Uyen Chu Bariatric Surgeon M.D.,Ph.D.

Dr. Uyen, is a small little lady with a big heart. Ms. Kelly works with the insurance companies and Ms. Jan is the dietician. Overall rating is 10 +. They go above and beyond.

- Dr. Chu seems to be a caring and patient physician.
- The staff is knowledgeable, patient and very helpful.
- They strongly emphasis the reality of gastric bypass being a tool. We still have to follow through to make it work.
- Followups, meetings, following a healty diet are all part of the program as well.

I was kind of leary at first.
After visiting with her and talking to her I knew i made the right choice.

Doctor Chu was great very knowledgeable and very caring. I was impressed with her. and I feel so comfortable with her. She is a tiny woman but very strong. I dont think I have choosen wrong with her. The program at Dr Chu's is very aftercare structured. I rate Dr Chu and her office at a 10.

It's wierd because my initial appointment was with Dr. Stevens her partner, however b/c I didn't the book and test with me, I had to reschedule.----A month later! For some odd reason I decided to go with Dr. Chu instead of Stevens. Divine Intervention! She's WONDERFUL. She was so kind, and personable. We talked about everything from college, to kids, to Asia, to football. LoL
She get's 2 thumbs up!

My Frist Inpression was My Lord look how tiny she is ;-) I frist met her at the marh siminar she was great ...tells it like it is ....Liked her from the start. Her staff is great Kelly Knows Her insurance lol and Jan knows nutrition....Everyone is so pleasent....All aspects were covered amd aftercare is very much emphasized... I was told all the risk of the surgery..I would rate the whole staff a 9+ because no one is perfect ...But they are close ;-)

I LIKED HER, SHE IS PETITE BUT SHE IS THERE TO HELP YOU, AND MAKE SURE THAT YOU SUCCEED, SHE IS ALWAYS AT THE SUPPORT GROUP MEETINGS AND THAT'S THE THING I LIKE THE MOST, WHEN YOU SEE THAT YOU KNOW THAT SHE IS THERE TO HELP EVERYONE SUCCEED AND SHE CARES.

My first impression of Dr. Chu was "She is so petite! What in the world would she know about being overweight?" But I sure was wrong. She and her staff are extrememly empathetic to their patients. They are all great. She spelled everything out in detail and she pulled no punches about the risks and the work that would have to go into losing the weight after surgery. She is a fantastic doctor and I would recommend her and her staff to anyone considering having surgery. They all made me feel like I was special and that I was making the right decision.

Dr Chu is a very nice lady, who is extremely thorough in her exam and care of her patients, she has a very competent staff to assist her in making sure that her patients are well aware of not only the positive aspects of what one is facing, but the possible negative aspects also. She has a very structured program for her patients to follow---she has a dietician on her staff that you are required to see at certain levels of your treatment -- both before and after surgery. Overall at this point in time I am extremely pleased with my selection of Dr Chu as my physician, to give me a new chance at a normal life.

My first impression of Dr. Chu was omg how can this little tiny woman be a surgeon?? she is just the cutest thing on the face of this earth. Over time i learned that she really new what she was doing and that she would be my new angel.. my godsend. The office and staff are awesome... Kelly was awesome!!! she has helped me in any way, shape or form. she lights the fire under the insurance co. behinds lol.. I LOVE YOU KELLY!!! OMG she has awesome bedside manner, she and dr. stevens were awesome. Overall, anyone in the lafayette area that is even thinking of having this surgery, should call her 337-988-8880!!!!
