Dr. Jessee completed medical school in her home state of West Virginia in 1997. She then moved to Largo, Florida where she completed a one year rotating internship as well as her four year general surgery residency. In 2002 she traveled to Coral Gables, Florida for a one year fellowship in advanced laparoscopy and bariatric (weight loss) surgery. Dr. Tiffany Jessee is one of the few fellowship trained Bariatric Surgeons in the state of Florida. This means that she has received additional highly specialized training in bariatric surgery. She opened her practice in Largo, Florida in August 2003, performing general surgery and placing the LAP-BAND® (Allergan). Dr. Jessee is one of only a few surgeons in the Tampa Bay area invited to place the REALIZE™ (Johnson and Johnson) banding system, since approval by the FDA in 2007. Dr. Jessee is a member of the American Society of Bariatric Surgeons and the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons. She is a member of the core teaching staff at Largo Medical Center, where she provides clinical training for general surgery residents. Dr. Jessee is well-known for her compassion towards her patients. She works with each person as an individual to help them achieve, and ultimately maintain, their weight-loss goals.
