DR. Naaman was very informative. When I first went to his meeting he aswered all of my questions. My first consult with him I had a list of questions to ask but he answered all of them before I could ask them. He was very nice and I feel he enjoys helping improve lives.Dr. Naamans staff was awsome!! every one was so helpful, and not one of them mind if I called 3/4 times a day with questions.
My first impression of Dr. Naaman was that he was a very open and honest person. Who talks to you and not at you. He seems to look past your outward apperance and sees the person you will be when you quest is complete. He does not surgar coat anything he tells it like it is. So if you want a Dr. that is going to do that he is not the doctor for you. He has a wonderful and caring staff who are understanding and very helpful. He does not have an after care suport group for his DS people, they are all grouped with the RNY, I am sure due to the small number of them. But there is a support group in Houston that makes up for it. As far as surgical competence and bedside manner, I would rate him at the top of the list. I thank God every day for Dr. Naaman and my DS.
I just wanted to take this time, and effort to explain that Dr. Naaman is the most paitent, and polite person on this earth.. He wasn't afraid to do my surgery, and wasn't worried about what medicare would pay, and not pay.. There staff was awsome, and very nice, and helpfull.. They were understanding to my needs, and were wanting to help, and not worried about becomming another statistic.. He was willing to help me, a 430 pound 27 year old that stands at 5'2.. He was willing to do it for me, w/the problems I had. IE High blood pressure, vision problems, and several other problems.. I dunno how to put it he's just an awsome doctor, and was very careing, and simpathetic to ones needs.. I would highly suggest him to anyone that is looking for any type of surgery weather it be gastrobypass, or if it be something in the other fields that he does.. The after care is awsome too.. They are the most understanding and loveable people. He showed great bedside manner, and surgical competence.

I love Dr Naaman and his entire staff. They all had been very helpful with my journey. Dr. Naaman really stresses the importance of walking after surgery and following the rules. He is a very caring Dr. He clearly explains that this is just a tool and you must do your part in order to be successful. I would recommend him and his staff to everyone.
I have completed my consultation with Dr. Adam Naaman. I have complete faith in Dr. Naaman. I feel very confident in his experience and expertise in Bariatric Surgery.
He is very thorough and a no-nonsense kind of doctor. He shoots straight from the hip. I like that. His staff is very knowledgeable and friendly.
I am now waiting on the insurance.
However, I arrived for my appointment at 8:10am but I did not see Dr. Naaman until 8:55am. I did not like having to wait.
I have absolutely no complaints about my surgeon. He has a wonderful bedside manner and was very thorough and most professional. He treated me like a person and not a number or statitic. He has his way of how you are to proceed though your recovery and he wants it done that way but who am I to argue with him. I would highly recommend Dr. Naaman and his office staff. They were very efficient in helping me through the insurance process.
Sept. 8 -
I called Dr. Harberg's office after hours on Tuesday. They called me back today to get my information. The lady was very nice, even though I was rushed on my end. Hoping to get good news from her.
I met with Dr. Harberg. He is tough, but I loved that he cares enough to try and scare people. Helps weed out the ones who cannot handle it. While I loved him, I am not interested in the VBG, so I am switching doctors.
I will be going with Dr. Naaman. I meet with him on Nov. 23.
Nov. 23 - I really liked Dr. Adam Naaman - quiet but very nice. Some people say he has a typical surgeron personality - but I myself liked him and didn't find him to be too aloof.
His office staff is a well-oiled machine. Bernie is the best ever. Amanda (who handles insurance info) is a little aggressive, but she is fighting on our behalf - so you want that in her. Everyone there was absolutely terrific. Definitely a first-rate group
I absolutely love Dr. Naaman! His approach is very conservative - something you want. The six weeks of liquids may seem unbearable, but it allows you to make your emotional disconnect with food.
If you are serious about being successful with this surgery, don't take shortcuts (surgeons who only have you do two weeks of liquids or who let you eat fairly freely early on). I have sent many, many people to Dr. Naaman and each one has thanked me for doing so.

THANK YOU DR. NAAMAN FOR SAVING MY LIFE!
I finally had my surgery on 8-8-05 with dr. Adam Naaman! He is WONDERFUL!!! So is his staff!!! Bernie & Amanda are lifesavers!!! After battling another Doctor to do a revision (Dr. Robert Marvin, Houston Tx.)I got nowhere but rudeness & disrespect & I felt so humiliated with all of the unnecessary testing he put me through. It wasn't even an insurance problem either!!! NEVER ONCE DID I EVER SEE HIM IN HIS OFFICE PERIOD in that three months!!! After all of that & three months of waiting I discovered he was never gonna even call me back. I was treated for something I was never even tested for- H-Pylori!!! No professionalism at all whatsoever!!! That was in February until May. I then went directly to Dr. Naaman's seminar in May. All of this waiting for the RIGHT Doctor made all the difference & all of my waiting & all of my trips back & forth to Houston was well worth all of this!!! It is now August & I am a week out Post-Op & I have lost 8 pounds!!! I have 120 pounds more to go. Dr. Naaman has a wonderful aftercare program & it is free & extremely helpful!!! I would rate him a 10 overall!!! Put it this way, if you cannot follow the routine then this isn't for you. It takes patience with all of the insurance documentation & getting yourself prepared for a lifelong change for you as well as your whole family to adapt!!! It is not easy by any means. WALK WALK WALK!!! Get your 64 ounces of fluid intake everyday & you will do fine!!!

I started this journey 3 years ago and Dr. Naaman was my first choice. However, I decided to interview surgeon's just to make sure I was making the right choice.
Once I met Dr. Naaman I realized he was the one! He is a very quiet man and doesn't say much but, you can tell he really listens to you. He answered any and all questions I had. I have several friends that have had surgery with him and have done remarkable.
His skill is awesome! On a scale of 1-10 I would rate him a 10.
Dr. Naaman doesn't sugar coat anything for you. He tells you how it is and what is expected of you. He makes sure you are willing to comply with all rules of the surgery and aftercare.
His office staff is awesome. I can't say enough about Ms. Bernice. Like I said I started this journey 3 years ago and Ms. Bernice and I still keep in contact. I am well on my way to having this surgery and can't wait!!!

My first impression of Dr. Naaman was that he seems to be a very nice man. He has a firm handshake, which made me fill confident that I would be in capable hands. My impression of him overtime was that all the testimonials I read and research I had done where on the money about him.I would describe his office staff as being kind and very informative. Amanda seems to be the best of the best. And their insurance specialist was very warm. There was nothing that I disliked about Dr. Naaman. Future patients need to know that if you have a question about anything that all you need to do is just ask. He emphasizes aftercare very strongly. He has a structured aftercare program which consist of taking your multivitamin, walking every day for at least 30 min., he suggest that you attend support group meeting and that you keep all your follow-up appointments.I feel he addressed the risks of surgery very well he went over a booklet with me and told me to take it home and read it over on my own. Then he told me to call the office if I had any questions. I would rate him 10 overall.Which is better, surgical competence, bedsidemanner, or both great? I feel that surgical competence is mush more important to me then has bedside manner.
