Robert E. Cole Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

First visit 1/30/06 - Dr. Cole is an extremely caring and sensitive surgeon. He is the first physician I've talked to who doesn't seem to blame me for being overweight. He clearly explained the whole procedure in easy to understand terms. I felt very relaxed and comfortable talking to him.

05/2004 - On first impression I felt Dr. Cole was a very compassionate yet candid surgeon. He likes to sit next to his patients on the bench to show them they are not alone and to give them his undivided attention. He is candid in that he is very up front and honest about all aspects of the surgery from the pros to the cons. I would definitely rate him as a 10+ at this point.
His office staff has been very helpful and friendly. I have a 3-hour drive so they scheduled a few of my appointments for the same day to save me a trip. They have always been patient and understanding when I call in to ask questions... and I have called many many times while getting all of the pre-surgery testing done through my primary care physician.
I would definitely recommend Dr. Cole to anyone, so far, based on his office staff and himself.

He has a very good bedside manner. I have only met with him once as i am now trying to get more documentation so that i can go through surgery and my insurance will cover it. If not i have to wait another 6monthes bein watched by my family physician .....sigh..

I interviewed 2 different surgeons. I had a hard time deciding which surgery was right for me. I drove 2 hours to meet with a Duodenal Switch surgeon. I felt very comfortable with him, but after listening to his description and doing more research on that surgery, hubby & I decided that it wasn't a good fit for me. I chose Dr. Cole because I felt very comfortable with him. He seemed very serious and gave alot of good information. His office is very close to my house. I'm hoping that after I have surgery I will be able to ride my bike to some follow up appointments. That sounds really strange because I couldn't even attempt to ride it now. I can't breathe enough to go around the block.

I have found that Dr. Cole is very dedicated to his patients. He is very straignt forward. And truly does want all of his patients to be successful with their surgery.

At first, I thought Dr. Cole was a little cold but once I got to know him I realized I really liked him and was confident in my decision for chosing him as my Doctor.
His office staff is wonderful, even after all the headaches we had with TriCare. Sarah We lived three hours away from Dr. Cole's office and it was nice for me to just be able to pick up the phone and call if I had a question. They were never too busy to help me. Sarah is terrific, she listens to all your concerns and complaints and taking whining with a grain of salt! The hospital I had my surgery in wasn't that great and the care was a little lacking but everyone was very nice and understanding.

DR. Cole is a great Doc, he explains everything to you and really helps you understand what he will do and what to expect. I would recommend him to anyone considering having WLS.

I wondered what a tall, thin man would ever understand about being overweight...boy was I wrong. Dr. Cole is the most non-judgemental and compassionate man I have ever met. I felt comfortable with him and his ability immediately. The staff is great and knowledgeable. I see him or his associate on a regular basis and I feel very comforted to know that there isn't anything I can't tell them. They are very honest and are always there when I have needed them. Dr. Cole has the best bedside manor and has always told me that this was a tool that I needed to use to the best of my ability.

I've had my initial visit with Dr. Cole and found his office manner to be very nice and informative. He went over everything very much like your tutorial. Can't wait for my 2nd visit with his team.

At first I was little worried when I met Dr. Cole. I've never had a lot of positive expiriences with medical providers so my expectations were very low. I have to be honest though, I really liked him. He was very caring and made every effort to explain the procedure to me as well as the possible complications.
He never made me feel bad for needing the surgery. He was very kind and answered my questions thuroughly. I realy liked his reassuring attitude.
Hands down one of the best doctors I have ever seen.
