My doctor. Dr. DiMarco is one of the best people around. He is giving me my life back. He is very kind, considerate and attentive to his patients needs. He truly is my life saver. At 24 years old ant 355, a normal life, I did not know. He and his team gave it back to me.

I met Dr. DiMarco on 4/02/03 for my surgical consult. He was very patient and informative. I was impressed with his knowledge and straight forwardness about the surgery. I feel very positive about his compassion for obese people and his surgical abilities.Even though I have not had the surgery yet, I would recommend him to anyone looking for a surgeon. He was very thorough in explaining what to expect during and after surgery. He made sure I understood the risks as well as the commitment involved. He was pleasant, "down to earth" and not in a hurry to get done! I had my EGD done on 4/09/03 by Dr. DiMarco's associate,Dr Currie. He was pleasant as well, and the staff in the endoscopy lab were very nice and knowledgeable about the procedure. So far, I have no complaints about anything!!!

I did get to meet Dr DiMarco for the first time on Feb. 26th. My husband went along. We both felt assured that Dr DiMarco was a good choice for me. He made me feel very comfortable about the decision to have the surgery and I feel he has the experience to do the job very professionally. He took the time to explain the surgery and also to listen to any questions from me and my husband. I have not gotten a surgery date as of yet. I did get accepted by my ins. company. It took only a few days once the paperwork was submitted. I had already done everything I thought they may ask for... even before they asked such as getting letters from other doctors stating the need to lose weight. It has been a long road for me since I first began this "journey" back in November, but I was determined to get this done. I feel very confident that I have made the right decision and I have chosen the best doctor for this surgery. He told my husband he is allowed to stay with me at the hospital for the entire time, this made both of us happy because I know it is going to be scary, and I will feel a little better knowing he is there with me. This was my first visit with Dr. DiMarco so all I can say right now is... he does make a good first impression. He did explain the surgery very through, drawing pictures as he went along. The only negative thing I can say about my first trip is...Dr DiMarco told me "he did not need my papers that I had gotten from all the tests, other doctor visits etc". (which his office staff had told me I would need before submission to my ins. co.) My instincts told me to give them to his office staff that day but I listened to the doctor (and my husband) and held unto them, After two weeks I called Erin at the Weight Loss Clinic to inquire on the status of my answer from the insurance company, she pulled my file and had a note stating "waiting for paperwork from patient before submitting". I was so mad at myself for not giving it to the staff on my consultation day. I worked really hard to get all my paperwork in order and also had done the 90 day diet...which I lost 6 pds. this only delayed me about ten days because I still had to see the reg. dietician. I am definitely going to be persistant and not hesitate to call the clinic when I have any questions no matter how simple they may be. I am going for the test involving the scope down into the stomach day after tommorrow. I got my pre surgery check up today. After the test results come back I will then get my date. I am scared but anxious to get it overwith.

When I first Dr. DiMarco, I was very nervous. My mother recommened him to me and said he was very nice and cute(he was)lol, He explained the procedure to me and I relaxed. I knew that I was going to have this surgery because I saw the difference in my mom. He told me I would have to go through a series of pre-op testing. He explained What would happen during the surgery he was not sure if he was going to do this surgery open or lap because I had previously had my stomach stapled. It turned out he could to it lap. He is the best surgeon someone could go to. I have recommeneded him to some people and I know at leat to who have either already had their first consult or are having it soon. Dr. DiMarco can do no wrong in my eyes

*2/19/03* Just a quick note to say how great I think Drs. DiMarco, Wieger and Currie are. Thanks for all the hard work and personal effort that goes into each person success. This site is the greatest. Everytime I log-on there is something new. Keep up the great work!

*3/2002*Unfortunately, you can't make everybody happy. I am very pleased with Dr. DiMarco's office and his staff. So happy that I gave up my job of 8 years and started working for him in November. Most of our patients are very caring and realize that our services and Dr. DiMarco's time are in high demand. We do not run a "factory line" of gastric bypass patients. Each patient has Dr. DiMarco and Dr. Wieger's FULL ATTENTION. I know, from experience, that when they are late for an appointment, it's for a damn good reason. If I were the one on the OR table, in distress, I know he wouldn't be worrying about some patient at the office, waiting for an "elective surgery" consult. I also know that once he does show up for my surgery consult, I have his full attention for as long as I need it. He won't leave the room until all my question/concerns are answered.
I can't say enough about Dr. DiMarco. He is WONDERFUL! I thank him everyday for the skills to do what he has. It has taken a lot of work, but together we've come a long way. The support group is going strong. If anybody would like information, please feel free to e-mail me.

Dr/ DiMarco, kind and gentle man explained everything in detail ..
Staff very helpful and supportive
works with my schedule
waiting to see him lol
he cares about his patients its not just a job.
The aftercare was highly emphasized.
Yes he does have a support group. and they helped our part of Pa to start a group also . yes the after care program was very complete to me . Being a surgical tech and working in surgery I new the risks but he still explained it again and made sure i understood. I would rate him as excellent. I would recommend any one to go to him.. but wait that means i have to wait longer to get in to see him... on second though............. I highly recommend him I only wish he could have taken out my drain.. the poor intern had to pull on it twice... ouch twice as much pain.. but i guess they have to learn somewhere. I was one of them

Well I guess it would be about time that I comment on Dr. DiMarco. It's been over 3 months since my surgery and I'm doing quite well. Dr. D was the BEST CHOICE I could have ever made. The consultation was smooth and informative. He did not rush me and answered any and all questions. He came to occasional support group meeting to either talk or to listen. The next time that I would see him was the day of my surgery. He was very positive and he has this "calming" aura about him...can't quite put my finger on it...but he reassured me everything would be fine, which it was. Bedside manner is eloquent...again very calming and reassuring..I couldn't have made a wiser choice regarding this life altering surgery. THANK YOU DR. DIMARCO FOR SAVING MY LIFE!!!!!!

I enjoyed meeting with Dr. Dimarco the first time. He was relaxed and informative and seemed more than willing to answer the questions I had. Since that first visit with him I have more questions for him, however when I see him again in February I will make sure to ask them. So far my experience with him has been very good.

was not shore the first time i met the dr. was at a meeting and there was 30 other people there to talk to him to, so could not get on a one to one talk.
As far as impression over time.i think i had the best of the best. now this was the first time i was in a hosp.but still he was good to me.
Office staff this is one point that the dr. needs to take a long look at.i am sure he can see it.and knows what a lot of us here at harrisburg have to put up with.we look for help and this (her) could care less she has no time for anyone .
future patients-what i got to say about this is take notes you will be fine .go to all the people that have been there.they will be your best FRIENDS.
risk-in surgery there will be a risk.but the way i look at it is if it is you time it is your time.
rate the dr. at this time i say (good)
i would say surgical competence(great)

i would like to say thanks to the other people that had this and took time to help me get up for this.i just got out of the hosp 2 days ago.and a bit sore..
THANKS--DALLAS KIRK
