Dr. K is wonderful. He is so caring. I did not feel like I was a failure for not losing the weight on my own. He is very honest in letting you know the risks of having this surgery. The after-care has been great so far. His team (Heather/Chris) truly care about how you are doing and are there to help.

Dr. Kothari has been wonderful. He is straight forward, honest, competent, compassionate and very thorough in addressing all aspects of the procedure and the aftercare. He helped me feel comfortable and confident in my decision to have bariatric surgery. His whole team, Chris and Heather and Ruth have been supportive, positive and truly inspirational. They have a relaxed, professional approach combined with humor that just makes you feel so very, very important and so confident in them and in the process. The whole process from pre-op to post-op aftercare is essential in the success of the whole process and Dr. Kothari and his team are solid in this belief.

Dr. Kothari was kind, considerate, professional and understanding all at the same time! The office staff was always very helpful and willing to help in any way. I would recommend Dr. Kothari to anyone considering this surgery.

When I had my first consultation with Dr. Kothari he was very friendy and really knows his business. He must write a real good letter to the insurance company, because I was okayed right away! The staff seem good so far, I haven't had much time with them yet tho. They addressed the risk of surgery very well. I will let you know more at a later date.

I met with Dr. Kothari on April 11,2003. The first impression of him and his entire staff was EXCELLENT! He was a very kind and compassionate man. He didn't rush me and answered all my questions. He talked about everything from what to do to prepare for the surgery to his structured aftercare program. Insurance approved me in 3 days and I am not on the 9 month waiting list. Hopefully December comes soon!

I have had my initial consultation for bariatric surgery. I had to meet with a nutritionist, a phych and the surgeon. It went very well.
I had met my sugeon only 2 weeks before as I needed my gallbladder out and he was the surgeon for that.
I think that is why I decided to follow up this time. He did a great job with my gallbladder and I do not have any fear with him at all.
I will say that with my gallbladder, he did not even come and see me after the surgery, but I was operated on at 1:30 in the afternoon and I was out by 5:30pm. I am a quick recovery kind of person as I want out of the hospital asap.
I anxiously await this surgery, but have six months to go. 8 month waiting list.

4-16-03 Had surgery on 4-10-03 and all went great. Dr. Kothari has an excellent follow up plan and a great team. Of course the one complaint that I will give is those dam nurses waking me up and not letting me sleep. But I also am aware that they are doing their job. I am just a crab when I am awaken. I really feel confident that Dr. Kothari is one of the best in the country. He has not had any deaths to date from what I hear anyway, but he is open with the statistics and does not give any false information. He gives you the facts and that is it. Very straight forward and lets you know how much your life is going to change. I truly think he is a great surgeon.

I haven't met w/ Dr. Kothari yet, but I am going to the informational meeting tomorrow. I have done quite a bit of reading on several doctors in MN and WI and Dr. Kothari sounds like the choice for me - and he's in my area :)

3/30/03 - I met w/ Dr. Kothari and the bariatric team on Friday. I was so impressed w/ how helpful everyone was and how sincere they are about helping us. The team is very straightforward about the surgery and does not sugar-coat anything. There are risks involved in this surgery and the decision should not be taken lightly. I am very impressed w/ how proactive Dr. Kothari and his team are and I feel that they are really covering all bases - emotional, physical, before and after surgery, etc, etc. At this point, I would highly recommend Dr. Kothari and the bariatric team.

I had a great first impression of Dr. Kothari. What I liked most was that he seemed to really listen to what I had to say, and seemed very understanding. He also is very good at explaining things. He gave me so much information that I couldn't even think of anything else to ask him! I have researched this very well over the last 2 years and know this is what I want...Yes, he did tell me this is not a get done with surgery, be done with it all..I will work hard to have a healthy long life. He advised me of all of the risks, but I believe that by not doing this, I am taking a risk on more health problems. So far I rate him a 10 out of 10...

Hi,
I have been approved since Sept 2002. I was very lucky to be approved so quickly.

I have met Dr Kothari once, he was very imformative and did not seemed rush, he answered all our questions and spoke to our level of understanding. Also he made my husband feel comfortable, which is a big plus for me because my husband did not understand why anybody would ever have an elective surgery.

Dr Kothari performed surgery on a friend of mine a year ago Nov. and one of the things that impressed me the most was the number of follow up visits Dr Kothari requires. I personally like this because it symbolizes to me that Dr Kothari is concerned about my long term well being.

One of my current frustrations with Dr Kothari and his team is the waiting for a date. I have been approved for what seems like a life time for me. And I called his scheduling person "Ruth" to get some kind of estimate and she would not give me anything! Except my name was coming up on the list. What exactly does that mean?! I would of been happier and more comfortable at this time if I had a date. This is an elective surgery so you would think giving people a date should not be that big of a deal. Personally I would rather have a date, and a month before have it altered, if it needed to be than not to have a date at all.

Believe it or not I am excited and also very scared about having this done. There is going to be some big changes in my life and the lives of my family.

Thanks for your time, Pam Kinney
