Dr. Cooperstone is very serious but at the same time he has a good sense of humor. At first I wasnt sure about him because he seemed a little intimidating but after about 10 minutes that notion was out of of my head. His office staff isnt very big but they are great. Fern his office manager is such a nice woman. Right now there is nothing that I dont like about Dr. C or his staff. If there was I wouldnt want him to be the one who is going to perform a big life changing surgery on me. I have not had surgery yet but I am patiently waiting for insurance approval so I cant actually comment on his aftercare, but I have been told that he is great with EVERYTHING! He is very professional and discusses everything about the surgery and afterwards. I would rate him a 10 so far! Hes the best and I encourage others to use him or even just make an appt to see what hes like.

My first impression of Doctor Cooperstone was his dry sense of humor and his get down to business attitude..I was warned of this and I liked him.. I just want someone who knows what he's doing and shares all concerns. The office staff Fern and a temp, were both very nice. When I went in to the office I had a list of questions in my pocketbook that I never even took out because as he spoke and went through all the stages from prep to after care he answered everything I had intended to ask. To be honest we had a chuckle or two and it was a nice surprise.

Surgical competence should be the overall care of anyone seeking this surgery..I was spoken to with respect and care , which if you are overweight, should know that does not happen quite often in the medical profession.

When I first met Dr. Cooperstone I was not sure if he was the surgeon for me. However, that night I went to a support meeting and the support group was excellant. Dr. Cooperstone's assistant coordinates the support meetings and she does an excellant job and in my opinion, Fern is very important to Dr. Cooperstones practice. During my initial meeting the doctor explained the entire surgery. No questions were left unanswered. As far as evaluating his skills I can tell you more after the surgery. However, his patients have great trust and admiration for Dr. Cooperstone and that was extremely important in my decision in selecting a surgeon.

The most important thing I can say at this time is that I trust Doctor Cooperstone.

Well I am home since Thursday. Now for my final evaluation for Dr. Cooperstone. 10+++ for everything he does. 10+++ for bedside manner. This is a life altering event, something he takes very seriously and so do I. I have no negative comments for him or Fern, just praise, and Thank-you foe being my surgeon.

I started this journey back in October of 2002--I had started out with a different Dr in the beginning-After waiting 3 months for a consulsultation and informed that surgery would be at least 9 months away--i searched this site for another Dr.---After days of searching and talking with people I know who have had the surgery---I found Dr. Cooperstone..I set up a consult with him and saw him around Jan 20th 2003..The Dr. was straight forward and very serious on the subject of bypass surgery. I liked his style and was very comfortable with him.His righthand person (Fern, your the greatest)I now have a surgery date and wil begin the new life very shortly..I owe alot of thanks to Dr. Cooperstone,Fern, and beloved best friend (Penny,,Ilove you) to help me achieve something i thought never would be possible

I met Doctor copperstone in december of 2002,my first impression of him was that he was very relaxed and very serious. He was very direct and explain the procedures to me thoroughly.By the 2nd visit i felt very comfortable with doctor copperstone, his office staff was very friendly and professional.Fern his office manager is such a upbeat person, it is truly a pleasure to talk with her. I visited my first group meeting at northshore hospital in Jnauary 03,the members that attended were very informative and it was a great help to me knowing that there were dozen of people just like me who share the same opinions. Dr copperstone advise me of the risk involed, i was also given a test by dr. copperstone. i would rate dr. copperstone as a very profeesional person and the main thing he is associated with one of the best hospitals in new york.

Dr.Cooperstone was wonderful in my book. At my first consul he explained everything about the procedure to my husband and I. At visit two when I had told him that I had deceided to do the surgery. He made me take a test ( I passed!!!!) He explained to me in detail any answers that I had gotten wrong. He then again answered any questions I had. His office staff (FERN)is excellent. She is so wonderful and caring. She got my approval very speedily and then moved up my surgery date. She has also been so wonderful with answering any questions that I had. Dr.Cooperstone has a wonderful support group they are always there for you 24/7. There are two meetings a month, one for pre/op and one for post/op.

I though he was very nice and patient. I have only seen him once but I think we're going to be good friends. Very nice, friendly and helpful. As of now nothing so far. That they need to go and see him if they are sure about this treatment, and if they decided to take this step it will be best to take with Dr.C. I don't know yet I am still waiting for the approval from the Insurance Co. about the surgery, then I could comment about the service he and hes staff provide. Very informative and knowledgable. Very nice and professional.
Everything is GREAT.

My first impression of my doctor visit was; It was wonderful my doctor took his time and explained everything I asked about.

My impression never changed about him ever.

His office is my extended family. (they are that nice)

I have nothing bad to say at all!!!!

My doctor is/was very sincere and understanding.

He addressed the surgery risks very much and the follow ups are fun.

He has support groups and functions just for us as well as alot of literature.
He is very serious and he makes you take tests to see where your head is at.
1-10 I would give him a 10.

His bedside manner and surgical competence are both great. He's really a warm and caring person.

It's been a while since I updated my information about Dr.Cooperstone. I had my surgery on March 4th 2003 and all I can say that Dr. Cooperstone is a prince in my book. He was great the day of the surgery and thereafter. I just came from my first post-op and I really thought I would be in and out just because it was a follow-up but I was wrong. Dr. Cooperstone actually took me into his office after my visit to ask me how I am really doing and to answer any questions I have etc... I really find him and his staff (Fern) to be number one in my book. Dr. Cooperstone treats all his patients as individuals not just a number. If you choose Dr. Cooperstone just trust him he is the best.
