On 2/2/2018 I went to the Endobariatric hospital in Mexico. I admi that I was nervous but I made sure to do my research. Dr. Alvarez and his team/family were absolutely amazing and took very good care of me. Even now a month after my surgery I have reached out to them with questions and they have answered me rather quickly and friendly.

Dr. Alvarez is a very friendly person and doctor who exhibits complete professionalism. Dr. Alvarez has created (with his team) an extremely detailed process that flows very easily. He provides patients with every bit of specific information needed to travel to San Antonio/Mexico to have surgery. In addition to the written documents with information, Dr. Alvarez arranges personal contacts (nurse or patient coordinator) for each patient. All of the information he and his team provides prepared me very well. There were no surprises or additional costs; I knew what to expect. Everything they said and all that I read was exactly what I experienced. Dr. Alvarez and his team (as well as local people in Texas and Mexico) were extremely friendly and accommodating. They provided all that I (and my travel companion, my mother) needed. I truly feel like a part of Dr. Alvarez's team/family. The connection doesn't end after surgery or after leaving Mexico. Dr. Alvarez and his team remain available to me when I need them. I am very thankful that was able to meet and become a patient of Dr. Alvarez. I highly recommend Dr. Alvarez and the Endobariatric Team to anyone who is considering the surgery of getting "Sleeved."

If you are considering a trip to Piedras Negras, Mexico to see Dr. Guillermo Alvarez you will receive the best care possible. I was sleeved Jan 16, 2018 and Dr. Alvarez far exceeded all my expectations. He exudes excellence and is very passionate about his work. That passion flows through every staff member on his team and they all deliver nothing but the best! Dr. A (that is what us patients respectfully call him) creates for you the perfect sleeve through his skilled craftsmanship and provides you with all the education and resources necessary to be successful upon your return home. My surgery was only seven weeks ago and I am already reaping amazing benefits from this life changing experience. The hospital was very clean with comfortable accommodations. What is exciting is that Dr. A is building his own hospital. I got a glimpse of it while I was there last month and I must say it looks pretty amazing!!! Dr. A is also very active on social media. I have 14 year old twins who stayed in the States while I went to Mexico and through social media they got to experience glimpses of the surgery with me. They thought that was pretty awesome!!! Do your research online as I did and you will not be disappointed!!! It is worth the trip. I had so much fun I plan on returning to visit!!!

Dr. Alvarez is the best, I could have had the surgery in the US, but I did my research and found Dr Alvarez to be the best. It is perfectly safe to go to go to Mexico just across the border from Eagle Pass Texas. All the physicians and Staff were wonderful. We plan to go back just to visit. Thank you Dr Alvarez, best decision I made!

Hi, my name is Amanda & I am 38yrs old...I had surgery by Dr. A on January 5,2018 and I am down 40 pounds! Dr.A & his team are the absolute BEST! I have struggled with my weight for most of my life. When I was 17 I was diagnosed with PCOS. After high school, when I was no longer active in sports the weight came on fast. When I got married we struggled with fertility due to the PCOS. After having our children I began to research different weight loss procedures but none felt like the right fit for me. A little over 2 years ago I began to hear about people going to Mexico for weight loss surgery. They were posting pictures on Facebook of their amazing results and had such wonderful things to say about their surgeon. I was very skeptical at first. Going to Mexico to have 80% of your stomach removed....who does that? But I finally began to research the procedure, the surgeon and his team. You will not find a bad review about Dr Alvarez and his amazing team...there are none. But still I was hesitant. In December 2016 I lost my dad due to complications from type 2 diabetes. I think that is what finally pushed me to take the plunge. One year after losing my dad I had the vertical sleeve gastrectomy with Dr Alvarez. It was by far the best thing I have ever done. He is so wonderful, so knowledgeable, so helpful and with you every single step of the way. I cannot say enough great things about the care I received from he and his incredible staff. No pain, I’ve had no problems or complications. I’m seeing amazing results and I feel better than I have felt in many years. If you are on the fence about having this done, don’t wait any longer....I promise you will not regret it for a second. Follow his guidelines to the letter afterwards, he gives those for a reason. My family and I thank you so much Dr A for giving me my life back!

My name is Lily and i recently had a vsg done with Dr.A as his patients call him. I started at 238 my highest and im down to 202 , i have a thyroid problem which prevented me from ever losing a pound . Since my surgery 12/21/17 i have lost well over 30 lbs . Before the surgery i did extensive research on the doctor , i have plenty of friend whom had this operation with Dr.A and had nothing but remarkable things to say. His team and staff are also amazing i cant stress how much of a great team they all are . You will be in the best hands and have nothing to worry about . Follow every indication he gives you as that is the only way that you can adapt to a new lifestyle . Remember your sleeve is a tool use it wisely and best of luck !

Dr A is a fine surgeon, a gentleman, and an all-around great guy with a terrific sense of humour. From the first time I met him, through the surgery to my discharge, he treated me with respect and compassion. He is a true professional, and does excellent work. I suffered no pain after surgery, apart from some gas pain, and I don't have any regrets whatsoever about my surgery.
I was treated well by all of the staff, and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in Mexico, where my wife and I were treated with kindness and respect by all people we encountered. I would recommend Dr. A to anyone who is interested in the VSG. I credit him with saving my life and giving me a second chance. I am proud to count him among my friends.
