I had gastric bypass with Dr. Ramos in September 2012. He is an amazing doctor. He is very personable and is available any time you need him! He is very thorough and knows what he's talking about and always puts his patient's comfort and safety first! From my very first appointment with him up until now, I couldn't be happier with the care I have received!

Initially my first impression was that he was "matter of fact" during a seminar. I guess it could also be the fact that it was after a long day. He didn't scare me off and I scheduled a consult in his office.

After meeting him face to face, the "matter of fact" demeanor changed. He was much more personable. I guess it could be going from a group presentation to face to face interaction as well. I felt encouraged and more at ease once meeting with him.

His office staff is AWESOME. The nurse in the office has had WLS. The dietician had a good approach as well. Overall, I was impressed. Even the girl up front, who normally did not work in his office, did a wonderful job in answering my questions!

I can't say that there is anything I like "least". The initial impression was that he was "matter of fact", but that changed when face to face.

I would probably tell folks that he is easily understood and appears to know what he is talking about. The hospital has to get a "center of excellence" designation prior to being covered by Medicare, but that is in process.

A good deal of education was done. I did not feel overwhelmed and feel like I should be able to follow the instructions and know he is near if I do run into any problems.

In the aftercare program, there are follow up requirements and availability by phone for questions.

A very thorough seminar went over the risks. I took it upon myself to read all the risks online. He answered most of the questions before I even asked!

Overall rating: very good

Surgical competence is #1, but bedside manner when you're scared or feeling bad goes a long way too!

I do not have anything bad/negative to say.

Dr. Ramos came to PMC as our B. Surgeon. He's a very nice and concerned doc. When I had my 1st appt with him he went over everything from point A to point B about the surgery. Everything that he said was true, not saying that he would lie, but he held up to his words. I was surgery number 52 at the hospital. His bedside manner was just as good as his surgical competence. If I had to redo this surgeyr for any reason I would want him to do it. There were several times that he checked upon me, and that made me realize taht he has concerns with his pt's. Overall I couldn't have asked for a better surgeon in general!!

I have only met Dr. Ramos once and that was yesterday during the seminar. He seems to be very caring, understanding, and knowledgeable. I'm really excited to get to meet with him one-on-one Tuesday (8-11-09).

He is a fantastic surgeon! From the moment I first met him at my consultaion, he put me at ease. My surgery took a little longer than planned and he worked very hard not to have to open me up. He said he owed it to me for all my hard work and weight loss before surgery. I highly recommend him to anyone!

My first impression of Dr. Ramos was that he wasn't very friendly. I was a little intimidated by him (which was because of MY hangups), but over time I have come to realize that he ok and actually has a great sense of humor! He is very friendly after you get to know him.rnrnI just had my 6 week appointment with him yesterday and he patiently answered all of my questions in detail. He is a good listener and remembers the things you tell him. rnrnThe office staff at Barix Clinic in Groveport, OH is awesome. They treated me with dignity and respect at all times. They also treated my friends and family member with great care.rnrnI would reccommend Dr. Ramos and the staff at Barix to anyone.

I have only met Dr Ramos once but he was very nice and put me at ease he is also very funny. Dr Ramos gave a very in depth presentation of the surgery addressing all the benefits and risks. The only concern I have is his lack of experience. I am currently waiting on insurance approval and look forward to working with him more.

Dr. Ramos is very knowledgeable and passionate about WLS. He answered all my questions and put me at ease with my decision to have the surgery. His staff is a fun bunch as well. Your first impression of him may seem as if he's a little robotic but once you start talking to him the more he'll relax and open up.
