First impression was that he was nice enough, but mostly business. He seems to be kind of dry, but he's great at what he does. He answered all of my questions, & believe me, I had a LOT. His nurse, Pam, was very nice and the entire staff has been fantastic from day one. I haven't seen Dr. Naaman since the day after surgery, but he has tons of patients (he's in very high demand but the patients don't get \"lost in the shuffle\"). I now see Julius, Dr. Naaman's assistant for all of my follow up appointments & he is great as well. I'm really glad this surgeon was referred to me. He is a great surgeon and his staff is wonderful! I would recommend him to anyone considering gastric bypass!rnrnI saw Dr. Naaman again at my 4 month checkup. He was very personable & even pinched my cheek! He is wonderful!!! Thanks for saving my life. :)rnrnIn June 2005, Dr. Naaman & Julius removed my gall bladder and repaired a hernia. I have been so impressed with both of them in so many ways. I've come to trust that they know what's best for me & can diagnose my medical problems better than any other clinic/hospital/physician. I am indebted to Dr. Naaman & Julius and I love the rest of the staff as well!

My first impression of Dr. Naaman, was that he is a quiet man. When he walked into the exam room, he was very reserved. He listened to what I had to say. He did a exam of me and said with confidence that he could perform the surgery. My impression of him now is the same but I know that he is a very busy man, but you never see it on his face, he has good beside manner. His staff is nice and very professional. Pleasant and straight forward with all that come there. You hear laughter and comfort when your there. I have no dislikes of Dr. Naaman or his staff. What you need to know Dr. Naaman will tell you, it varies per patient. He does stress aftercare. Taking vitamins, walking, calling when needing help or if having problems, if you don't call or email or page him, how can he help you. I knew the risks of the surgery before going in, there is always a risk, but if your not ready, don't do it. rnOverall, I would give Dr. Naaman a 10, I haven't seen a reason to give otherwise. I think a confident surgeon with good beside manner is great. You want to be comfortable that you made the right choice in the surgeon you chose.

Dr Naaman did my surgery about 10 days ago along with his right hand Julius. Everything has gone VERY Smooth. (1) from the beginning - calling for information, the information class; (2) appointments - have all been very convient for me; (3) Office - everyone there is very effiecient and very knowledgable but mostly helpful and don't seem to mind all the phone calls; (4) Surgery and follow-up has been very smooth as well. I really can't complain about anything.rnrnMore specifically, He's preformed over 1600 RNY's so far that's many many more than I've found reading thru the Houston area Dr's . My thought is \"practice makes perfect.\" Cusirn

Dr. Naaman presents to be a patient and concerned doctor. He listens well and attentively without watching his watch. His office staff are always the same in character when you speak to them on the phone. I was a bit intimidated to go Dr. Naaman's office because I felt the I would be talked about for being so over weight and I did not want to experience that type of thing. My good friend Renita who is patient of Dr. Naaman encouraged me along with my husband to take the step for my health and not my pride.rnThank God for them and Dr. Naaman I will soon be on the losing (weight) side of life with the constant victory.

Do your research. Ask the difficult questions. Due diligence is everything!

I actually found Dr Naaman on this very website. Once I decided that I actually wanted the surgery, I went to a doctor locally where I live(Southern Louisiana). Before I could even attend the pre visit seminar, the doctor told me that he was leaving town, would not be accepting new patients, but would refer me to another dr in a nearby town. The only thing that he could say about the other dr was, he's a good guy, I hunt with him. I don't mind if you hunt with someone, but I would have preferred hearing something about his medical skills or experience. Needless to say, I didn't worry about the referral. I started researching and found Dr. Naaman and studied him as well as the procedure. Even though he was/is 4.5 hours away from my home, I decided that he was the dr for me. I went to his seminar, got my packet done, and made my appointments. My insurance took months to say that there just wasn't enough information in my packet. I had a co-worker that got approved in app 3 weeks. Needless to say that Dr Naaman's staff called the insurance company over and over, pleaded with them and got me approval before I even finished getting all of the things they said they \"needed\" for approval. That was on a Monday, I had my one week pre-op visit a week later, and my surgery the next week. I am now 6.5 weeks post-op, have lost app 50lbs and am doing well. I felt that even though Dr Naaman is generally quiet, he took the time to explain things and gave ample chances for me and my wife to ask questions. He is also very perceptive; he would ask my wife questions instead of me. I am very laid back, had made up my mind, while she definitely wanted me to have the surgery, but still had a few questions. Also, Julius is great to deal with, very knowledgeable and informative.

My first impression of Dr. Naaman was that his bald head looked a lot like my husband's bald head. I love bald men!! He was quiet, very nice, but he did not say very much, but I liked him right away. He has been the same through and through. His staff is busy working and answering phones, all very knowledgeable, and patient. There is so much information on his website, in the seminar, and all they way through the process I had very few questions when I got there. You should be very prepared when you have your first visit. I felt very \"taken care of\" and I feel like I can call anytime and ask my \"stupid questions\" if I need to. After the surgery everyone is different and things happen, that's where questions may come up. Julius, his assistant has been awesome too and he let me go home early. WOO HOO! Surgical competence and bedside manner from the whole surgical staff was amazing. I would have surgery done there again. They are all business and not much play but that is the way I prefer it when it comes to a surgery that has the capacity to change your life like this one does. Do what they tell you, and you will be fine. There are a lot of doctors trying to break into this field, make sure they have the skills and experience that Dr. Naaman does. These are my personal opinions and statements, wish you luck with you and yours.rnLinda Wawee

'Dr. Naaman is very straight forward and to the point. He is not mr warm and fuzzy though. So if you are looking for that

I've had my initial consultation and Dr. Naaman seems great. He's warm and caring but also very strict. What I really like is that he treats not just the patient, but the family; he wants the immediate family members to be an active participant in the journey because surgery *can* have such a huge impact.

I do wish I'd gone in with my questions written down so I'd not forget them. I still have many questions that I need answered but that will come at my pre-op appointment. Most of my questions are regarding his measurement methods during surgery.

As far as his staff and aftercare, I do feel a bit confused with the conflicting information that I've gotten. However, I'm part of several wonderful DS support groups and plan on using their experience. The aftercare program currently in place is geared towards RNY patients.

He was amazing. I was very scared about having surgery and he made me feel very comfortable. When I went to his office I felt very welcome and the staff was just as friendly as can be. I have never had surgery before and hope not to again but if I did I wouldn't trust anyone else but him. Before visiting his office I went to see another doctor and he wasn't anywhere as skilled or warm as Dr. Naaman.
