Dr. Rantis was wonderful during my pre-op consultation. He had many other patients waiting on him, and he made sure that I was comfortable and understood all that he was saying. He was a little aprehensive about accepting me as a patient since I JUST meet the requirements of a BMI of 40 and have no co-morbidities. However, we reviewed my previous attempts, and he agreed that I would benefit from the use of gastric bypass as a tool. I was very comfortable with him.

I first met Dr. Rantis at the inital meeting that we went too, so I was quite suprised to learn that I got him for my surgery. He is a very caring and outspoken Dr. The staff has been great there although I have only seen him once since offically, next time will be on this Tuesday,April 2nd when I have my surgery.

He was great at letting me know all the risks that where involved and that I was making a great choice to better improve my life.

Nothing negative yet like I said one quick meeting with him, however I have researched and prayed about this for quite a while.

My first impression of Dr. Rantis was not as a surgeon, but a humble, kind, caring person. The reason I say this is when I went for my consult today which was scheduled for 8:30 am, I was told by the staff that Dr. Rantis was running late and my appointment would be delayed for a while. I was not upset, as I know he is a very busy man, and I figured I have waited this long, I could wait a little longer. After about an hour or so of waiting, the nurse called me back and shortly Dr. Rantis came in and introduced himself. Before he even introduced himself, he apoligized multiple times and said that our time was AS valuable as his and it was inexcusable for the delay. He could have said nothing else after that and I would have left with a wonderful feeling that I had made the right choice. He then proceeded to talk about the practiced, number of surgeries he has performed, complications, etc. He was honest and upfront about EVERYTHING and even though his waiting room was backed up with patients from the delay, he NEVER made me feel rushed. He answered every question, thanked and complimented my dh for comiing with me as he emphasizes family support, and stressed the importance of aftercare and the support groups. Overall I would rate Dr. Rantis a "10" and I would highly recommend him to anyone. I will update after surgery about bedside manner. I have no doubt it will be wonderful.

My first vist was ok I really didnt have a lot of questions but Dr. Rantis was very informative and I felt very comfortable with him & his ability to do the surgery. There group also has a aftercare program which I thought was very important. Now that I am 5 months out I want to say that he did a GREAT job and when I call him he has been very helpful and has made me feel that if I have any problem I can call or come in at any time. The girls in the office are very nice & helpful too. I am very happy to have found this group. I just want to say Thank You for you have made a trimendouse change in my life and out of a rating of 1-10 Dr. Rantis is a 10!!!!

Dr Rantis is a very nice, concerned person, who seems to have a lot of empathy for his patients. So far he has been imformative, and genuinely nice. He explained all the risks involved, and wanted to make sure this is what I wanted. Overall, from what I know of him (pre-surgically), I would recommend him to anyone!

My husband and I went to see Dr. Rantis after I had completed all my prelemary testing for this surgery. He was very nice, quiet and listened . To myself and my husband. He talked of the neg. things that could happen. He talked so my husband could understand. THe office was very nice. He is part of the weight for life group out of California. Since I saw Dr. Kanes seminar I have contacted them by phone and computer and have always recieved the most friendly, pro. staff. You do need to do your homework in types of surgeries there are . I went to the doctor will copies of all test and procedures that I had over the past year by other doctors. So all went very good.Dr. Rantis seemed to be knowlegable. We will see how he is in the hospital.

My impression of Dr. Rantis was very positive. He spent plenty of time going over the surgery details and potential risks involved. I am now pre-op and awaiting surgery, so I will be happy to share my continued experiences with him after 9/28.

At this point, wow...what can I say? Dr. Rantis and his staff are tops! They have all been so supportive and kind, and I think Dr. Rantis is kind, compassionate and very competent. I trust him completely. The staff at Alexian Bros. Hospital, where I will have my surgery, has been great, as well. I went in for pre-operative testing and was blown away at the efficiency! I spent no more than five minutes in the waiting room. Also, everyone was fun and kind and made me feel at ease. My only negative experience came from my stomach x-rays at the hospital. The technician was very nice, but she "diagnosed" me with scoliosis and then told me not to tell the doctor. She showed me the x-ray (and the curvature of my spine) and said the doctor would get in touch with me.

All in all, though, I recommend the whole experience, so far, to anyone. If anything changes, I will report.

my first impression of Dr. Rantiss was that he was very quiet. He started talking and told me the jist of what they did during the surgery and reviewed the risks. He was willing to talk with me as long as nec.

He is the quiet type in my opinion but he comes off as very confident and all along I had the feeling from him that he was very competant.

The staff was friendly and helpful.

The team of Kane- Rantis and Gusky all are very serious about aftercare. Personally I have already agreed to stay in therapy at least for the next 6 months and they stress the in house therapy available.

I prefer his demeanor in a Dr. To the point and skilled.

His skills are his strong side.
