Dr. Naaman came highly recommended to me by several people who have already used him for WLS. I have only seen him for my initial appointment, but he is a nice man who gets right to the point. His office staff is great. They are very supportive and eager to help.

Extremely thourough!! He made sure I was physically as well as mentally ready for the surgury. He was also very patient. He answered all of my questions (which where extensive), without hesitation. I was also very pleased and a bit surprised at how many times he stopped in personally to check on me post-op. Not many surgeons do that any more. Even on post-op visits he answered any questions I had, as well as gave me several suggestions on my road to recovery. Dr. Naamans office staff- including nurses and insurance adjuster (of which of course I had to speak to 8 million times :)!!) were all very helpful and several times accomodating due to the fact that I had to travel to Houston, which took 2 1/2 hour each way, each visit. Overall, I can say Dr. Naaman, his staff, his surgical experience, and bedside manner were absolutly fantastic. I would whole heartedly recommend him to anyone considering gastric bypass.

I felt Dr. Naaman was a good surgeon and new his stuff. Dr. Naaman is not a good after care Dr. All my post-op info I received from Neweigh. Dr. Naman office staff suck. Pam his nurse is nice but I know more about this surgery then she does. Without Neweigh and this site I would have been in trouble. Don't get me wrong again Dr. Naaman is an excellent surgeon. I was back at work within three weeks the healing process was easy. I think Dr. Naaman need to have post-op meetings to update information or to ask questions you may not have thought of during your initial post-op. Overall Dr. Naaman rating is a excellent surgeon but lack in aftercare treatment. This is from my personal experience and only my opinion.

My impression was positive. Not as informative as I hoped but I think this is more common for them then for me. His office staff is the most wonderful staff. No question to dumb or redundant. They are simply fabulous.

I dont think I dislike anything about him. Future patients should know that he is competent and that his staff is wonderful. He has a strong emphasis on aftercare. You are required to stay in the houston area until your drain is removed. Then a follow up one month, three months, six months and a year later. He fully addresses the risks of surgery. Overall, I like him and I think he does a great job.

I think surgical competence is most important but bedside manner with this surgery is also very important. This surgery is all about knowledge.

I had choosen another doctor at first, but soon heard of Dr. Naaman's surgical expertise and decided that I would rather go with him for the surgery. I haven't met with him yet but have discussed things with Bernice who is awesome! I'm excited about meeting him and will post more later. Hopeful to have surgery soon! 11/7/2002 - Met with Dr. Naaman -- very impressed, loved the staff as they were very informative.... I didn't get my surgery date like I had hoped for but hopefully sometime next week we will hear something -- I'm trying to get this done before the end of the year as my husbands company is changing insurance companies and I don't know what is going to be covered... so I'll post again when I hear something...
1/06/02 - Haven't posted for awhile - I've had a issue back in late Dec. that sent me to the hospital for 3 days - I was dehydrated --- I was having pains in my stomach from drinking and just couldn't do it- so I didn't ... and ended up in the ER -- that sucked.... But I'm better now.. will update more later but for now - the weight is coming off and I'm happy about that .... I'm down to 234.5 as of this morning!!! YEAH!!! Dr. Naaman is still great -- he is a little short with me while in the hospital but he wants you to just FOLLOW directions - don't think your going to tell him what you want to do .. ha - he TELLS YOU what your going to do!!! But he said I could stay in the hospital for a day or a week - UNTIL I FELT better -- he would do whatever I needed him to do!

My first contact with Dr. Naaman's office, which was over a year ago, was a very positive one. The staff was professional, knowledgable and courteous. They were very informative in regards to what the insurance company would require for approval and was forth-coming with that information in order to save both their time and mine. When I finally met Dr. Naaman, he was very knowledgeable, but informal enough to put both my husband and I at ease. We were given the opportunity to ask as many questions as we needed, and he treated me like a professional, without judging me or speaking to me in a condescending way. I am confident that he is an excellent surgeon. I was disappointed, however that he would not consider doing the Roux-en-Y laparoscopically, due to some previous problems I have had with adhesions.

My first impression of Dr. Adamadam Naaman was that he appeared to know his stuff, regarding the surgery. He made me feel confident that I was in good hands. He answered all the questions that I had and gave me some material to read. I felt that I was in safe and knowledgeable hands. My impression did not change. I considered Dr. Naaman and excellent surgeon. I felt absolutely no pain from the surgery at all. I awakened from the surgery with what felt like an air bubble in my left should, but after pain medication and reawakened, the pain was gone. I felt great in the hospital.
His office staff is pretty nice. Most of all they all seem so capable. I like Pam a lot because she is so caring and if she doesn't have an answer for you, she will find it and always call you back. I like Pam a lot. I think Dr. Naaman is a top notch surgeon, however, his after care is little on cool side. Dr. Naaman seems very concerned about his patients health after surgery. He has strick rules like not drinking protein, because it is too hard on the kidneys, but if you cannot hold food, where are you going to get the protein from. I did not agree with him on that. Future patients should be aware that Dr. Naaman is the sharpest doctor when doing laparascopic surgery. Because I had a big ole ugly scar from gallbladder surgery, I wanted nothing but laparoscopic surgery. I was told that Dr. Naaman was the "man"!! He proved everybody right!! Dr. Naaman emphasizes exercise, drinking water and Gatorade. But, if you cannot hold down too much food, I think he should have had other alternatives to getting the nourishment our body needs. I have just began to eat chicken. I ate cheese early on and eggs after about 3 months. Where was I supposed to be getting protein from?? I believe that his after care program is too structured and that he really needs to be more creative with the variety of problems coming up during after care. I was satisifed that he kept me alive though the surgery and through the aftercare, watching my labs and discussing with me. Addressing the risk of the surgery was done on paper so that I can read about it. Not discussed.

OverallDr. Naaman is an excellent surgeon, intelligent, up-to-date on the latest techniques and extremely caring of his patients health after the surgery. I think he needs to be a little more responsive and communicative to his patients complaints, all of them. Perhaps suggesting some thing that can be done about the hair loss, the dry skin, an explanation as to why I feel so cold most of the time. I would rate him a 9.75.

Which is better? Surgical compentency is a top priority. If I don't feel comfortable with the afercare, I can go to another doctor. I believe that I was in good hands. There is only so much Dr. Naaman can do, especaily within the guidelines of my insurance company.

My first impression of Dr. Naaman was that when he walked into the room he had the smoothest skin I had ever seen ... He had a nice warm smile, confident handshake and I felt comfortable around him as he sat down, went over my chart, page by page and went over the procedure. I had questions that he answered very professionally and I knew I had chosen the proper doctor for my surgery. He said that he had been operating the open surgery for 17 years and the LAP for 3+ years. He worked with another surgeon during the procedure, but that he would be doing the actual operation and the other doctor was the one who would be in charge of the cameras. Kinda like the best of both worlds!!
This time I met Pam who did the initial greeting at the door and "OK..JUMP ON THE SCALE" after the consultation was over, I dressed and went out to talk to AMANDA, who gets all the insurance together along with the letter of necessity ready for the insurance and that I needed to give her a week, call back to see where she was with my file. One of three answers I would have from her, either the package was sent to my insurance carrier, getting ready to be sent or that she hadn't had the documentation from the transcribers yet. (That sounds fair to me so far!!) SOOOO thats where I stand ... READY TO GO for now !!!!! Wish me luck!!!!

I went for my initial consultation with Dr. Naaman in September 2002. I felt that he was very informative and I thought that his office staff was wonderful. They are very helpful and I had no problem with any paperwork that was needed to get my insurance company's approval. My request to my insurance company was approved after the first letter.
