Dr. Clements and his team are very awesome. I knew from the beginning that I was in very good hands and never had a worry! I knew all the risks before entering into my surgery and would not have done anything different.

Dr. Clements and his staff are absolute pros at this surgery. From the moment I went in for my first appointment, I knew I had made the right decision. rnrnDr. Clements doesn't sugarcoat anything. He's a straight shooter and a whiz with a scalpel. rnrnHis staff are ultrahelpful and the friendliest medical professionals I've ever encountered. They're there every step of the way and, in my experience, very available for questions.rnrnI had my first consultation on February 5, 2007, and (thanks to the fact that I had all my ducks in a row rather quickly) I was approved the next week. My surgery was originally scheduled for February 28, but due to family scheduling conflicts, it was pushed back a week to March 6.rnrnThe surgery went off without a hitch, and besides catching a tricky stomach virus in the hospital, I've had no complications. I went home March 8. A little gas pressure the first week, but no major problems. rnrnOverall, I would recommend Dr. Clements to anyone considering this surgery. I couldn't imagine being in better hands.

Dr. Clements and his staff were wonderful!! I would highly recommend them to everyone who is considering WLS. He and his staff emphasize aftercare and if you'll follow their directions you'll do great. I would have this surgery again in a heartbeat. It will be 6 months on 3/12/07 and I've lost 88 pounds and feel great and I have no regrets!!

Originally I loved Dr Clements and his staff. Lynn is great. Teresa is really nice, but really busy, so sometimes is hard to get in touch with. My problem with Dr Clements arose last year when we found out that my band has a leak somewhere. We aren't sure if the leak was because of a defective band/port, or if it was punctured by the doctor during a fill. My fills always took forever! Way longer than they should have. Dr Clements acknowledges that if the band is not defective, it is his fault that it's leaky. Even though he admits this, he refuses to pay for the replacement surgery, that is required to be payed for prior to surgery, since it is \"elective\". While I am very appreciative that Dr Clements is not charging a dr's fee, and that all is being charged is OR fee, anesthesia, and parts, I still feel like this is unfair and unethical on his part.

My initial visit with Dr. Clements was on Monday, July 31, 2006. I was very impressed at his care and committment to his patients. I originally had WLS scheduled for 08/29/2006 but due to unforeseen liver cirrhosis only a liver biopsy was performed at this time (and I was referred to a wonderful UAB liver specialist - Dr. Abrams). Dr. Clements spent the time to explain the risks every step of the way to me to insure that my liver was healthy enough for surgery and that the WLS would not create future health problems for me. I appreciate a surgeon who cares about the health of his patients! After several rounds of diagnostic testing and retests, I was again cleared for WLS and a new surgery date scheduled for 12/20/2006. This time the WLS was performed and now several days post-op I am feeling better than I ever expected! I spent only TWO DAYS in the hospital (one in ICU due to my sleep apnea and potential problems with pain medications and one night in private room on regular floor.) Dr. Clements and his staff took very good care of me and made sure that I knew all the aftercare guidelines. My first followup appointment is January 5, 2007. I would highly recommend Dr. Clements if anyone is considering Weight Loss Surgery. rn

My first impression was \"He's too young to be a surgeon!\" but on talking to him I realized he was older than I thought at first. His support staff is excellent...very warm and understanding...they've all had WLS themselves! Future patients should know he is very direct; some people don't like this but in a surgeon I appreciate it He also places great emphasis on following post-op and eating instructions, keeping f/u appointments, and contacting him if problems arise. He addresses not only the risks of the surgery itself, but those that could occur post-op. He is an excellent surgeon and his genuine caring comes through in his \"bedside manner.\" I've only been hospitalized twice but Dr. Clements FAR out did the other doctor in this area.

Great surgeon, wonderful skills and bed side manner, and a structured after care program. rnHe and his nurse Teresa are very upfront and honest.rn

What can you say about a surgeon like Dr. Clements that hasnt already been said. He is beyond educated not only in WLS but in so many areas of surgery. His knowledge put so many of my fears to ease at once. He is also very upfront about the risk and benefits of the operation. I appreciated that even though it seemed a bit harsh, I felt comfortable knowing all sides of the story ( not just the good things). His staff has been kind, gentle, and really seems to care about each patient and your individual needs and concerns. He is not only highly reccomended by me but many others both professionaly and non-pro. rnrn

'I liked Dr. Clements from the first morning he came flying into the room. He sat down and got right to business. He is very strict on what he wants you to do. He is very outspoken about the risk and that you must abide by the rules. NO SUGARY DRINKS ever again. His office staff is wonderful. Teresa and Lynn have been so helpful. Lynn was great about working with me to get approved. THANKS Lynn!! I don't think there is any thing that I don't like about Dr. Clements. I feel that I am in very caring
