My first impression of Dr.Clements was , how up front about the negative aspects of the surgury. I soon realized he just wanted to be very clear about everything the good and bad. His office staff are nice and helpful although very busy and sometimes hard to reach. They are hard core about aftercare do what you where told. I would give them a 9 out of 10 just becouse its somewhat difficult to reach them on the phone. I think ther surgical competence and bedside manner are both wonderful.

I saw Dr. Clements at my second support group meeting. Then again at my first appointment. He seems very nice. His staff has been very helpful with anything I need to know. I have been told he is one of the best in Alabama, I sure hope so! He get's an A+ so far! At a year and a half out I am at goal and very happy. This surgery is a very good tool, and your success depends on if you do what Dr. Clements tells you. He is a very good Dr. I thank God every day for being able to have this surgery and pray that my body stays strong and healthy. Since surgery I no longer have diabetes or acid reflux. I feel wonderful!

Dr Clements and his staff are definitely top notch! Theresa and Lynn can empathise with you because they both have had the surgery and have been there, every step. He is very straighforward yet gentle and kind, and has a really good sense of humor - something I find important. I would recommend him to anyone who is looking into not only the RNY but any type of general surgery.

I sat here and read all of the reviews on Dr. Clements. I really don't know anything that I could possibly say that hasn't already been said. In the chiropractic office waiting room where I work there is a sign hanging up that reads: "The best compliment that a patient can give to us...is the referral of your friends". The chiropractic doctor that I work for went with me for my initial visit with Dr. Clements so that we both could learn more information about gastric bypass and Dr. Clements (me for myself, and she for her patients that she might want to refer). We were both very impressed with Dr. Clements, Teresa and Lynn. Since I had my surgery in April of 2005, I have referred three of my dearest friends to Dr. Clements. I went with them for their support group meetings. All three of them have had their surgeries at this point and all three of them are doing well. We are 100 miles away from Birmingham and we plan to carpool to Bham for the support group meetings as much as possible. The four of us feel like we have each other to rely on and we know that we have Dr. Clements and his staff for any questions no matter how silly they may seem. I feel that Dr. Clements and his staff are a 10 and I definitely feel that his surgical competence and bedside manner are equally important and equally would be rated a 10. You're in good hands with UAB, Dr. Clements, and staff. Thanks!!

Dr. Clemtents and his staff are WONDERFUL!!! I had my first visit on 11/28/05 and was very impressed with everyone in his office. I would recommend Dr. Clements to anyone who is interested in having WLS. I am now waiting approval from Blue Cross.

So far I have only dealt with Lynn. She has been wonderful and very helpful in finding out exactly what my insurance company requires for the band.

Dr. Ronald Clements and his staff are very thorough, pleasant and accommodating. He answered all my questions (I had 3 pages!) concisely and honestly. He was very clear about the risks of the surgery, as well as about my responsibilities and expectations as a patient. He is personable without being too chummy, and also seems accessible in a way that many surgeons do not. Dr. Clements has done hundreds (really) of the RNY procedures, most of them laparoscopically. Dr. C is an intelligent, calm, direct man who will look you in the eye and tell you the truth. This doctor's genuine room-filling confidence can come only from his many successes. Please consider Dr. Clements for RNY or LAP-BAND surgery if you are in the Birmingham, Alabama area. They have a wonderful aftercare program.

When I first met Dr. Clements and his staff - Teresa - I knew automatically i was on good hands. They are both genuinely concerned about the needs and well-being of each and every individual that comes through the door. They were very helpful with all of my questions and never hesitated about answering any that I may have had. I would rate pre op and post op procedures outstanding, along with aftercare - Dr. Clements has a great support group that meets the last of every month on a Monday that is truely helpful and supportive.

My first impression of Dr. Clements is he is very professional and down to earth about the surgery. He let's you know from the time he walks in the room if you are not going to follow his plan leave now. His office staff is great. I just went for my first visit on April 11, 2005. It has taken me since November of 2004 just to get the appointment with him. His after care program is just as important for you. He just seems to know so much about this and really cares about each patient. I am very excited about my surgery and hope blue/cross /blue shield approves me. I have alot of health problems due to my weight.But my insurance is very strict now about approving just anyone. I will update when I hear from my BC/BS.

I was referred to Dr. Ronald H. Clements by my primary care physician at The Kirkland Clinic in Birmingham, Alabama. Dr. Gruman - thank you!! I have met and consulted with Dr. Clements early this week and he told me I am a candidate for the weight loss surgery. I have opted to go with the Lap Band procedure. Dr. Clements was very informative in both the group consultation, as well as my private consultation with him. He strikes me as being very caring about people who struggle with obesity. He is very open and honest about the weight loss surgery and the "only one reason why I do this surgery," that reason being to help people eliminate life-threatening conditions they have as a result of morbid obesity. I look forward to working with Dr. Clements toward finding my "new self."
