Doctor Quaidwas very nice good looking and strait to the point. He tried to talk me out of having the surgery because it is a life changing thing. I was impressed with all the information he supplied me with and really had no questions when done. VERY thorough.very nice staff. I loved his medical knouwledge but want the surgery NOW for he made me feel so comfortable. The after care program is so structured according to the information we recieved it really stress's the excersise program and finally for once in my life i am ready.

He explained the risks but seemed small compared to the change I am willing to do for a NEW life.
Surgical competence to me... I will always have support and bedside mannor from my family.

My first impression of Dr. Quaid was...WOW he is YOUNG!!! He is GREAT though. He talked to me for a long time. He is very light spoken. He told me just about everything that I need to know about this surgery. He wanted to make sure that I took time to think it over, and that I understood exactly what I was getting myself into. His office staff are the nicest people you will ever meet. They are very busy, but they never treat you like they don't have time for you. Future patients should know that although he is young, he is very informed and experienced in his field. He takes his job very seriously and cares about his patients. He said he likes to help people feel better and get healthy. He made sure that I fully understood all of the risks of surgery. I have spoke with him at my consult and at my pre-op appointments. I also went to the support group meeting on May 20th. He was there answering questions. I am very impressed with him. I have full faith that he will do a wonderful job with my surgery and everything will turn out GREAT!!!!

I met Dr. Quaid in February 2002. My first thoughts were that he was informative and thorough. He is compassionate and patient, and seems very personable. I was on a waiting list for almost 7 months, I found the office staff to be helpful and pleasant. Dr. Quaid was upfront about the complications and risks of the surgery. I feel confident with him as my surgeon.

I am now 6 days post-op, and I can safely say that Dr. Quaid is totally awesome!! I felt so secure and confiedent with him doing this surgery, his office staff is also completly helpful. If you live in Colorado or near by, I would recommend him and the Poudre Valley Hospital to anyone, my experience there and with him was great, everything I could have asked for. I just read the bottom of this page and it says no one can be the best, well, I think that Dr. Quaid is the best!!

I liked Dr Quaid. He answered all my questions and more. I felt very comfortable having him as my surgeon. His office staff is very nice and make you feel as if you are not this terrible monster because you are overweight. They are also good at explaining the whole procedure from start to finish, leaving no stone unturned. I would definately recommend Dr. Quaid to anyone who is thinking about this and is close to the Ft Collins, CO area.

Dr. Quaid has assisted Dr. Otteman for about 5 years. He is now branching out on his own so that he is the lead surgeon and for a while, Dr. Otteman is assisting him. Dr. Quaid tells me that there are always 2 doctors involved in the surgery. The whole office is very involved in before and after care. They operate a support group which meets at PVH on the last Monday of every month. They also require before and after meetings with a dietician and f/u care on a regular basis with the surgeon. I've also been given information on who to call there if something is going wrong or if I have a question. The office staff are always courteous, but seem friendly only from the first actual consult on.
At my consult, Dr. Quaid was very open about the risks/benefits of the surgery and between him and Becky (the nurse), I learned not only national averages, but also how that compared with their office stats. Dr. Quaid strikes me as kind of quiet, honest, and caring in a reserved sort of way. I liked him.
From what I've seen and heard, it looks as though Dr. Quaid is looking into doing this procedure laparoscopically, but it may be a while before that happens.
