I had my surgeon consult with Dr. M in December 2007 and he was super knowledgeable and kind. I was really comfortable with him, I mean, you have to be if youre going to let a Dr slice you up like that! He did my surgery beautifully in April of 2008, and so far I havent had any complications (knock on wood!) He answered all of my questions and continues to support my weight loss journey. And he's a real looker too lol that helps!!!! ;c)
I met Dr. Montgomery in November 2007 for a consultation to see if I would be a good candidate to band over bypass. Really felt he listened, has a good bedside manner and he spend a lot of time answering all of my questions in detail. rnrnHis staff was wonderful - I can't say enough good things about them. They are professional, curteous and well trained.rnrnFuture patients should know they are getting one of the best surgeons in the country.rnrnHe went over in detail all of the risks, the side effects and the positives of the surgery. rnrn
1st Impression: VERY kind, caring and concerned.rnOver time: still very sweet very concerned- wonderful bedside manner.rnOffice staff: extremely helpful, prompt, and well educated about the band (all office staff have the band)rnLeast like: he may be a little too nice for my likes at times- I get too mushy too fast especially where my weight is concerned, I seem to melt to tears everytime I see him and he is just so darn nice with words to me.rnFuture pts: see abovernAftercare: is of the UTMOST importance to their office. all aftercare is covered 100% for the first year- all fills as many as you need.rnit is a somewhat structured system if you want it to be- check ins as often as you like or as little as you like.rnRisks- ALL were discussed prior to surgeryrnRate overall- A+ and beyondrnSurgical competence and bedside manner were amazing- he's done thousands of the bands and is better than ANY doctor on the bedside manner that I have EVER met.rnrnsorry I just don't have anything negative to say. Somedays I wish I got the gastric bypass so this would go by faster but at the same time I am very happy that I still have all my organs intact. I am 7 months out and 60lbs down. It hasn't been easy but any problems I have I just call the office and they are always willing to help in any way.
Dr. Montgomery was very good at explaining the lapband procedure and seeking out how much I really knew about the procedure. He answered all my questions and I felt very confident in him as a surgeon. The day of my surgery he again took the time to visit with me and answer any new questions. The risk of the surgery were explain and questions answered. I fully reseached the procedure before making my decision to have this surgery. I am completely satisfied and would highy recommend Dr. Montgomery.rnOne of the reasons I selected Northwest Weight Loss Surgical Center is because of the staff and their support. The only stressful part for me was seeing if my insurance would pay for the procedure. This process was not made easy and positive expirence. However, by doing all the right things with documentations and records, I was approved for the surgery within a week of submission to my insurance carrier. The cost of the surgery includes one year follow-up with fills and continued support groups and resources. rnFor me, surgical comepetence is most important and Dr. Montgomery is very educated, expirenced, continues education for the procedure himself and continue really cares about this procedure. If bedside manner is important to you, I would say he rates high there too.rnI am very satisfied and very happy I chose the lapband procedure.

Dr. Montgomery was great! NWWLS does only lapbands and the follow up support is excellent. They don't make you jump through unnecessary hoops when you need fills.
Dr. Montgomery will meet with you pre-op and answer all your questions. He's also available post-op to talk to you and do a post-op appt to check your incisions and how you're doing.
Fills at NWWLS are done by others, but they are very experienced and the process is quick and painless.
Practically everyone in the office has been banded and they are all supportive and helpful -- they know what you are going through.
NWWLS offers monthly support group meetings, a Yahoo group for ongoing discussion, and they give you staff email addresses so you can email when you have questions too.
I highly recommend Dr. Montgomery and NWWLS. (I hear Dr. Watkins is equally good)

Dr. Montgomery spoke at the wls seminar I attended and he struck me as very knowledgable. One of his nurses, Jessie Ahroni, also spoke. She struck me as a little abrasive at first, but I have since developed a lot of respect for her. Her knowledge and commitment continues to impress me.
Dr. M was great at my consultation, and took time to answer all my questions.
The aftercare program at nwwls was a big selling point for me. The more research I did, the more I came to see how critical this care will be to my success.
I've had a great experience. The surgery was incident free, and Dr. M covered the risks and care very thouroughly. The drive to the new office in Everett isn't super fun, but the staff makes it worth the trip every time.
I'm a fan.
This process and the new facility in South Everett has been wonderful. Everyone there is outstanding. I think Dr. Montgomery is awesome - down to earth and very friendly and knowledgable. I was self pay, so the process was very quick - 4 weeks from first visit to surgery. Love Melissa - she is so wonderful, caring and fun!
