if you need him for anything. I found his bedside manner and surgical competence to be great.
A little intimidated
to a great rappor
excellent
sometimes talks to fast
very gentle man
very much, in fact he was going to make an appt. for me for post-op but I already had one
yes
very throughly, was very up-front abouot every aspect
definately a 10
I feel that both aspects are very important, especially in a procedure such as this because you don't want to feel like just "another number" Thank you.

I went to a required meeting in the Fall of 2004. Was scared to death to go, and wasn't sure if I wanted to go. I went and decided it wasn't for me because I figured it was too drastic to have the roux-en-y. I hadn't gone up and down like a yo-yo quite enough---HA! Only for 20+years! I researched another 6 months and decided it was for me. Dr. Saber at first seemed to speak way to fast and not real clearly (English). They seemed to really emphasize "Pat" being the connection. That made me a bit nervous because Pat had the surgery done by someone else. While she is very knowledgeable and helpful, I wanted the Doctor to be my friend, not Pat. :)
I found out through my husbands employer...the ARMY---they covered it 100%, and that made a big change in my decision. Now "drastic" became relative. I researched more, different doctors and types of surgery; met with my primary, who said he had several patients have great success with Dr. Saber and that he was very confident in his skills. That won me over completely. I met again with Dr. Saber (and Pat) the same day I met with my primary physician. They got me in that day because I had insurance for only one month!
They were very accomodating on my short time span to do this. I had prayed and thought hard about this for years, and now it was here! They sent me for many tests and were very thorough. I felt confident in their recommendations and plans. They work with a great dietician, Joyce, who has all the answers. And, like everyone else says, they all say to call if there are any concerns. Dr. Saber is very conservative, and I like that! This surgery is extreme, but he makes it as conservative as possible!
The only negative thing that I would say would be that in my opinion, Dr. Saber didn't seem to remember me or my case each time I saw hiim. That was scary to me, but then again, I am looking different each time. But it seems to me a bit more "personal" attention would have calmed me about that negativity. He never remembered my co-morbidities or why I was choosing to have the surgery--I would always have to remind him that I didn't need them for insurance purposes. It seems he could have written that in a chart somewhere to reveiew before coming in to me. He's very nice...just quick. Very caring and concerned, and he let me stay when I wanted to stay longer in the hospital. He made sure I was comfortable with everything. Would do it again, with him in a heartbeat! NO regrets! Of course, this is all my personal impression of my experience.
I’ve met with Dr. Saber twice so far before surgery; he seems caring and very thorough. I went to a support group meeting a few days before surgery which Dr. Saber and his nurse Pat (who is great) was there and he told me when I’m in the hospital if I have any concerns I can call him 24 hrs a day and he’ll call me right back. That impressed me.
Its been a little over a month since surgery and everything went great. I am so glad i ended up with Dr. Saber, he truly cares about his patients well being and takes their care very seriously, before and after surgery. Dr. Saber's nurse Pat treats everyone like family and was a big help. Her and Dr. Saber make a great team. I recommend both of them completely.
Its been about eleven months since my surgery and i've lost over 120 pounds and am now at my ideal weight. All of the medical problems i had before are all gone, i really am a new man now. I am so happy that i had the surgery and just as important i am so lucky that Dr. Saber did the surgery for me. I said it before and i'll say it again DR. SABER IS THE MAN !!!!!!!!!!!!!
